A little trick from past gotmail games...

mail: gotmail_game@operamail.com
pw: letmein

great! a gotmail game.

loooong loading

going in ... loading

a took an envelope or something from the bin but its not in my inventory

same here April.

clue under desk

got a ladle, a yellow thing and a hint in my inventory

Did that too, I think it moved from the bin to the top of the desk.
Found some letter clues and boots.

Found a hint for picture on the wall. Safe behind it.

opened blue box got heart key

opened the diary, but cant read japanese :(
anyone here for translate?

Oh dip! A gotmail game!

I have only found the yellow thing for the blue box. Where are the other two?

opened the safe

Cool
I mean the one in the deskdrawer

Cool, laddle left of cabinet (next to door).

finally a SD!

April, how did you get the blue box and the safe open.

I never saw a box in the desk drawers?

Blue box - hint under the desk - from each "word" you can only write one number

Safe - click the picture on the floor turn around and open the new page. Wait a few second and a hint appears. then do the math

Coool, a live gotmail. Hi all! Hope I can catch up.

Cool
The bottom drawer - it looks like a calculator

I already have the laddle.
With box, did you mean that calculator looking thingie?

E-mail and PW not working

great find april. Had that site open a long time, but never saw the hint.

Ah ... got it.
Sad news is: I can't read Japanese either.

I did that ... open a new page, but closed it cause I thought ir was an add :(

april, where did you find the screwdriver (you are so far ahead from me)

got the cross down - more japanese

forgot about the photo with the number in deskdrawer...

And now Im soooo stuck

Found the clue, did the calculation, but it does not work on the safe.

For the safe - its a 3 digit number
If i remeber its

H5I4N0T

Cool
(45 + 225 =) 270
(45 + 135 =) 180
So 270 x 180 : 90

That's what I had April, but it did not work the first time :(
Now it does .

Can still use star key, have laddle and yellow and red shape. There is a part behind cross, but can't open it for now.

and 3 letter codes i found (YMO, MA and AAA)
Also one hint note.

Yvon, exactly where you are.

Yvon
Same here

found coffee. In same deskdrawer as picture is.

I think we need water

I am so totally stuck.
Places where we have not done anything yet:
- cabinet nect to door
- lion and lamp
- window shutter
- coffee machine
- the red box (unless that's a clue)

then clues:
- 3 sets of letter combinations
- the note from the red stick

great find, I can certainly use some coffee right now.

water is probably in the fridge

there is also a red safe to be opened.

and then ... I accidently closed the game

Have to go :( I will continue later.

i'm still stucki. Come back later to see if somebody solved it.

Found another clue that I did not see the first time: on the bottom of the box that's in the top drawer there was an umbrella sign.

the note is for the door to the balcony...
HINT

multiply the left and right number for the two center...

Which door to the balcony?

okay ... got to the balcony, found another key for the fridge, got water, made coffee. Think I need a cup from the green cupboard now.

Combined the two keyparts and got out in the hallway, where I found another thingie with a star on it

use magnet on red box with north/south on it for coffee cup.

but code from cup is not working for me. Must be missing something.

i can't reach the balcony... please help!

Great yvon, made coffee, now got yet another clue

franny, multiply the 2 numbers on note so you get the 2 missing nummbers. Use all 4 numbers. Next to box, you see the hint x2. So multiply your answer x2. Insert that number.

Franny use the clue that was given for the number on the paper.
Multiply the 4-digit number by 2 and use that on the door.

I can only read the Chinese characters on the diary
and I guess
P.1 :sth about the reflection of moonlight needs the sunlight
P.2: god of the sun?
P.3 sth about the red color and sun
P.4 sth about darkness and sun

where is the sd??

on what box did you find the umbrella clue cool

thanks!!!! i try!

sd was in box next to red frige i think.

I think that was on the yellow box, on the bottom.
I did not see that the first time, because the box disappears when you get the whatever-it-was from it.
Not sure if there is any use for it either.

been thinking about the lettercode.
I have OOYAMA - AOYAMA - YMO - MA - AAA

Got the arrows hint paper
And letters on he shoes AAA, MA on the globe &
YMO

Hi all, i am on the balcony now, i can see a key under the green cb but i cannot take it.
And what is the code for this balcony cb ?

