Now to find the hint for the 4-digit code next to the window.
ReplyDeletes-t
ReplyDeletethe 4 digit refers to the TV book hints
What hint did you use for the 4-digit code Lottie?
ReplyDeleteThanks jillydoc, found it. Now trying to catch up with the code for the window...
ReplyDeleteThe window code is the PC file + lefthand four DVDs/books under the TV.
ReplyDeleteBut what is the PC file?
ReplyDeleteHm, still don't get it 3569 doesn't work for me?
ReplyDeletereplay now
ReplyDeleteby the way
I know the keyboard somehow is related to the yellow word after using the bookmark on the yellow object
but seems that I have never use the 5ID6LXR hint?
No s-t, they are saying add 3569 to a PC code, but I never saw one.
ReplyDeleteLeave for 5 minutes and someone is out. More hints on the code please?
ReplyDeleteCan't even open the pc-file anymore?
ReplyDeleteEach of the bracketed words in the file is the title of one of the books - put them in the order they appear in in the file and you'll have the correct code.

ReplyDeleteUgh, what a relief!
ReplyDeleteLeaving your appartment key outside of your window is a VERY safe solution.....hum
ReplyDeleteTnx Lottie, but no idea why it's 5936 (cannot read japanese characters that way)
Thanks Lottie :)
ReplyDeleteYay! Thanks for all your help everyone! I went back and saw the post from Garnet, missed it earlier.
ReplyDeletePfew, finally out.
ReplyDeleteGood game, great teamwork!?
BTW why would anyone rate this game a 1, let alone 2 persons? Maybe the rating should be turned of if it's abused like this.
ReplyDeleteLukruna
ReplyDeletethe piano with different symbols
you should get the paper aeroplane first
(use the bookmark on the picture on wall's gap)
it tells you how the number on guitar related to the symbols which you need to press 3 timess...
replay 2 more times and see if I can make a video walkthrough...guhhhhhh
ReplyDeleteHm, okay, out without really understanding half of the hints. I will replay it when there is an english version and will judge about it then.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the help!!!
Ah, played again and now I see about the end-code It's indeed just the words/characters inside brackets on the pc file that you use from top to bottom. Those are the same words/characters that are on the books.
ReplyDeleteGreat find Lottie and Garnet :)
I can not cope with the piano, something I uncomprehending
ReplyDeleteFor the piano;
ReplyDeleteYou have to see the hints first before it works.
The hint on the paper plane and the hint on the guitar. Maybe on the guitar you even have to zoom in on the top part of the strings to see the string numbers.
Then on the piano click; down triangle = X
And then you can take the key back you used to open the piano.
replay done~
ReplyDelete& finally out, too.

Great game (as usual, just forget about the language barrier, LOL)!
As I missed the first play part live, I was far behind, so I played in the background & a bit along the comments...
Therefore:
Thx, L&G, for all your hints - some of them I needed very much (esp. those, that broke the language barrier away)...!
☺ ☻ ☺
ufff... out
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your help
For this game, I used Paint even more...

Could anyone please show me/us a screenshot where to place that necklace? I always get the box with the letters in my zoom, it's getting annoying.
ReplyDeleteThe description did not let me find it...
Unless there are some prerequisites for the close zoom to work...?
POP Yes!!! I swear I've been at this spot many times, but there was nothing to see!
ReplyDeleteJust did these two steps:
- opened box with letters, got key
- opened bottom board of coffee table, got keycard
And automagically, the spot on the bookcase showed and I could place the necklace.
So you first got to LEARN this spot exists.
Could someone please provide a walkthrough? I cannot get the DVD to play and nobody's suggested how to do so in the messages above.
ReplyDeleteSiobhán Long's sister,
ReplyDeleteThe DVD doesn't give a real moving picture on the tv. It only changes the screen a bit.
If you did the code and the DVD in (and you can't zoom in anymore on the code panel) then it's working.
It gives the hint to use ABCGAB on the letter code box. But you have to visit the other site as well to make it work (the other site by clicking the backside of the note in the bedroom drawer).
To get the symbols to appear on the picture I had to have the curtains closed again.
ReplyDeleteOk. gonna start a Walkthrough, but not sure if I'm gonna finish it (not really in the mood. So if somebody wants to, feel free to take over. :)
ReplyDeleteHere's part 1;

ReplyDeleteWALKTHROUGH part 1
ReplyDeleteBtw. the intro story is (I stole it from Nordinho);
"That person" was my greatest rival...
She took pleasure in making fiendish escape games,
and I would escape every one of them.
Then, one day, we fell in love...
She would spend all day working on escape games,
and I would play sad piano music for the intro.
But I haven't played a single thing since she died three years ago.
One day, I got a letter from her.
It said,
"I designed this room when I was your rival.
