Click very bottom of fan base to look underneath it.

have you figured out the 4 letter word code? i tried WIND but didnt work..

Hi Meg, I've been working on it. tried the 5th, 1st, 3rd, 6th letters of the alphabet, and both People and Energy, but that didn't work. I'm trying to work out if the darker P, e, W, d, E are clues...

noticed that some letters are thicker in words.
(E)nergy
(W)in(D)
(P)eopl(E)

@zilifool didnt refresh page to see you already said that..lol any luck?

"Develop" on the fan button too.

@Diana where did you click to see that?

Each of the words begins or ends with the last/first letter of another word...

Hi Diana, didn't see Develop at all! Where's the click point to see it?

@Meg, go to the back of the fan.

Use the "word chain" for the code to the bottom of the fan.

Oh jeez! The top right button that says "Back" shows you the back of the fan! I thought it was the 'Back Button' that takes you back a view. *smacks forehead*

haha its okay @zilifool, i thought the same.

Now I can't even find anything to click, other than attaching the bottom set of wires. Much less anything figured out.

Did I forget to mention that I'm horrible at these Katai Dismantlement games? ;-)

i feel like im missing something cuz even though i am on the back view (and clicked everywhere)i still cant even find the word "develop"... ):

Damn, I thought for the puzzle to turning the fan off, you count the space between each "highlighted" fuse. It gives the code 33615, but doesn't work on the buttons up front :(.

......nevermind...

Meg, close up on the back of the fan, and kinda click around the top.

thanks anyway. lol

Good eye, Diana! If you notice that the last highlighted fuse jumps another 5 to the first one, so I tried 336155 too. And 36155. Of course, no luck yet.

I'm going to join in so I can be humiliated before going to bed. @zillifool, if nothing else I'll make you feel better, since I am no doubt worse at these games than you are!

LOL Zoz! I fear you give me too much credit! ;-)

I'm CONVINCED those fuse things have to do with the code up front, but I'm stumped.

Think I'll step away for a bit and come back later.

Good luck all!

@Diana, don't go! Your "word chain" clue let me open the bottom panel!

who would have thought dismantling a fan would be so hard?

Meg, you've never played any of the other Dismantlement games, have you? *wink*

They're seriously hard.

does the S --->--> E clue in the bottom right corner mean we have to solve the puzzles in that order (i.e., bottom right, top right, top middle, bottom middle, left bottom, left top)?
because I can't solve any of them so far!

Does the four letter word start with a Y and end with a W?

is it that obvious?? lol

@Pricilla, try starting with W and ending with E

@priscilla no, it starts with a W

did anyone notice the light grey lines beside the vertical dark grey lines on the switch at bottom center?
I'm just throwing out these observations in the hope that someone can make some sense of them, because I can't!

Ok, I cheated! Gamershood told how to stop the fan. Diana was right about the fuses, but looking at them from the top line, then 2nd line, 3rd line, etc..., they are in the 3rd, 2nd, 4th, 1st, 2nd column. This is the order to push the buttons on the front. 32412
Only, you push each button the number of times it has dots. So press 3rd button 3 times, 2nd button 1 time, 4th button 6 times, 1st button 5 times, 2nd button once.

Priscilla, the fourth word is on the back of the fan, zoom on top of the dome with the black sun/clock-looking lines. Then you pull up the fan knob to see it.

thats what i have been doing but mine decided to not work?

damn, I had the 32412, I just didn't press each button the right number of times! I'm so glad you cheated @zillifool! TY!

OH! figured out why.. you have to make sure the wires are connected. i was getting anxious and kept messing with them, then forgot to put them back together.. lol my bad

Thanks Meg and Zilifool, I found the word Develop but it seems that if you put the words in a chain, then it would be Wind, Develop, People, Energy, so then it would start with a W and end with a Y?

oh nevermind...I just saw that Energy only uses the E so now I need to figure out what word starts with W and ends with E (thinking...thinking...)

yes, Priscilla, it would. I thought you were looking for one word W to Y.

