Where's the video tape? If you can't reach it, that might be what the grabber is for.

    9/1/09 09:22

  19. Videotape is on right side of cabinet under the TV. Still can't get the blue key to work on the top drawer.

    9/1/09 09:22

  20. No, my grabber seems to be broken. LOL

    9/1/09 09:23

  21. DanManX said...

    I don't see a video tape there. I see a VCR...

If you look closely at the drawer, there's a black spot on the left side of the handle. Try selecting the key and clicking there.

    9/1/09 09:24

  22. victorian221b said...

I think the video tape is actually a DVD player...

Sue, the blue key is inside the book you get when you put the calendar on the shelf with the dog/statue thing.

  26. OOPS! Sorry.

    9/1/09 09:25

I think a lot of the clues are written in Japanese. This will be a tough one!

    9/1/09 09:26

  29. DanmanX - Thanks. That worked.

    9/1/09 09:26

  30. Jessica M said...

    Easy mistake. =)

    9/1/09 09:27

  31. Can anyone here read Japanese?

    9/1/09 09:28

  32. DanManX said...

That's okay, trust. Just means we're all stuck now.

It seems like the back of the picture is supposed to have numbers or something at the end, but it's all just zeros/O's. I know a lot of times we attribute that to not having the right language pack, but I've never understood that. When you make a flash file, you save everything as an image, so as long as the computer you make the thing on has that language, it'll get saved into the picture, and then other computers will load it as an image file, not text.

    9/1/09 09:28

  33. Jessica M said...

Anyone wanna take a whack at cracking the safe by entering random numbers? =P

    9/1/09 09:30

  34. DanManX said...

Not me, Jess. I don't remember the calculations for it, but I know there's way too many combinations for me to try.

    9/1/09 09:31

  35. Yes, I tried all 0's (zeros) and O's (ohs) just for good measure. No good. Also in the book step #2 says play. I can't figure out any clues to either the safe or the computer. Can't find out what to do with the grabber and I can't get the doors of the closet open.

    9/1/09 09:31

  36. Holland said...

1048576 combinations to be exact ;)

    9/1/09 09:32

  37. DanManX said...

I think the book is instructions on how to work the TV/video player. It may also be instructions on where to find things, but we can't read it.

    9/1/09 09:33

  42. Jessica M said...

Trust me, Kendra. It shouldn't take very long to catch up. Hehe.

I wonder what the point of the mirror is. I mean... Apparently we're the guy on the left in the picture, but what does that help with?

    9/1/09 09:45

  52. The guy in the mirror is the same guy on the left side of the picture. I'm so stuck! rofl

    9/1/09 09:46

  53. Carola said...

Tried on safe aver combination for 23xx so 2300 until 2399

    Will try xx23 now

    9/1/09 09:47

  54. DanManX said...

If we could read Japanese, I'm sure the red text on the front of the picture, and whatever the back says, would give us some clue to the identity of that other guy, or the relationship between them, which would give us either the code to the safe or the password to the computer.

By the way, I noticed 21 at the top of the calendar and figured it might mean a 21st birthday, so I tried adding 1988 and 88 to the numbers 1, 23 (and 01, 23) as the password or safe code. It didn't work, but maybe someone else will have an idea.

    9/1/09 09:49

  55. Carola said...

    All the combinations for
    xx23

  56. Jessica M said...

I tried counting the number of stones in the picture, but that seems rather useless. =P

    9/1/09 09:53

  57. Well, it's 4 A.M. here. I'm leaving to get some sleep. Good luck! I'll check back.

    9/1/09 09:55

    I think:
    book is hint for DVD
    Photo is hint for PC
and hope calender is hint for SAFE or the hint for safe is on TV of PC??

  70. DanManX said...

I put in hakodate (what does that mean?) and got a chime that indicated I did something right, but nothing happened. It still shows the password screen on the computer...

    9/1/09 10:01

  71. Taltal said...

did anybody see the red line on the calander? does it meen anything???? :~.

    9/1/09 10:01

  72. the password for comp works - opens the closet doors.

    9/1/09 10:01

  73. sabrina said...

    hakodate doesn't work for me

    9/1/09 10:02

  74. kendra said...

when you put that code in you can open the closet

    9/1/09 10:02

  75. DanManX said...

Never mind, somehow putting the password in the computer OPENS THE CLOSET?! That's ridiculous! What is this place, something out of the Jetsons?

Anyway, I've seen that line, Taltal, and there are actually several (and a blue one too). I don't believe they mean anything, but I could be wrong.

    9/1/09 10:03

  76. carotcuite said...

thks haku (from spirited away ???) code worked but the clue i'm given for the safe doesn't work. 2 of the figures on the window don't correspond to numbers on my keyboard...

    9/1/09 10:03

  77. sabrina said...

    thanks for the (hakodate) code

    9/1/09 10:03

  78. haku said...

do not use upper case for the computer password, it should work, maybe u need to get the photo first

then u can open the closet

then on the paper: pass2, it says: what is the color of your glasses?

so the second code to the computer is: black

    9/1/09 10:03

  79. sabrina said...

    (#%)....??? ugh lol

    9/1/09 10:04

  80. Carola said...

Found on wikipedia the japanese couting for years:

    # 1989 平成 Heisei era

Looks to me, these are the same symbols on the calender for the 21.
Don't know if it is a hint?

    9/1/09 10:04

  81. DanManX said...

Oh great, the password from the closet is ALSO completely in Japanese, not an Arabic Numeral to be found; haku, if you could, apply your expertise to the situation please?

    9/1/09 10:04

  82. Taltal said...

thank god you're with us haku :)))))

    9/1/09 10:05

  83. (#%) translates to 9350 on comp but that doesn't work as password...maybe the pword2 paper gives a hint as to how to arrange the numbers.

    9/1/09 10:05

  84. kendra said...

when you put in the 2nd pass..you can open the last drawer on the desk.....cause you know its normal to have passwords on your computer to open things in your room -_- lol

    9/1/09 10:05

  85. haku said...

the password of closet is: black

    9/1/09 10:06

Password for safe is the numbers on keyboard, not (#%). Guess I got bad end because I did not enter black (for glasses), dont read japaneese.

I don't like this kind of game where you can't find anything by yourself if you don't speak a specific language (most often, japanese) and if you don't have a specific keyboard.
