not alone

Well sprayed the brown screen and got numbers/letters...stuck!

first time post longtime player hope i can help :) been sneaking clues from you guys for awhile wink wink

mine's not loading

used spray bottle on grid and came up with a bunch of letters and numbers

im not gonna wait 30 mins for it to load. see ya

New game I'll give it a go!

anyone located the 4th brown thing for the box?

wow! power of posting i found it!

Got a couple (2) of 'tiles' need 2 more?

there seems to be a specific order they go in the blue box. each tile has a different symbol on it. also has anyone figured out the code behind the purple thing? maybe it corresponds to the o's and x's in the wave pictures?

i mean triangles not x's

under hte cat and red thing there was a tile, there was also one in the vase

       Anonymous  11/17/08, 5:58 PM

what order do the tiles go in?

Think we have a major translation problem!

i agree. i am completely stuck

having a hard time placing tiles

has anyone noticed that in the close up view of the purple wall hanging there are 2 japanese symbols and an @ symbol?

stuck miserably

Hey everybody, have 5 tiles and stuck with the rest of you..Dont know the order

Deduced with the numbers some are paired 86357 and 9241 are singles?

maybe number and letter grid @=2 and $=4

vbranam where did you find the fifth tile?

got it! what order do they go in?

check this link [It is Japanese game "shogi"]
http://www.chessvariants.com/shogi.html

The code of the hanging scroll:
You search the movement of the piece that written on the hanging scroll.
Lance moves forward any distance

The hint of the blue box
is △ and ○ wall. It's the movement of four pieces.

got this information from dora.
Have fun,everyone.

lani, 5th tile behind blue box

You need to know how to move Shogi(Japanese chess) pieces.
Google "shogi wiki" and check each piece movement.
"香車(lance)@" in the picture is the clue of box passcode.

Hi vbr,
nice to see you in this game.
i dont play Japanese chess so i think i will check this one later and have breakfast first.

Hi shuchun...great to see you! And vbranam1 not often I play live! So thanks for your help in the past!

no problem,redroobar.
and i think Xenon will help us this time.

has ne1 figured out the order of the brown thingies yet?

Good to see you to Shuchun, Redroobar and Ruff. Been a while..OOooh, Im not good at chess..lol

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shogi Wikipedia is your friend ^_^
Scroll down to see how the Shogi pieces move and compare it to the positions of the circles and triangles.

Vbranam1, you have 5 tiles? where is the fifth?

Well I think my tiles across are pawn, knight, ???, bishop, rook..cant work out the middle one

i think the 3rd one is the king

Ok 5th behind blue box where are the other 4 i've tried all combos but only have 4 tiles

I think the symbol/character on the hanging scroll might represent the King. I dont know how that helps though.

I went to website Shichun listed..I think mine are
1.???
2. Knight
3. Pawn
4. Bishop
5. Rook

can't find the tile in the wave, any help?

the middle one is silver general

thanks for the tip faewitch! got the key from blue box

       Anonymous  11/17/08, 6:20 PM

the middle one looks like the silver general to me

I think the tile we're left with after working out the blue box is the 'silver general' and yes, the one on the wall does look like the king...not sure what help it is though as I'm stuck!

Think the middle one is the silver general..

Got key from blue box.

hi all, lack of japanese knowledge is a real down side here

Yep! that worked thank you and got the key!

If you look at the blue screens. From left to right, the moves indicate the pawn, the bishop, the rook and the general.

Yeah, I think yall are right about 3 being silver general...

Ruff, you figured out the order??

This comment has been removed by the author.

agree michelle i am so confused

Sorry the right most one should be knight.

Can anyone translate what is above the code box next to the large tile on the wall (where the key goes)?

I am going to restart my game so that I could write down the order of the pieces.

Aaah, thanks Ruff, that worked for me too...got blue key

I read chinese and chinese and japenese are quite similar. For the tiles, from left to right, they are pawn, knight, silver general, bishop and rook. I will number them as 1 to 5 from left to right. If we look at the chess moves on the blue screen, we should place the pawn (1), then bishop (4), rook (5), then knight (2) on the blue box to get key.

to FaeWitch

translation:
Password
(Enter by keyboard)

You can enter the code after switch is ON.

Anyone figure out what to do with the 5th tile?

Thanks xenon. I had hoped it might have some sort of clue as to what the password was. I should know better by now!

Anyone had any joy with either of the codes?

thx tracie

ruff thx so much for that, got key!!!

No, not me. Figured it was the number of chess order..1452, its not working.. Ruff, you got some good ole hints??

i wish i could be brilliant and figure out code, but the language is really a problem....