Please escape this room and get over my death you sissy."
I'm unemployed, so I might as well.
Let's SUPER ESCAPING!!
DOOR, PLANT ON THE LEFT
- Zoom in on the shelves and zoom all the way in on the hand. Click the hand so it turns and take KEY 1.
- Zoom in on the shelves and zoom all the way in on the FROG and take it.
- In your inventory; look at the frog, open it and take KEY 2.
- GO LEFT.
DOOR, PLANT ON THE RIGHT
- Zoom all the way in on the fruit basket on the table and take the REMOTE.
- Zoom in on the door and use key 1 on the knob to open it and go in.
BEDROOM
- Zoom in on the bed and then zoom further in under the bed and take the FLASHLIGHT.
- Zoom in on the bed and then zoom further in on the pillows and take the NECKLACE from under the right pillow.
- Zoom in on the drawers right next to the bed. Open the top one and take BATTERY 1. Open the bottom drawer and see the note. It says la, si, do, sol, la si (and in letters that would be A, B, C, G, A, B). This is the hint for the letterbox but it only works after you have done some things; The first thing you have to do is (not sure why, but you have to do it to make the letterbox work later in the game): Click the note to see the backside and click that backside to get another site. Not sure if this is enough, so to be sure, also click all the pianokey sets.. But still, the code won't work. For that you first have to make the tv and DVD work, but that will be later.
- Zoom in on and open the closet doors. Use key 2 (on the keyhole) to open the top left drawer and take BATTERY 2. In your inventory; look at the flashlight, click the backside, open it and take the RED CARD put the 2 batteries in, close it and now you have a WORKING FLASHLIGHT. Zoom in on the top side inside the closet and then use your flashlight there to see a door. Open the door and put the frog there. no idea at all why, but I guess it triggers something .
- Zoom all the way out and out of the bedroom and go to the view with...
WINDOW WITH CURTAINS
- In your inventory; take the batteries back from the flashlight and put them inside the remote and now you have a WORKING REMOTE. Look at the remote and see you can change it to work for TV, for DVD and the third option is CURTAINS and the fourth option is LIGHTS. For now put it on the third option.
- Zoom in on the curtains and zoom further in on the thingy on the top left. Use the remote on it and the curtains will open.
- Zoom in on the bottom left of the window and take the DVD from behind the curtain.
- GO RIGHT (2x).
DOOR, PLANT ON THE RIGHT
WALKTHROUGH part 2
ReplyDeleteDOOR, PLANT ON THE RIGHT
- Look at the DVD and open it. There are musical notes on the DVD. It's a 1/8 note, a 1/16 note and a 1/2 note, so the code is 8162
- Zoom all the way in on the DVD player. Put your remote on DVD and use it on the dvd and dvd and the tv turn on. Zoom in on the code panel and put in 8162 and click the red button. Now you can open the DVD-player and put the DVD in. Close it and look at the tv. It has a different screen now and it probably says again something about the the notes being ABCGAB and now that code works (and again; the note in the bedroom drawer already says ABCGAB, but it only works after you have seen the other site and after you made the dvd work to see the text on the tv).
- GO RIGHT.
DOOR, PLANT ON THE LEFT
- Zoom all the way in on the wooden box on the shelves and put in the code ABCGAB and then click enter. It won't open right away, zoom out and zoom in again to open it and take KEY 3. And again; only works after visiting the other site and after seeing (maybe even clicking) the text on the tv when the DVD is working.
- And by opening the wooden letterbox you also triggered another hotspot. Zoom in on the shelves (1x) and now you can zoom further in on the place to the left of the wooden box. There's a musical note and you can hang the necklace there. It activates the code panel behind the red bin below the shelves.
- GO LEFT.
DOOR, PLANT ON THE RIGHT
- Zoom in on the table and zoom in under the table and use key 3 on the keyhole under that table and then click it to open it and take the ID-CARD.
- In your inventory; put the remote back on CURTAINS again (third option; the one after DVD).
- GO RIGHT (2x).
WINDOW WITH CURTAINS
- Zoom in on the window again and further in on the thingy on the top left and use the remote to close the curtains.
- In your inventory; put the remote on the fourth option LIGHTS and use it on the lamp next to the picture.
- With the curtains closed and the light off something changed on the picture. Zoom in on the picture (and to be sure click it). There's now Japanese text and the same heart as on the necklace (and the same heart as on the code panel behind the red bin). It seems the Japanese text on the pic. says Christmas and that's your hint.
- GO LEFT.
DOOR, PLANT ON THE LEFT
- Zoom in on the red bin, click it to remove it and zoom further in on the code panel behind it. The hint was Christmas and that's on december 25, so type in 1225 and click enter and it unlocks (only works after you used the necklace and saw the hint on the picture).