Zazie, magnet between flowers i think. Combine witch laddle/stick.

still searching for code for balcony cb.

Ahh found the magnet in the flowers, have key now but still no code.

I am also stuck on that cb.
The cb does have a picture of a cup on it, zo ut will prbably have to do with the code in the cup

Where did you use the combined key ?

I believe on the balcony. Go to the flowers and turn left

Zazie, left of flowers is another door.

Ahh thx Cool and Yvon, i will look.

I've tried about everyting with those letters.
Count the number of A, O, M and Y
Add them, multiply them.
And what about the letters under the flowerpot?

Found an earring behind blue bin.

I need someone smarter then me to solve this code i think.

We still have the can with coffee, the cup (which will go when we used the right code I think), the star thingie. All other stuff is gone from the inventory.

Then there's the lamp and lion, the cross and an empty drawer next to the balcony door.

Cool where is the clue you mentionned above after making the coffee ?

Zazie, is that what it is?
I kept calling it the star thingie :)

I cannot thke the can out of coffeemaker.

I think it is an earring Cool.

After you made coffee and you fill the cup, the cup gets empty if you click it. If you have used the right button on the machine you will see a clue. If not .... go make another pot of coffee.

You have to click the cup first and then the can

I can't find the picture on the floor.
Where is it?

Zazie, did you find the red cup yet?

sawa, picture is in middle drawer of desk.

Now i found a cup in the red box and could drink my coffee.

or do you mean the picture behind the painting? (You got of by the arrow note)

now you can help us with the code zazie

And what about the calculator in drawer ?

Zazie, calculator gives you a key for the diary.

...hey folks...just found a new mild escape gamr too...wohoooo...hope i am allowed to post that link:
http://tesshi-m.web.infoseek.co.jp/escape65.html

And what is the code for calculator ?

zazie, see the hint April gave us in the beginning of the game.

Christian ... HOW ??????????????
What's the code for the balcony cb? That's all I want to know

vuk, that game was posted here earlier.

Safe - click the picture on the floor turn around and open the new page. Wait a few second and a hint appears. then do the math.

I mean this picture. Is this the flower picture in the drawer? I can't turn it around.

And the painting. The butterfly painting? I had the clue with the arrows, but I cannot click the edges.

sawa, it's the frame with the picture with the degrees on it. Just click the edges (picture does not move till you do all the clicking).

The cup : A O Y A M A
Count the letters

a = 6
o = 3
Y = 2
a = 6
m = 3
a = 6

632636

No Sawa, it's the picture on the wall right of the fridge, the one with the blue circle and degrees on it.
You can get it off the wall by clicking the corners in a certain order. The order is on one of the clue papers.

thanks Christian. Would never counted the letters of all the other words i found.

Well now i have the cross, now what ?

And thx Christian for the code !!

Zazie, put it behind the other cross in the room.

Out now.
I was so close. Just made the mistake of counting all the letters including the one in the cup.

Thx Christian

Got it, i am out too.

Can anyone here help me with the code of he box near the door?
With the number paper...

Lottie, see the earlier comments.

@Yvon
Sorry but I really cannot calculate the numbers
Can you please Spoiler?

I dont find a number paper. Where is it?

sorry, did not wrote it down. Look at the last numbers on the note. The 2 numbers with XX between them. Multiply those 2 numbers. Then use first number, your answer and last number. Gives you a 4 digit number. That number x2 is the code.

snd, it was inside the red shape i think.

@yvon...ok then sry...thought to tell u good news...but funny they have release date 27.10.2011...maybe check it out again...i dint see it here before...but anyway...time to try that gotmil game...

Yvon, I'am missing that one also.

snd, really don't remember where i found that one. Just follow the comments from the beginning. You will find it.

@ Yvon
thanks so much
I nearly stuck here for over 30 minutes...

Vuk, if you get stuck on the Tesshi-e game, look here
http://www.escapegames24.com/2011/10/escape-from-woody-room-walkthrough.html

@Lotti and snd: I think it was 4XX8, that makes

SPOLIER4328SPOILER for the first step, then

SPOILER8656SPOILER for the number to input in the blue box beside the door.

can't find that d..n red stick with number not

thx yvon...wow that was fast...i was checking the tesshi site nearly everyday...exept yesterday...and voilá...u all already played it...lol...

