I clicked at the man..dog is making sound and put the bone somewhere behind the dog ..on the floor

How do you get past the guard? (after he starts eating and eating and eating .... a really slow chewer!)
The light blink. I've tried clicking on it and on the guy and on the guard and on the guardhouse when the lights blink off, but nothing changes!

Scene 1: Find coin, give to vendor, click guy.
@Puzzledin, take the key from the ground below the guard, then click the man.
Haven't figured out a pattern when the light blinks -- it's every 2, 3, or 5 bites.

OK, Here's a full WT:
Scene 0: click on something in bedroom
Scene 1: Find coin; give to vendor; take hotdog; click hero.
Scene 2: Click hero (guard wakes up); give hotdog to guard; pick up key he drops (on curb); click hero.
Scene 3: Use key on cage to free birds; take bone (base of tree); click hero.
Scene 4: Place bone above grate; click hero.
Scene 5: Click light until red is on top; click hero.
Scene 6: Pick up pink pitcher; dip pitcher in birdbath; water plant in blue pot; pick rose, click hero.
Scene 7: Give rose to hero.