- And now the shelves are gone and a pc screen popped up. Use key 2 on the keyhole on the pc. Zoom in on (and maybe click) the pc-screen (in that way you activate the left slot on the pc). Now zoom further in on the slots above that keyhole and put the ID-card in the left slot. Zoom out and all the way in again (and maybe click) on the pc screen (in that way you activate the right slot). Now zoom in on the slots again and put the red card in the right slot. And again zooming in and clicking the screen and then you can click the below the pc screen to let the keyboard and mouse come out. Zoom in on the keyboard and click it. Nothing happens, but now you can click the mouse and take KEY 4 (diary key) from under the mouse.
WALKTHROUGH part 3
ReplyDelete- GO BACK TO THE...
BEDROOM
- Zoom in on and open the closet. Open the bottom right drawer and click the diary. Open it with key 4 and go throug the pages till you find the SILVER BOOKMARK.
- Zoom in on the drawers next to the bed and put that bookmark on the yellow thing below the lamp and switch the lamp on. Zoom out and zoom in (1x) on the closet again and now there are letters and numbers on the wall (this activates a hotspot above the couch, to be sure click that wall).
- Zoom in on the drawers and take the bookmark back.
- Back to the main room, the view with...
DOOR, PLANT ON THE RIGHT
- Now, you can zoom in on the picture above the couch. Put the bookmark in the slot on the top right, click the picture and then you can take a TRIANGLE SHAPED PAPER from the bottom right of the picture.
- In your invewntory; Look at that paper, click it and it becomes a paper plane. Take KEY 5 (the red one) from it and see the hint 5-3 2-1 6-2 (first digits inside a circle). And to be sure again, click it.
- GO LEFT.
BIG WINDOW, PIANO
- Zoom all the way in on the guitar (to be sure, click it) to see the hint. And to be really sure also zoom in on the top of the guitar to see the digits inside circles. Now combine this info with the hint from the paper plane. So the code is 5-3 and that's TRIANGLE DOWN, 2-1 and that's = and 6-2 and that's X.
- Zoom all the way in on the piano and open it with the red key. Zoom in on the key and use the code you just found. So click that triangle down key, the = key and the X key and now you can take the red key back. It's a little bit changed.
- GO LEFT (2x)
DOOR, PLANT ON THE LEFT
- Zoom in on the pc and then on the keyboard, click on the keyboard (and maybe on the mouse too, to activate the file on the screen). Zoom in on the screen and open the file. For this part you don't really need to know Japanese. From top to bottom there are 4 parts of Japanese inside brackets. Remember them.
- GO LEFT.
DOOR, PLANT ON THE RIGHT
- Zoom in on the books under the tv and see the left books have the same Japanese characters as on the screen inside the brackets. If you follow the screen from top to bottom then it's on books; 5 - 9 - 3 - 6. That's your code.
- GO RIGHT (2x).
WINDOW WITH CURTAINS
- Put remote on the third option again and open the the curtains again.
- Zoom in on the panel on the right side of the window and open it with your modified red key. Zoomm further in and put in that code (5936) from the pc-screen and book hints and click the bottom right red button and it says ok.
- Now zoom in on the top right of the window and you can open that little window. Zoom further in on the red device and click it a few times and a key will be pulled up. Take that LAST KEY.
- GO LEFT.
DOOR, PLANT ON THE LEFT.
- Zoom in on the door, use that last key on the knob and go out and you're out.
Great WT just one point. when I had the bookmark I had to turn it over in inventory before I could zoom pic above the sofa.
ReplyDeleteJust means anyone playing you should click on everything to ensure you can move forward.
The person in the Nordinho thread made up that intro. If anyone's interested, I did a quick translation of the real one:
ReplyDeleteOne day, out of the blue, I got a letter of challenge from a friend.
"In my room lies a mystery.
If you have the courage to take on this challenge, you can go there.
It's okay if you get scared and run away.
If that happens, I'll bestow the title of 'loser' upon you!"
I decided to take on his challenge.
When I got to my friend's room, the door locked automatically.
I could hear a voice coming from somewhere:
"This is a locked room.
Can you escape from it?"
(...I think I liked the made-up one better.)
it seems that, no matter what I do, I can't get the close-up of the picture above the sofa. I tried leaving the bedside light on, turning it off, clicking on the wall where the 5ID code appears, turning the bookmark over in inventory (thanks for that hint @Leroy!), leaving the bookmark in the yellow glob while I try to zoom on the picture, etc etc. Maybe I'll try going around the room once before trying to zoom. After that, I'm out of ideas.
ReplyDeleteI think GotMail has something against me!
Oops Zoz,
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's like Leroy said; Maybe look at the bookmark and turn it around to see the Japanese on it, before it works.
