Wow...First to post....Ok, I've gotten a quarter, Piece of the yellow pages, socket and binoculars. I've made several phone calls, and none of them were helpful. Is anyone else playing?

I have the the same except I have a piece of string.
attach the string to the quarter.
Also, you will need the password to the electric company...it is written on the same paper as the phone number. If you need the answer, let me know

You need to turn on the electricity and turn off the water. You will need a password for both.
I escaped. No help from anyone. That is saying a LOT.... cool game.

What is the password?
Password is 5 letters and a number
the password for the electric company is "night5". once the electricity is on, look up to get the other password.
Redroobar, you don't need the code from the fountain unless you don't attach the string to the quarter.
Very good game and I think i'm going to spoil it:
WALKTHROUGH:
1. Look at the phone in front of u, click it and pick up a STRING.
2. Press the coin return lever a few times (5 times is more then enuf) and u will hear somthing drop.
3. Look at the bottom of the phone ( the place where u will normally look for return coins) and pick up a SOCKET inside.
4. Click Right 3 times and pick up the BINOCULARS
5. From the same screen u pick up the binoculars, click left once.
6. Use the binoculars to look at the SIGN. Remember the Street Name.
7. Go back to the screen with the telephone
8. Click below, and pick up, Yellowpage an look carefully at the left side and click the little crack on the floor, u will pick up a COIN
9. COMBINE Coin with string. Now u can make multiple calls!
10. 1st person to call, Data-tec, Phone Trace service (to find out which phone number u are calling from)
11. 2nd person to call, electrician! NOTE the sentence written on the, NIGHT5 IS A BRIGHT IDEA I dunno wat it means, but seems to me the previous electrician has some form of bright idea.
12. They are close but will prompt u to key in ID followed by #. I guess the previous electrician’s ID should be helpful so key in 644485 (NIGHT5). Look at your phone number pad, you will understand.
13. Use the phone voice option to turn on the electrical supply to the booth. Choose 2 for service administration, key in phone number of your current location (for the lazy ones, its 2679532) and key 1 to turn it on.
14. Look up at the lamp. See a code, GUSH7.
15. From the screen with the phone, go right once and use your binoculars on the water feature, you will realize something is written below. Hmm…. How should I turn off the water? Well call them !
16. When u call them, will tell u close and ask u to key in password or smthg. Well the password is 48747 (GUSH7). Next ask them to switch off the water suppy, now they will ask u to key in the street name. (for those of u tat didn’t follow step 6 of my in walkthrough, the street name is ARCH street.) So key in 2724 and they will turn the water off.
17. Look at the water feature again. Realize it says, “no money 5675 return twice”. Took me awhile for this one but after thinking, well, go back to the phone.
18. This time without putting in the money, key in 5675 and press the coin return button twice. You will again hear something drop. Go back to the place u found the socket and grab a KEY from there
19. Use the key on the BLUE box below the phone and u will get a screw driver without a socket. Combine the socket with the screw driver.
20. Click on the nuts on the phone (beside the red handle) use the socket screw on the nuts to remove them.
21. Zoom out, click on the red handle and a greenish box appears behind the phone!
22. Zoom in towards the box and well play a game!
23. The main clue for this game is stated on the puzzle, “THE WESTERN UNION, 1876”. Go goggle it and you will find the answer. But for the few of u lazy people, LOL, I have it written at the end of the walkthrough.
24. After you are done with the game, go to the screen with a latch on the door! Realized its now open?
25. CONGRATZ! YOU ARE DONE!
The answer to the mini game is “the telephone is inherently of no value to us”

The coin and string do go in the coin hole. But you need to turn up your volume to hear everything and hear the person talking.
Okay, I've done most of the stuff you guys have...jxlex, you forget to call ME 4 HELP. if you dial 6344357, it will tell you what to do first. which is just call the electric company. I did, and dialed night5, then pressed 2, and dialed 2675932, the phone number, but it said "sorry, that is an invalid location. please enter the phone number of the location you would like to administrate." so, i cant get any farther. i know the sign outside said 'Arch street family park', and im thinking that might be important(jxlex, if you metioned this, i havent read your whole walkthrough cause i want to figure most of it out on my own, which i have so far). BTW, I wouldnt call the grudge gas co., i dialed it, and couldnt figure out what was happening at first, and remembered from the movie "the grudge" when they dialed someone it made that scary noise that was supposedly the grudge. Anyway, if someone could help that would be nice...lol

hi, i have got up to the part where you ring the water company but no matter how many times i ring it still says "unavailable right now", I'm pretty sure by the walk through that I've got every thing in order????? help please .

