Yay! It's finally posted! Now I will wait patiently for you all to get where I am and get me the heck out of here! :D

Think like scientists in 1882? Let's see

Oh! And thank you Megi!!!

Hi @mgkanda!

A plate and a match from the table.

Hi @annaby and @small-tool! :D

       Anonymous  11/1/10, 11:29 AM

Hello !

Hi all.
Two plates from the fireplace (there's a second view there) and a pestle from under/behind the logs.

From the little table a plate and a paper (between the books) And I can move the flower but not take it.

Oh and Full too! Hi!

tongs from newspaper holder

A plate to the right of the chair with the violin.

       Anonymous  11/1/10, 11:35 AM

hi !

Thanks annaby and there's a plate next to the newspaper too.

missing 1 plate

Plate and salpetre from the table behind the table.

       Anonymous  11/1/10, 11:36 AM

Saltpetre , paper, pestle, lighted match, tongs and 8 out of 9 plates
( anyone has 9 plates?)

And a plate in the empty picture above that table (missing one plate too).

I think one of them might have been in one of the locked drawers. Clue to the big drawer in on newspaper. :)

How did you light the match?

use tongs on fireplace

got 8 of nine plates too

use the tongs to get a piece of coal from the fireplace and put it in the vase after you remove the flowers

use FP to light the match @small-tool

hi all! trying to catch up!

Hi all!
So far:
8 plates, match, salpetre, pestle, paper, coal, pincers (used)

link is not working for me....

Thanks mgkanda, have 9 plates now.

       Anonymous  11/1/10, 11:41 AM

No idea what to do with the coal now

Used the match on the burner thing.

put coal to gold vase

I don't know if it means anything or not that you can click and sort of change the squares on what looks like a game board on the table where you get the match.

lit the chemical torch on table

Burn the paper on the burner thing.

       Anonymous  11/1/10, 11:43 AM

Yvon, same happened to me, just reload...

Thanks @small-tool - had been trying to do that.
(Put match slightly above top)

need sulfur

Did you all get the paper from under the vase? Between books.

where is the sulpher?

I am too late, so far i have 8 papers, a lit match, salpetre, pestle, tongs and a white paper.

Do the paper formula and you have gunpowder.

Took coal from ceminey

Sulpher is in cupboard drawer.

@small-tool - did you find the sulfur?

*chimney

@Zazie not too late. I've been stuck for ages lol. 9th piece in locked drawer in tall cb. Use newspaper for clue.

hint for the letter code anyone?

My coal is cold now.

Okay @small-tool, you're almost where I am. I'm waiting for you to give me my headslapper moment.

zoz,
It's on the newspaper (roman numerals).

ah - you're ahead of me @small-tool. I thought the code would be sulfur

thanx @small-tool!

Use the plates on the empty picture and make the periodic table and you get the hint for the little table drawer.
Have a gun now.

CIVIL is too short

@zoz place your plates correctly above table where you make gun powder for letter code.

you're welcome, but it was mgkanda who found out.

Missing one plate

@Zazie Notice on the newspaper there is a dot in between each letter. They are all separate. C.I.V...
100 1 5 etc...

@Zazie, C for 100, V for 5, etc

Thanks for the hint with the newspaper small-tool!

Zazie,
make numbers from civil (c=100 etc.)

Thanks small-tool. Got sulplher and last plate but cannot add sulpher to coal

Okay, what to shoot!!! That's where I am.

You're welcome as well Stu, but like I said; thank mgkanda.

Graham,
use the pestle on the coal first to grind it.

i can't get the periodic table to go together right. Grrrrrrr!

Thank you all, opened drawer finally

So thanks mgkanda!!!!

I missed one plate and the letter code.
Stuck with 8 plates and gunpowder

Thanks @s-t. No need for credit just need something to shoot at lol. :)

I have the bullet (use the musical notes as a hint).

       Anonymous  11/1/10, 11:54 AM

Must go and make supper , Ciao...

And just shoot the door then.

I don´t get the code for small drawer. Chemie thing...

@small-tool use the notes where exactly?

Ahh - didn't have pestle! Thanks!

@Zazie once you place all the plates some letters will be red. That's your code.

mgkanda,
On the little chessboard

But i cannot make the periodic puzzle right :(

@small Oh for crying out loud! Thank you! That was exactly the headslapper moment I was waiting for! :D

       Anonymous  11/1/10, 12:00 PM

I'm out!

not getting the notes/chessboard

Still stuck at the 9 plates...getting bored

@Graham nor I, actually. @small help?

I have red letters libere. Is that right?

Graham,
Only look at the 1/8th notes and click those on the squares of the chessboard.

annaby,
that's right, now you can open the drawer in the little table.