The four letter answer to the code on the base of the fan is the first letter of each word.

@priscilla just use the first letter of each of those words in that order. it doesnt spell out a specific word. EX: Cats, Eat, Sea, Food = CESF

Yay!!! Thanks! I was trying to make a real word so ofcourse that wasn't working!

Wind Develop People Energy

after you stop the fan, flip the switch at the bottom center of the bottom panel, then you can remove the three screws that hold the fan grill on

Although, my initial thought when I saw them was "People develop wind energy" = FART! but of course, that didn't work ;-)

use the top right code for puzzle in fan. stuck on the one after that...

@zilifool True! haha!! that would have been hilarious.

Top left puzzle stopped fan. Top right puzzle told you how to turn (left, right) to remove fan blade. Bottom right puzzle told you how to light the buttons to remove the plate. Then click around the bottom of what you revealed to see a roman numeral code. These numbers correlate to our original 5136 buttons.

I've stopped the fan but which way do we turn the blades?

make sure you follow the arrow to get the fan right pattern to take off the fan blade

and hi everyone, i've been playing eg24 for about 2 weeks, but never posted before

got it, thanks jford..

Hello jford!

just figured out next step, you have to makes an "S" shape like the ESS clue (for the dot puzzle)

hi @jford and welcome to our crazy world!
I flipped the switch on the bottom center again and was able to take off the next step after the grill.

Hi jford! Welcome, and congrats on catching a live game!

So now I've got the fan innards open, I've removed 3 screws (2 from the front, and one from the back) but I'm stalled.

numeral code: follow the dot buttons from front of fan.

stalled after numerals

@Meg, are you talking about the roman numerals and the four switches on front of the fan?

nvm, got it. I forgot to switch the position of the second and third roman numeral according to the lines beneath

found one screw on back to remove, but got me nowhere

I'm stalled too after the four switches

@zoz yeah, make sure you pay attention to which "button" the arrows are pointing at

You're with me, jford. The warning sign on the bottom correlates to what I see, so I followed zoz's hint and disconnected the wires. I'm looking at an orange circle, with the yellow button in the middle. l've removed the two screws next to the roman numeral code, and the one screw in the back. But I can't remove anything else.

the next step is to remove the "develop" button from the top in back

Aha! Thanks zoz!

for the color code, mix colors (e.g., red + white = pink)
Now we're getting somewhere!

i got the back off, there's a hotspot on top of the back

ok, after you remove the develop button, you need to punch in four colors according to the hints on the bottom, just remember to add two colors together to make another color if there;s two colors in a circle

Thanks for the help guys!

After the Roman numeral code, go to the back of the fan, and look between the grates.

yay, i'm getting somewhere...hint red and yellow make....

out!! thanx for tip @zoz

@Meg, I'm stuck with the bottom center switch and the 3 circles (one with a square in it) on back. Help?

I'm "out"!

zoz, next step, look at the "Warning" sign.

@zoz, there's 3 circles above as well with a circle in one, but not sure what to do with them

uh oh... timer's going off. I found the 3 circles clue with circle on top, square on bottom right, but did anyone find where the bottom left shape is?

thare are 3 replicas of that triangle made out of circles all over the fan, they each show you one circle at a time. look around for them. then go to bottom and once you get that off, you put codes together. hope that helped, if not just ask.

I'm looking at the warning sign and the two sets of three circles but I'm blanking out. it's almost 3am here, somebody help, pleeze!

zoz, on bottom unplug the top plug (the one above the color code answers) then go to front of fan, click the very top of the pole and push the red button. Then you'll be able to remove the bottom and see the bomb.

Bottom left shape is on the bottom of the fan with the timer, upper right side.

@zilifool, front of fan..sorta around top

oh, zoz, I see you're past that!

out, #190

This comment has been removed by the author.

sorry if im not much help, i sorta flew through the end and forgot what i did.