Here's how to do it fast.
Lift Phone receiver. Punch in 5675. Click coin return 5 times.
Remove key and bolt.
Look under telephone.
Remove screw driver. Look back at phone.
Remove screws next to handle.
Play the mini-game.
Answer to mini-game.
The telephone is inherently of no value to us.
Turn around and leave phone booth.

ok so i did everything up to the point where your supposed to look back at the fountain and get a number. (step 15 in the walk through.) i used the binoculars, but it still donstn say anything. help?

Kudos to anyone else who figured out the word game without use a walkthrough or google or any other cheat.
it took me awhile but i finished in 16:58. I came to this website looking for help and then I decided I would just do this the harder, more rewarding way. My time kinda sucks though.
wow, its way easier then that, just go behind the light, get the super secret latch opener, and open the latch, its a phone booth, you can just go out the door.
My god it took me 27.18 as when ever I rang the electric company there was no1 there!

At the start look up at the light, their's a certain pixel that, when clicked, makes the light come off, inside is a latch opener, get it, turn around and get out.

i'm loving escape games though it really requires a lot of thinking.. but to be honest i make use of the cheat codes in playing it..sorry....but eventhough i have cheats sometimes it's still a bit confusing but it's fun..really!
another thing i wasn't able to do the call to the electric co or the other one,just the water co. :)

when u shut down the water line u cant turn it back on to make the fountain spray.
to turn the light on first dial 555-7328 slowley the password is gush 7 after light is on u can turn it off even! but not for the water when u turn water line off theres no use turning back to turn it on again unless u restart the game.
i beat it in 2:25 (min Sec.)

I. Click on the phone. Click the "RETURN" lever.
II. Go to the coin return slot. Grab the socket.
III. Click on the phone. Dial "5675" and click the "RETURN" lever twice.
IV. Go to the coin return slot. Grab the key.
V. Click at the bottom of the screen. Click on the blue box. Use the key on the box and grab the screw driver.
VI. Combine the screw driver and the socket.
VII. Return to the front of the phone. Use the screw driver on the two bolts on the right side of the phone.
VIII. Open the phone with the red handle.
IX. Click on the letterdrop game. The sentence is "The telephone is inherently of no value to us."
X. Exit from the game and the phone. Turn right twice and turn down your speakers so the airhorn doesn't startle you, then click on the handle to the door to escape.
NOTE THAT I DID NOT USE A WALKTHROUGH TO COMPLETE THIS GAME, THIS GAME IS ACTUALLY THE ONE THAT GOT ME INTERESTED IN ESCAPE GAMES. I STARTED EXPERIMENTING WITH THEM, AND FOUND THAT THIS IS AN EASY WAY TO WIN QUICKLY.
Mostly you do not need to call anybody.
1. Face the phone and click on the coin return leverat least 3 times and you will hear something had dropped.
2. No it's not a quarter but it is a socket,keep it.
3.Now go back to the phone,Pick up the phone and key in 5675 but heres the twist;you dont need money.Go back to the coin return and click it at least 3 times and knotice something dropped again,pick up the key where you would receive the returned coin.
4.Use the key on the blue box below of the phone,there you will find a screwdriver.Grab it.
5.Go up go to the nuts on the right side of the phone and combine the screwdriver to the socket.Use the screwdriver to screw off the nuts.go back and pull the red handle above where the nuts were.
6.There you will knotice theres a game you play.Now for the lazy ppl heres the answer to the game to set you free:The telephone is inherently of no value to us.
7.you will hear a latch open;Get excited!Go back to the phone turn left 2 times and knotice the latch is open.Click the door and you will hear the siren to let you know you have won the game.Your welcome:]