       Anonymous  11/1/10, 12:03 PM

The 8 numbers on the drawer must be civilized.

but that didn't work :(

that's it @annaby

got it - thx once again small-tool!

I take it back. It worked - just had to back out and come back.

Finally i did it....by this
http://astro.goblack.de/Theorie/p_elemente-tab.gif

you have to back up and then open the drawer

and out!

@Zazie They just need to be in numerical order. I think the middle top row is empty. I don't know how to make a screenshot but going by the 1st # on each plate it goes.

1 - nothing - 2
11 - 25 - 13
37 - 43 - 49

Hope that makes sense and helps some.

thanx all, couldn't have left the room without your help!!

Now stuck on chessboard and notes.
And where is a bullet ?

is the ball supposed to be a bullet? it won't go in my gun!

Yay! Thank you small-tool! I'm out!

zoz,
First the gunpowder then the bullet (just like in the old times, heehaw).

@Zazie You have to do the chess board for the bullet. Use the 1/8 notes on music sheet to know which squares to press.

@Zazie, the eighth notes are the ones with the little tails. Each panel of four notes corresponds to a horizontal row on the board.
SPOILER

From top to bottom row, press
1st. 3
2nd. 2
3rd. 4
4th 3 and 4

Hmm still stuck on chessboard, i can´t read notes.

ahha @small-tool, I forgot all about the gunpowder, lol

Thanks @zoz - the chessboard was driving me nuts. I'm out now.

Juhu thank you so much zoz, have bullet now

the one time I shot a musket loader gun, we also used a little square of cloth and a pole to shove everything down the barrel. I don't think this gun would work so well!

@Zazie and @annaby, my pleasure (especially since I needed help on every other aspect of the game!)

Thanks all! Good game! And thanks again to @MegiPoland for posting!

I am still not out but i have to go for a while.
I cannot combine bullit with gun, nor put coal into grinder etc...how to proceed ?

This is not my game i fear :)

If you write me some hints how to go on i really will be graceful.
Thx in advance lol...cu later.

@Zazie - did you first put the coal in the vase?
It should go into the mortar. Grind it, then add other ingredients. Put gunpowder in gun, then bullet.

Zazie,
you have to cool the coal first in the water of the flower pot on the little table (take flower away first).
Then put the coal in the bowl on the table with the burner and then use the pestle on it.

Jut want to say thanks to all who post. I often come after you have worked it all out and your hints help me a lot. so thank you!

The link isn't working for me; anyone else have a problem with the link?

@Seawall I think it was mentioned earlier and Full said refreshing fixed it for her. Try that. Hope you get in. :)

       Anonymous  11/1/10, 1:23 PM

Burn the paper to see the recipe before you can make the gunpowder

Well thank you all so much for your hints. I just came back and read your comments. It was exactly what i did, my coal is cold (after the vase) but it does not go into the grinder...etc.
I will refresh the game but tomorrow, maybe a bug.

You are all very kind, thx anyway :)

Where is the game ???

Medeleyev Mystery - Through
a word of warning: Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleyev is credited with having formulated the first Periodic Table of the Elements. Chem-phobes beware!

- Click on the table and take the first of 9 plates that will later be put together to form the Periodic Table of the Elements
- Take the match from the plate of lemons.
- It's probably worth noting here that the Checkerboard squares change color ever so slightly when you click on them.
- Click on the Fireplace and take Plate 2.
- Click on the wood to the right of the Fireplace and take Plate 3.
- While in that same view, click on the bronze or brass object on the right side of the wood pile. This is the Pestle.
- Back up and go right.

- Click on the small table on the far wall and take Plate 4 and also the Saltpetre.

Trivia fact: Saltpetre is Potassium Nitrate, or KNO3, and has been used for many things throughout history. The most colorful use is as an "anaphrodisiac", or quelcher of "sexual fever". Now back to the game!

- Click on the chair with the violin (to the right of the table) and take Plate 5 from behind the chair. Also take note of the musical score (take "note", get it? nyuck, nyuck, nyuck)
-Back up and click on the newspaper that is in the container on the floor (you can also access this by going right first).
- Take Plate 6 and also look at the word at the top of the paper.
- Take the Tongs from the left side of the newspaper container.
- Back up and go right.

- Click on the Table in the right corner and take Plate 7.
- While in this view, also take the Paper that is tucked into the pages of the book on the lower shelf.
- Back up and go right.

- Zoom on the fireplace and light the match .
- Also in this view, use the tongs to take the glowiing Coal from the fire.
- Back up and go left.

- Zoom on the small table again and remove the Flowers from the Bronze Vase.
- Dip the burning hot Coal in the vase. I'm afraid you'll have to use your bare hands for this as the tongs have disappeared. But what's a little first degree burn compared to finishing the game?
- Back up and go left.