Hi. I've done the math for the box in the bottem drwawer, but it doesn't work for me. I've put 540 in the calculator and pushed the red button. Help please.

Please, can someone tell me how to find that red shaped thing?

@kees...u dont have to do maths for that...under the desk there are 4 "words" written...u can make a number of each word...so u will have 4 numbers

Where are all the words for the cupboard code? I Have ony AAA YMO and MA

@VUK maybe I'm to blond this time, but I don't understand how. If I count all the letters of the first 'word' (A=1) than it becomes 173=11=2.
Is that what you mean?

       Anonymous  10/28/11, 6:05 AM

@Kees:

The first "word" is SONNIWGRXAOO. Using (in this case three of) these letters, in the sequence they are in, you can make out the word of a number:

SonnIwgrXaoo --> SIX

@K.P.Norlin ... I'm getting less blond (not so fast). Thanks.

@ April
one set of letters is under the plant outside the balcony....
btw do you have any clue for the code of the green cupboard??

I found the heart shaped key, it opens the diary... and everything is written in Japanese ! )))-:

I have a useless stick, useless rubber boots... This game is desperating (Gotmail games are always desperating, btw).

Lottie thnx! Missed that one. For the green cupboard look at Christian & Odden 10/28/11 4:59 AM

Could anybody please explain what to do after we open the diary in Japanese ?! Somebody said that there was a new page somewhere in the game, but I don't find it.

Got the paper with arrows but can´t do anything with my pic.

Can someone tell me where is coffee bean?

       Anonymous  10/28/11, 6:59 AM

The clue paper with arrows refers to the notice board (with the dark blue picture of a starry heaven and compass degrees). I doesn't fall down or move at all until you click the last point in the click series.

So. Click the corners of the notice board in the order stated in the clue. The board drops to the floor, revealing a hidden safe in the wall behind it.

Back out and then zoom in on the board (on the floor), click it to turn it around and then click the picture on its back-side. A new tab/window will open.

Go to the new tab/window and wait. A new clue that relates to the star map and degrees picture appears. Solve the equation.

Put the solution into the password field of the wall safe and click OK.

       Anonymous  10/28/11, 7:02 AM

The coffee beans are found in the same drawer as the postcard with a flower motive and the date 11.7.23.

Zoom in on the postcard, then click the inner parts of the drawer (behind the postcard). There are the coffee beans inside a green container.

       Anonymous  10/28/11, 7:04 AM

One of you who finished the game should write a (good) walkthrough.

In the meantime, you should answer snd's question:

Where do we find the red shape/rod (and with it the note it contains)?

magnet???? cant find it

just got it...THOSE flowers were meant...

       Anonymous  10/28/11, 7:21 AM

So no one will help, then?

Red shape. Where? How?

       Anonymous  10/28/11, 7:40 AM

I'm having a really crappy autist's day here, and can't keep my head clear enough to figure out everything by myself today. So, please, some help here?

I need help, too, because I've read all comments but it is not said where things were found. Could someone post a walthrough, please? Thanks!

found yellow shape in boots. There's a note with arrows inside the shape. But red shape? magnet?

       Anonymous  10/28/11, 7:55 AM

Red shape:

The flower picture in the middle desk drawer has a date. Remove the dots and you have the password for the little box in your inventory (I think that is found in the wall safe, see above). Inside is a key.

Use key on box with blue lid to the right of the refrigerator. Inside that box is a screwdriver.

Zoom in on the top of the cross on the wall (to the left of the fridge). Use the screwdriver and back out. Behind the cross is a hole in the wall, with the red tube/shape inside.

thanks K.P!!

For green cupboard on the balcony:

You need to find four letter clues of varying length:

OOYAMA (under the floor-standing plant pot)
YMO (on the left roll down curtain, bottom rod)
MA (on the back of the world map pencil stand)
AAA (on the sole of the right shoe in the cupboard to the left of the balcony door)

… and drink strong enough coffee to be able to see the solution clue in side the coffee cup:

AOYAMA

Count the letters (A's, O's, Y's and M's) and then replace the letters in AOYAMA with the corresponding numbers. (See this post by Christian & Odden).