LOL at me! The last set of circles I was looking for was in the bomb view!
I must've been too focused on the timer to notice! (hint for others, it's in the top right view of the base of the fan once the green plate is removed)

And finally out! Great game, and thanks for all the help!

I pushed red button but I can't do anything after that ?? the circle buttons what do they do ?

you guys are all great! I just couldn't have made that last leap of logic (if that's what you call it, lol) without your help.
Now goodnight all!

Out! Thanks everyone for all your help!

the three circles I see top circle bottom right square then circle but I keep blowing up :(

Geeeezzz just leave me to die :-(

sorry @Clee, where are you stuck?

did you see the clue in the upper right corner in the scene with the bomb (triangle in lower left circle)?

Pouts the three buttons on the fan , I want 2 circles and a square?? it doesn't ...Thanks Zoz

that was it thanks for saving me I couldn't sleep leaving that bomb going ...sweet dreams!!

yw @Clee. I hate it when I get stranded after everyone else has left!

ohmigosh, I'm so sorry Clee! Thanks zoz for the rescue!

I'm working on the walkthrough now!

@zillifool, just saw that you're doing a walkthrough. I'll go ahead and post what I have so far and you can bring it on home from there.
Now I really am going to bed!

Katai Dismantlement - Chapter Fan part I
"this is the game for those who love the screwdrivers"
(I think that pretty much describes all of us!)

- Unscrew the screw to start. don't you just love the sound of a screwdriver at work?
- check the word hints in the following locations:
--- center front
--- upper center attachment of grill
--- bottom panel (where the four buttons are)
--- on back; click the center area and then zoom on the top of it. There is a pop-up that has the word on it
- go back to the front and click on the bottom and you'll see a space for a four letter code. the code is derived from a word chain of the four word clues (thanks @ Diana for this!) solutions will follow
- when the lock clicks open, back up and remove the four screws that attach the base. Remove the base.
Now we're having fun!

- look at the puzzle in the upper left corner of the base: certain fuses are highlighted with dark green (for example, number 3 on the first line,, etc)
- flip the switch at the bottom middle of the base
- go to the front of the fan where the four buttons are (on the lower part) and click them (a) in the order dictated by the fuse numbers and (b) the number of times dictated by the number of dots on each button. For example, if the fuse code is 1234, you would click the first button five times, the second button once, the third button three times and the fourth button six times). (Thanks @zillifool for this one!)
- the fan should stop moving
- after you stop the fan, flip the switch at the bottom center of the bottom panel, then you can remove the three screws that hold the fan grill onto the front
- click the center of the front grill and remove it
- look at base of fan and at the upper right puzzle. If Blue = left turn and Purple = right turn, then make a note of the turns, moving from top left to right and then middle right to left and bottom left to right according to the arrow.
- go back the the front center of the fan and move it according to this pattern
- remove the fan blade (requires two clicks)
- click the attachments holding the plate to the fan according to the ESS clue on the bottom of the fan; remove the plate
- remove the three screws under the plate, then remove the next piece.
- move to the back of the fan and zoom on the upper vents, above the center hole; remove the center screw.
- go back to the front and click on the upper circle where you just removed three screws, then near the "legs" of this area, at the bottom.
- you should see a four place keypad that requires roman numerals.

Now take it away, zillifool!

WALKTHROUGH

1. Center of fan, see Wind; back of fan (the brown button on top right of screen) click above right of the domed motor backing to zoom, then click the knob to see Develop; top of fan,(back in the front view) see People; base of fan to see Energy.

Click the very bottom of the base to enter a letter code. The words you found go together from the last letter of one word being the first letter of the next word. Remove the bottom plate.

2. Top left quadrant shows an icon of the fan with an x through it. This will turn off the fan. Note that the highlighted fuses, from top to bottom are in the 3rd column, 2nd column, 4th column, 1st column, 2nd column. This gives the order of 32412 (3rd, 2nd, 4th, 1st, 2nd).