Next: Part 2

This comment has been removed by the author.

i can't get coal into mortar... i tried clicking it all over. any hints? can't light lamp, either.

@Josie, I think you have to have all the ingredients (Coal, Saltpetre, Sulphur) before you can put any of them into the mortar.
As for the lamp, it's a bit pixelly. Just keep clicking the lit match at or right above the top of the lamp.

I can't believe Part 2 disappeared!!!! It was there when I posted it several hours ago. My sincere apologies to anyone and everyone!

Part 2

- Zoom on the Table under the empty frame and use the lit Match to light the Laboratory Burner. (Hold the match at or near the top of the burner and be patient, as this may take quite a few tries).
- Hold the Paper over the flame, and you will soon have a Recipe lying on the table. Now to find some Sulfur!
- Go to the Tall Cabinet and click on the brass plaque and enter the code. (Hint: Think "Roman numerals")
- Click on the drawer and take Plaque 8 and the bottle of Sulphur. (Jeez, I thought they said it was Sulfur, not Sulphur! Whatever).
- Go back to the table beneath the empty frame and follow the recipe. Add the ingredients to the Brass Bowl as follows:
1st. Coal
2nd. Use Pestle to grind Coal.
3rd. Add Sulphur
4th. Add Saltpetre (or "Saltpeter". You say "tomato" and I say "tomahto". Get over it.)
- You have now made Gunpowder!
- Back up and click on the Empty Frame and take Plate 9. (you have to put it in your inventory before the next step).
- Assemble all 9 plates into their proper order to make the Periodic Table of the Elements. (There are any number of websites to view a prototype; here is one: Click Here
- Once the Table is properly assembled, three elements will be in Red. This is the code for the drawer of the Small Table.
- Click on the drawer and take the Gun. So now you have a Gun and you have Gunpowder, it's time to find a Bullet!
- Go back to the Table in the middle of the room and enter the Checkerboard Code (Hint: Think Musical Score)
- Take the Bullet and the Gunpowder and load the Gun.
- Now BLAST YOUR WAY OUT THE DOOR!!!

Solutions

- Tall Cabinet Code: Convert the header from the newspaper (C.I.V.I.L.) into Roman Numerals and enter them.
SPOILER:

10015150

- Letter Code for Small Table Drawer:
The elements in red are Lithium, Beryllium, and Rhenium, so enter LIBERE.

- Checkerboard Code: Look at the eighth notes (the ones with the little tails). Each panel of four notes corresponds to a horizontal row on the board.

link isn't working for me, reload doesn't help either....

Today, the game is available, great !

Not working for me either.... :(

       Anonymous  11/2/10, 3:08 AM

Móóóórning. All you should do is refresh the page (maybe even a couple of times) but eventually it works :-)

       Anonymous  11/2/10, 3:20 AM

I finally got out - with a LOT of help LOL... thanks to all who contributed to my rather slow triumph!
@Zazie, if you come back - did you find the pestle behind the firewood, to crush your coal?

@full, i've tried to refresh the page a 100 times, but still no luck

Hiiiiiiiii Full!
Thanks, I already tried that. I read your comment above, but all I get is Abroy.com with a lot of different studies to choose from. I know that is probably better for me than playing games anyway...
But still, no link to any game WSO.

@ikke, do you get the same site as I do?

I got the same @truus :DD rofl..I thaught it was specially meant for me ( just because my english is always that perfect) :-P

lol @Alkmar, let's go together, might be fun :P.

btw, link is working for me now.
Oops, "games for smart people", no wonder it wouldn't load for me..

@truus and @alkmar, i think we all come from holland? is that why it isn't working for us?
O no, truus you can play, i still can't :-(...

oh..well..I'll wait for another game ;-)

well, I'm out. You guys missed really a greaaaat game!!!
lol, just kidding. It was o.k. but I never would have gotten out without @zoz's walkthrough.
I mean Roman Numerals, Musical Score, Periodic Table of Elements??? Whaaaat???
Do they have studies for that too..?

ikke wel ikke ;) hmm..we have to move to truus place..she has the right connection :DD ( oh and yammi food too)

so, the 2 of you, hop in the car!
I'll be waiting....

Is hop also a english word? lol..well..we will hop in the car and with a fasttrainspeed
( sneltreinvaart) we come to you!!!
be prepared.. ;-)

the games today arent my cup of tea. hoefully they will put out better ones tomorrow

Do you have to finish the periodic table to be able to open the small draw or can you just add the word LIBERE which I tried but wont open, tried reversing out then opening but still no luck, hate when you get right near the end of a game and get stuck sssoooooooooo frustrating, love it when it lets you save the game.

yes, @reddc, unfortunately you do have to get the table together correctly and have the 3 elements turn red on the table before the code will work. i tried skipping that step, too, when I was writing the WT. Sorry!
