I think the puzzle is sudoku but different :s
Nooms, which puzzle? Did not find a puzzle so far.
hey! having a huge hangover, but will try anyways ;-)...
so far I found 5 x-mas balls, SD (used), key and a paper hint
Found several xmas baubles and a key no idea what to do now
no puzzle for me either
Behind the Sanata picture after you unlock it with a key. The bits up to there are pretty straightforward. Collect baubles (put them on the tree), a hint from under tv, a sd from far right room drawer, and key from under tv (uses sd).
Casual, same here.
Sanata = Santa
thanks Nooms! must find a way how to unlock the pic with key...
My x-mas balls won't go into the tree and can't open santa safe with key. Bug??
It seems a bit pixelly, maybe. I had to have a few tries at the balls and the key hole.
Good morning and best wishes today
What do I do with 5 balls a key and paper clue?
Can't get to the santa pic to open it?
You have to put the ornaments on the right spot on the tree. Took me a bit.
@Yvon: the balls will go on the tree. you just have to find the correct spot.
SPOILER
red goes lower left
dark blue lower right
orange/brown center right
green center left
purple upper area
finally it worked to get the balls into the tree. Symbol shows. Now have present. After that i could zoom into the santa safe.
hmm, still can't take the present, although I placed all balls and saw the sign on wall and present...
suddenly it worked. don't know why...
You have to put the ornaments on the right spot on the tree. Took me a bit.
but no idea what to do with the puzzle.
Can't be < is smaller then. Make no sense with the 1.
The puzzle still has me stumped, too. Been clicking everywhere to see if I missed a hint but not getting anywhere.
same here. no idea what to do or where to start
isn't the sign a zodiac? maybe it has something to do with it?!
Drag the numbers onto board
Hi - catching up
I have got a key and a "white gift" but I cannot zoom into the santa picture ??
Good thinking, Casual! I was just looking at arrow sudoku to see if maybe it matches - http://www.sachsentext.de/en/taxonomy/term/287
pop - you have to take the gift box first
Try from the view of the picture and the door, SwissMiss?
its sudoku - meaning in every square, vertical and horizontal there have to be numbers 1-9
left of the 6 in the middle is the 9 - because it is bigger then the 6,top and bottom number
Ohhh, yes you do. The white one is the hint, I think.
<3 means the one to the left is smaller
>3 means the one to the left is bigger
The less/greater than theory fails in the first box since nothing is less than 1.
oh god, if it's really an arrow soduko it definitely would overburden me right now in my condition...
Nope the arrow theory failed too :(
Been having a lovely Christmas, Casual? :D
nooms you are right - no 1 does not work with lesser/bigger
yep, like I ecpected: don't get anything you guys are talking about...what is x < 1? there is no 0 and everything is bigger than 1, so leave x empty or what?
but if it is not lesser/bigger then I cannot see any other clue
well casual - as we found out - the lesser/bigger does not work - because that 1 is wrong
so clueless - and that before 1st drink lol
read somewhere that the 9 has an arrow to the 1.
That can't work in the first square either, Yvon. 9 would also have to be less than 3 other numbers.
perhaps it means that <3 means the difference to the next number is more than 1 and >3 means the difference is just 1, i.e. 2 or 4
and if 1 is "bigger" then = 9 - then there would be 2 times 9 in the first grid
oops my theory also fails in first grid
we need small-tool or Edgar for that
i think in this puzzle < means <-. Otherwise < means bigger then.
It's worth a try, SwissMiss!
glad, it's not just my hangover which causes the stagnancy...have to make more coffee and see if a POP comes along.
imho, everything very far fetched...
Libra is seventh astrological sign. Can it be some weird math that centers around 7? e.g. 7> 6> ..> 1> 0>9>8 or something like that?
they should really give a better clue for this
jocker - I thought it was the 9th - not that it makes a difference lol
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libra_%28astrology%29
I stand corrected lol
Can't be a real arrow path sudoku.
Read that the rules are this: Apply standard Sudoku rules. In a 3x3 box there are arrows in each cells. The arrows in a particular 3x3 box, 1 points to 2, 2 points to 3,....,8 points to 9 and 9 points to 1.
So must be that < is smaller then.
no it is not Yvon - we established that because all our theories are down the drain with our first grid
Well, I don't think the game is worth more than an hour of my life :) I'll stop by later and see if anyone cracks it.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone. Thanks for the company!
I can put any number in any field - 3 3's etc.
can we just put 7 everywhere?
But maybe the logic is that when you must go smaller than 1, you start again with 9 or 8, 7.
Or maybe the maker of the game made a mistake ;-D
okay, cracked the game, but still don't understand it...
shall I'll post the full spoiler or just one box so you can figure out the system behind it?
casual - please give the whole spoiler and can you give an idea about the system please
how did you work it out please
as I said before, no idea why...
cracking in terms of not using my brain, but computer power.
not very noble, sorry, but I was very desperate
but in the second grid you have two 5's
I think 457 is 427 lol
oops, sorry! typo....
765 913 428
214 658 793
839 427 615
476 189 532
321 765 849
598 342 176
943 576 281
687 231 954
152 894 367
so you hacked it Casual
I cannot see any logic in this game - and shall check later if someone finds an explanation
oh of course "hacked". brain and body not working 100% ;)
who gave this game 5 starts? Must be drunker than me!
no logic indeed SwissMiss. Just think the maker made some mistakes with the arrows.
I starTed only twice.. ;-)
new game. need help (again), lol
I believe > means greater than. > is correct most of the time in the solution :)
Well, I found some explanations by googling, but watch out, this is quite a lucubration, LOL!
(click right to open link in a new tab)
HOW TO SOLVE GREATER THAN SUDOKU PUZZLER
puzzleS... (not fully awake yet, here, LOL)
that's nice premiere. Only problem is that this is NOT greater than sudoku ;)
I believe the idea is that > holds most of the time, e.g. in every row and in every column it holds at least once. Of course, this makes the puzzle VERY difficult.
Good find, Premiere and thanks for the solution Casual.
It looks like we were right with the greater than theory then, and the game was wrong. That sucks.
just because it is not greater than sudoku doesn't mean the game is wrong :)
U guys are amazing! Thanks all for the help.
sudokus give me fits anyway, but this one! on eggnog, good grief charlie brown.
well it does look like a "greater than suduko", but some of the arrows are all wrong. I hate trying to solve puzzles that have been made unsolvable by mistakes by the game's creator.
btw, @premiere, thanks for that link! At least I learned a new puzzle format today!
Wow.. this room fails!
Casual thank you for taking the time to post solution to santa picture puzzle I would not have been able to finish without your help.
