In the living room, is the screen where you can see the corridor, the plant and half part of white cabinet. Click on the floor, under the left leg of the cabinet.
Then you see a different screen with only floor. About the bottom of the screen, to the right corner,you'll see a fatter line which is the screwdriver.
DON'T KNOW WHAT A "BLINKIN POLAVA" IS BUT I AM SURE YOU'RE RIGHT!!!!

Okay, the cd drove me nuts, but it really is simple if you think about it without stressing....which I wan't able to do. Thank you, Diane!!! I still don't understand how you all got the number for the cone weight. Color me perplexed.

Might be a dumb qestion - but how figure out the code for the cone? I know it's in the walkthrough, but I'd like to know how one could find out about the code by oneself..

Just in case anybody else was struggling with this, I want to clarify the part where you stand on the rug with the roman numerals and look down...
Before you will be able to look down and observe the edges of the carpet, you have to look at the four pictures on the first floor that show the four views you can see from on top of the rug. One is hanging above the sink/stove in the kitchen, one is on the wall to the left of the front door, one is in the little closet with the cone weight, and one is down the hallway next to the switch that opens access to the second floor.
Each of the four pictures is time stamped, so remember the four views in chronological order.
Now if you go back and stand on top of the rug, look at each view in order. After you have looked at the pictures, you will be able to click down and view the number on the rug.
Hope this saves somebody a little time!

oh there is a place to click same as second part under the chair there to get that key..and its if im not mistaken its in the first view..not the zoom view..like i think u step away from it and click under the table that way..

Hmmm. no way around it-- I've done everything in the game and still the gap in the pool room wall WILL NOT OPEN.
I got several points unclear, can anybody helps :
1. living room : what's up with the color marks on the top left corner of the sliding door?
2. W.C. room : how to figure out code = 18 of the cone weight?
3. upstairs : you can look through under the bed but got nothing
4. upstairs : you can zoom in the clothing stand but got nothing
5. main door : make no difference even if you don't take the cash card

got the code to finally work, got the key,like a dummy forgot to save so put head on man and got the alarm end. no patience to start again for good end. on to next game.