Hm. that was a silly post. Just read your post again and you already said; turning the bookmark over in inventory.
ReplyDeleteWell, all I can say now is; maybe looking isn't enough, but really click it when you look.

ReplyDeleteHey small-tool, what about a little team effort? :) Well, I thought I too should do a little counterpart to your WT which obviously took a helluva lot of time to finish.
ReplyDeleteYou wondered what that frog is for, well, now i know.
It's also a necessary step to activate the heart code panel, which does not take 2, but 3 prerequisites!
As follows:
1. Japanese "representation" of code must have been checked on picture w/curtains closed | lights off
2. Necklace must be positioned where it belongs.
AND ALSO (!)
3. Frog must be seated in its compartment in the back wall of closet.
Just tried it out!
Didn't touch either flashlight or frog until I had to!
Spotted code, placed necklace ... heart still did not highlight in red!
So I placed the frog and ...
voila!
OK me again...
ReplyDeleteID-entification on the PC is really a bit tricky. It's rather not about zooming in or out, but about CLICKING ON THE SCREEN!
- You use the key to unlock PC. OK.
- You try to get ID card in once, zoom out, try to get it in twice, NADA. Same with red SD card.
"Solution":
- LOOK at ID card in inventory.
- LOOK at PC screen (click!)
(should write something with "...ID..." in Japanese)
- Put in ID card.
- LOOK at PC screen again (!)
(should write something intellegibile in Japanese, 2 full lines)
- Insert SD card.
And you can use the PC!
zoz
ReplyDeleteThe reason is simple: we all activated the wall view without knowing THAT we did!
Just by typing on the keyboard, that is.
We probably did that without thinking about it, and that's why we got that view.
So don't mess around with the bookmark by turning back and forth, it doesn't have to do anything with that.
Press any key on the PC keyboard (pull out keyboard tray first if needed) and the view will activate! 100% sure! (tested 3 times)
I pressed a "2" just for testing. You do NOT need to type in the whole code shown on the wall left of the closet.
Aaah, Thanks for the extra info Arbeitslooser.
ReplyDeleteI already knew, before I started to write, it would be a lousy WT, because I didn't understand what triggered what (but someone had to do it, I mean it's a Gotmail and we're EG24, right?).
Anyway, with your great extra info we really did crack this game :)
Not yet, my friend!
ReplyDeleteWe should at last figure out that mysterious code on the wall...however, I THINK I'm onto something...
5 I D 6 L X R
on the PC keyboard, with Latin AND Japanese characters "translates" to the Japanese phrase
えにしおりちす
Google Translate says something about a bookmark (yes, the one from the diary!) to be placed (?) immediately (?) but I think our Japanese speakers will be able to translate it much better than a machine can.
Ahhhh....I was just about to give up because the zoom above the sofa was just not happening!!!! I decided to read past the excellent WT and TY TY TY @leroy!!!! Just had to turn over the darned bookmark and voila!!! lol picky picky game but very nice!!!!!
ReplyDeletenokra, I had the same problems, but after going to the computer view and type the keyboard, the picture is activited
ReplyDeletejust reopened the game and went straight to the keyboard (thank goodness for the SAVE feature!) and typed "5ID" and, voila! The picture above the sofa is now zoomable! Thank you so much @arbeitslooser for solving that. I knew that, if I posted my problem, some enterprising gamer would come along with an answer.
ReplyDeleteNow back to the game.
Oh, and I tried using "aaa" as my email and password this time, as someone earlier had suggested, and it worked just fine.
great zoz, I was sure it would work! =) I never post traps :)
ReplyDelete@arbeitslooser: if you still want to know about the 5ID6LXR code, I had a lot of problems translating that one too. The Japanese is actually えにしおりさす (you reversed the 6th one), and electronic translators do all sort of different things with it. But I found one solution that seems to make sense, see hard to translate.
ReplyDeleteJust adding a full stop at the end made google come up with something new ;).
But as you said, only a real Japanese speaker can resolve it completely...
Thanks a bunch Helanren - you have no idea HOW MUCH this makes sense!
ReplyDeleteSo it has to be translated more freely as "Bookmark belongs to the picture" which is an indication where the bookmark goes to. That explains why you MUST look at the keyboard to get the clue about the code.
Coolish!
I actually played in english (place on lower left start screen to choose) and still the keyboard was in japanese only. Good game but you really have to make sure you click and look at everything to get some things to work.
ReplyDeletetoo hard
ReplyDeleteMuch much easier in English! Still tough, but remembering it's a linear game helps. I like how Tomatea at least says "I don't have a clue how to solve this yet."
ReplyDeletecaught this one from the random section
ReplyDeletenow that was an epic, challenging & very difficult game for me - had to rely on the WT (thx ST)
thx Gotmail for this premium quality game ☺