I made a video walkthrough of this game
watch it if you need help
some annotations have been added in the video as a reference

Okay, maybe I'm dense, but I like to think I'm not. So I'm gonna ask this.

Forgive me if I sound rude, but everyone keeps talking about "note with arrows" and "picture on floor." WHERE ARE THOSE THINGS?! I cannot find them. There is no picture on the floor, first of all. Not a single one. There's not even a picture NEAR the floor, they are all high on the walls. I'm not sure what you mean.

Is it on the floor of something ELSE? Sawa asked this same question, and someone responded "it's in the middle drawer of the desk." Floor and drawer are not the same, and if you mean "on the floor of the drawer," that's fine (although it's silly to say), but you have to SPECIFY THAT.

At any rate, *IT'S NOT TRUE. AT ALL.* Because that picture does *NOTHING.* I can't turn it over, it doesn't open a new page. Nothing at all. So where is this picture?

Secondly, where is the arrow note? Everyone talks about finding it, but no one says where. For that matter, where is the ladle? Is it the silver thing next to the shoe cabinet? That doesn't look like a ladle to me, but I don't know. I know a ladle to be the big spoons you serve soup with. So where is the ladle? Please? Anyone?

The "arrow note":

To the left of the door (which leads to the balcony) is a cupboard. Zoom in on that and open it.

Inside you find a pair of boots. Take those and then view them in "About item".

Click on the boots in the About view to turn them over, which makes a yellow rod fall out.

Examine the yellow rod in the About view and click it. It can be opened, and inside is a note with arrows.

After you've come that far, see my post about the use of the note (here, hope it works, otherwise it was posted at 10/28/11 6:59 AM).

Thank you for the excellent WT, KP and to Gotmail. Another great game (even if I am rubbish on my own).

I usually love gotmail games, but this one is "all about the math" and so i find it not very interesting as the others thay have produced...it's tedious to constantly have to mutiply, divide numbers upon numbers....I'd rather be putting things together, or finding parts etc....if i wanted to do math, i'd be an accountant...

Miller has got a point here, the graphics can easily compete with Tesshi-e standards (which definitely does mean something!)
Maybe they can even cause Tesshi-e to leave the pole position, pushing her(?) to 2nd rank :)

I'm with michele-with-pug. When I saw the second clue paper with math, I just quit the game. It may be that someone posted a spoiler, but I didn't know what to do. Multiply 3 numbers two times???? What does that mean? The WT doesn't give a spoiler for that, so I just quit. I think that's why the rating was not so high...usually like these games, though.

Addendum to Miller's walkthrough:

>- zoom on cross, flip it over and take SUN SHAPED KEY

This was a little confusing, to be honest.

It should actually read:

"zoom on white cross on the floor, flip it over, insert black cross and take SUN SHAPED KEY from secret compartment you've just opened"

Took me a while to figure out that I am not supposed to flip over the black cross in the About Item view.

This game really needs two walkthroughs, because Miller's [although fantastic as a hint-giver] is confusing in a lot of places.
Particularly to people unaccustomed to gotmail games.

[Here we go again with the addenda, arbeitslooser, haha].

I've got so stuck [so far] at just about every pixel-hunting point in this game, so I will try to clear some parts. Consider this a partial hand-hold for Miller's walkthrough.

Right at the start, the object I'd found in the wellie was a yellow tube. Maybe in the game later it turns out to be a tile, but for lost people so far, it is a tube.

In Miller's second view "go left and click on the cupboard....." there is no cupboard.
The directions clue from the paper need to be applied to the PICTURE.
I was trying to click corners of that long board in the middle of the wall for a while.

I hate things that require me to click open another tab [because of my very small pc issue, and therefore is personal], but I saw no active link to click. What Miller means is that clicking the image on the back of the pinboard will open a link in another tab.

Even the "table view" had me looking around for a table. I'd become so out-of-tune with this game that the slightest thing caused me to flounder. [Not your fault, Miller - all gotmail's =) ].
He means "desk view"

Then, after struggling to play this for far too long, we hit the second paper hint.
Apart from meaning I will have to open my calculator and therefore lose my internet connection, WHAT NUMBER, Miller?
8045, 3248, 3186, 4x x8.......squiggle-squiggle-4-squiggle-squiggle
eh?