I am still working on the screen trying to determine the two sets of passwords.

eleni - I'm guessing it is a hint to one of the codes or we use it after we've entered one of them...or maybe even both!

i do see that bottom part of tile is the same as where we put key

we should ask our dogs to translate

Vbranam1, lets number the tiles on the inventory from left to right as 1 to 5. Label the slots of the box from left to right as A to D. Then we need to place 1st tile to A slot, 4th tile to B slot, 5th tile to C slot and 2nd tile to D slot.

mike my pug and boston terrier arent talking like good ole duke from bush beans lol

Done that already Ruff, that was for blue key..What about after putting in keyand turning on..we need a password

ruf, that was a very clear explanation. i went to the chess site and "drew" the top half of the tiles and then went back to the game and looked at them..very labor intensive LOL!

traciesiem
My pug is from the orient

hey tracie, I have a pug too! , named Grace Kelly and a border collie named Molly. They're not helping me either

i dont think the maker of this game gave us good hints especially language barrier

If you look at the numbers above the @ on the screen and on the picture, you could find the code for the box behind the picture. The silver general goes in there.

funny mike !
and michele mine is mama aka paris ( not the starlet the city) lol shes 3

I have used my "silver general" on the grid behind the picture and I'm stuck.

ok ruff , you just put us all to shame, great job!!!!!:)

Right, let's be logical about this...The password has a maximum of 5 letters/numbers. The box will accept both but since it says it's a password rather than a code I would imagine that we're looking for letters. I have tried all the names for various pieces that I can find with no luck.

I'm about to start going through the other code one number at a time from 0001 to 9999! I'm sure it has SOMETHING to do with the grid we revealed with the spray bottle but I can't for the life of me figure out what or how. I've tried taking the numbers nearest the letters k-i-n-g but that didn't work.

O my gosh, Thank you Ruff.

seriously? we were stuck that long? and it was that simple! thats frustrating!

@gracie is 2.5, 3 on valentines day:)

@ruff, okay now what's with the blue squares........

ty ruff i tried that but had numbers from top to bottom not the other way around

LOL faewitch, let me know when you get through those numbers one by one..

You guys are great...I wish I could contribute something!!

p.s. thanks, faewitch...you are probably right.

should we try to lite up the blue squares in accordance with the way the chess piece moves?

       Anonymous  11/17/08, 6:53 PM

after you put the silver general piece in you have to put the movements that piece can make which is the top 3 and the first and last in the bottom row

Heh, thanks to Ruff's genius I don't need to!

Once you've entered the silver general, click the squares it could move to in a game of Shogi...

Use http://www26.brinkster.com/sweshogi/vadshogi_e.htm

It will tell u how each pieces moves. Only focus on these 4 pieces' movement - Knight, Pawn, Bishop & Rook.

Look at the 4 window/door that has triangle and circle - First movement is Pawn, 2nd - Bishop, 3rd - Rook, 4th - Knight.

Now compare the pieces you see in the website, with the pieces you have in the game. Put them in order.

Please note that the wooden pieces you have has 2 language, top is Japanese and bottom is chinese. Compare the website with the top language, which is Japanese.

for the squares go back to
blue http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shogi
and match them to the silver general

And OUT!!!

Ok got the blue box...but for the life of me don't get it with the other two codes..I'm coming back later giving brain a rest. LOL

Goodie...got a new set of numbers! Thank you ruff (just followed the wikipiedia for the silver general?

Thank you,oxojen178oxo

I'm out!

ive tried alot of 5 letter words already with d e t o u r a nada

Oxojen178oxo, thanks for the silver general moves.

Thanks to everyone, lovely playing and great help from ruff....out.

look at the S on the screen and choose letters to match the numbers redroobar

I'm out

traciesjem, look at the numbers you've revealed on the puzzle, they give an order.
Now look at the squares around the 's' on the grid, they give the letters for the password.

ok my brain hurts, i'm glad i was right about the way the chess piece moves, but someone put me out of my misery and TELL me how the piece moves please...

       Anonymous  11/17/08, 6:59 PM

after you get the blue buttons right it will show numbers with an 'S' in the middle remember the order of the number now refer to the brown screen with the numbers and letters look for the 'S' and enter the letters for the code box with the key in the order of the numbers behind the scroll thing and you get......

spoiler...

ROBIN

tracie...using the same idea that we did with the @ and based on the S work out the order around on the grid. Tweet, tweet!

make the 4 corners and the one directly above the piece blue michele

Allright, Out...Thank you Ruff...
Thanks for the other hints folks..This was fun...

I escaped. Thanks for all the hints. Nice game.

After the wait I came back and understood the hints...YEA!!! I am out finally...

ok I tried to do this game with the hints above and I cannot for the life of me get it. If anyone knows the code behind the scroll that would be awesome

Please someone tell me where the fifth tile that goes in the inventory space is. Not the one behind the blue box, the one that was hidden on the door, the one in the vase, or the one under the cat stand thingy. I have clicked all over that stupid wave picture and cant' find it.

Great, this game is buggy. I had to hit refresh and the tile was there the second time.