Connect the yellow plug at the bottom of the green panel, so that the wires are connected. Back to the base of the fan, you need to hit the buttons in that order, only each button needs to be pressed the number of times it has dots.

3. Remove the 3 screws around the fan cage, then click to remove. The top left quadrant of the panel under the base shows how to click left or right to remove the fan blade. Remember that you have to follow the order of the arrow underneath.

4. The bottom right quadrant of the panel shows how to remove the cover plate behind the fan. Remove the parts, then undo the 3 screws.

5. Click the base of the exposed motor to see a roman numeral code entry. This correlates to the buttons on the base of the fan. Note that the 2nd and 3rd wires are crossed for code entry.

6. Remove the 2 screws, then go to the back of the fan and click the top center line to remove 3rd screw. Then click the knob (that had Develop on it) to remove it, and click the housing to remove that.

Click the yellow part below the circle to zoom and you'll see a yellow plug with 4 wires that matches the yellow plug at the top of the panel under the base. Use the color codes you find there to unlock this one. Remove the yellow plug you just unlocked, and remove the screw behind it to be able to remove the whole motor.

7. Zoom the post to see 3 circles and note the top one. Zoom the yellow plug you just removed to see 3 more circles and note the bottom right one. Back to the front of the fan, click the top of the pole and click the red button to reveal screws on the bottom panel.

At bottom panel remove both the yellow plugs, all 4 screws, then click the red circle on the right to remove the panel. Zoom the top right area to see 3 more circles and note the bottom left one.

Click the contraption in the middle to see that it's a bomb. Enter the proper shapes in the circles, then remove the screw. Remove the clock, and one more screw to finish.

Gongtats! You did it!

@zillifool, your WT is so much more straightforward and easier to follow than my wordy-through. I should have just gone to bed before!

omg, ive been spelling your name wrong! sorry @ zilifool!

Zoz, I love your walkthroughs! They are very entertaining! And sometimes I make things too simple, or I overlook something, and others don't get the info they need. So being wordy is good! I LOVE it when I see a game with more than 1 WT, 'cause then I know that all the bases were covered.

By the way, you can just call me zili. Or zilli, or zilly. Doesn't matter. :-P

Oh, a new Dismantlement! I love these games!! (Maybe "because i love screwdrivers"). I'll go in and try it on my own, but i'll take forever and fells so good to have zoz and zilifool as "backups". Thanks!

thanks @zoz @ zilifool and other too i wouldnt have proceeded even a single step without help.. i'm so pathetic in dismantling stuffs.. just a throw from the terrace would do the trick though!!!!

That took me a long time for sure!! I needed help to see that each word begins with the end of the previous (thanks @Diana!), then I was stuck for the longest time when I couldn't remove the bottom to see the bomd... I didn't click the red button!! Well, a very nice game as always! I wish I could have played it live!

This comment has been removed by the author.

Very nice game indeed! Pity that I couldn't play it live.

helpppp me please idk where the color code is

       Anonymous  5/15/10, 5:15 PM

Wow! I've never played this series before! That was excellent - really got my brain moving!

       Anonymous  5/16/10, 6:17 AM

It's worth it to read Zilifool's comment on 15/5/10 8:25. I laughed sooo hard I startled my dog!!

OMG I AM SMART!!!

lol

Let's see the bits I needed help on were the first two clues and then there was the bit where I was trying to figure out in which way I was to create an S for the dots. I knew that the bottom-right clue went towards that puzzle and was following the clue...but I guess I was being too literal with the clue instead of just creating an S shape I was trying to go from South to East! lol

But everything else I got! YAY me!

Wait, am I seeing a tag-team effort on a walkthrough!?!

OMG, too cute! lol

I love this series! (you're right, @zoz. How can we not love a screwdriver based game!)

out with only 1 hint to push the buttons more than once. I got everything else on my own yayness!

@zilifool lol! too funny. I may never think of alternative wind energy the same!