Like Zoe, this is where I gave up.

I'm sure gotmail games used to be fun?
It was a fight to get into the game, for a start.
Yesterday nothing happened at all, and today I had no visible characters in the user name/password fields.
Leroy's trick of "aaa" in both worked today, though, so I went to watch paint dry while the game finally began to load.

This game is absolutely NOT small-pc- or user-friendly.
Nothing I entered in-game was visible, either, but I guessed i could be a problem and coped with that.

The graphics are good - almost as good as Tesshi-e, but the gameplay is a fight, which to me isn't fun.
Pixel-hunting is rife. Too high for a game with such nicely-created scenes.
Randomly and illogically-placed objects are found by luck or by sheer dogged clickathons, and I didn't encounter one nice Tesshi-e-type puzzle in the short time that I played.
Guessing games will never be rated highly by me, or games that make me lose my internet!!!!!

I also gave up at the point with the note with the 4 digit numbers. I usually enjoy gotmail games even if I need a lot of help to finish them but didn't care for this one.

so thx a lot @Lottie!)

MATH

(btw, still playing...)

       Anonymous  10/30/11, 9:06 AM

Phew - finally out!
Ridicule is nothing to be scared of:
- tried to use the arrow hint on the red box with magnetic needle...
- missed coffee back in middle drawer of desk...
- as a coffee teetotaler ;-D, I drank lot of cups before I noticed, that I have to push the LEFT button on coffee machine...
- never thought of put the star & moon key together...
- still asking myself (didn't replay - yet...), if there's another end, when we don't take the stud behind bin in lift corridor...
Therefore:
Thx L&G, for all your comments & hints, @Miller for a creative WT ;-D & @Lottie again for the vid WT (I would have been drinking coffee for ever without it, LOL)!

I am always amazed at the propensity of people to complain and blame, when they are only disappointed in themselves!

Those complaining about the math in this game are not so hasty to admit that there is no math beyond a grade-4 level. Multiplication tables, order of operations equations.

Don't blame gotmail because you are too lazy to multiply! This isn't calculus.

Note: This is not a game for impatient people!

Lost Article is an intriguing game with many rooms and different sorts of puzzles, ranging from basic math to abstract shapes, tied together beautifully with a poetic celestial theme.

I enjoyed it more than most recent Gotmail games. The puzzles are challenging yet have simple down-to-earth solutions. I was engaged for more than an hour.

However due to its large size and detailed graphics, it has a slower load time than many simpler one-room escape games. I have a poor PC so my game lagged considerably, and crashed once during gameplay. Thankfully Gotmail included a SAVE button for low-bandwith escapers.

@andr01d, I think that having mulitple math problems in an escape game is "the eze way" to create clues and problems for escapers to solve. It's much more involved and take more design skill for the game designer to have puzzles and connecting pieces etc.. math roblems after math problems to me is dull and tedious and not "fun"... so its not the "4th grade math" that I'm complaining about, its the lack of imagination, and using only math problems as the means to progress in the game....

I really need help with the second note...its been years since I went to school and I cant recall any math..:o(

Errr...the english version is...bugged?!? I can't enter the zero into the safe, nor can I use the same number on the number pad next to the door... I've never had such an interesting bug.

Can't get very far -- I'm unable to enter the number zero in the safe behind the corkboard (which happens to be part of the solution!)

Same thing in the Japanese version now.

[I also noticed the safe wouldn't let you you enter the letter Z and certain letters can't be capitalized.]
Quality Control is definitely not being done!

Can't even use cut and paste to enter the safe code, so the game is unplayable.

I cant insert 540 in the safe. Only two numbers!
Please help!

the same for me @puzzled... can't enter the 0
:(

Hi
I've found on one of japanese sites that there is a bug - input code is impossible

code is working now

AT MILLER walkthrough. Thanks, I was a bit stuck trying to get the fridge open. I didn't think of using a half key.

If you don't want to get any help and solve the games yourself, you shouldn't scroll down the comments page for not spoiling your escaping games. Show your escaping skills by playing online escape games everyday. We also publish adventure games, point and click games, hidden object games, puzzle games, and riddle games. Good luck and have fun!
