Fresh meat =)

Extender pole and fruit and already stuck...

Pop... Bloody obvious N clue...

Hello @werner

@Werner, same place.

Trying to figure out the 3 digit code now

Hiya Guys... Thought the three letter clue might've been the windows, but alas no...

same place, need to figure out that three square clue.

@werner, same here!
Tried counting the number of horizontal stripes, but nada

HINT:

Count horiz bars on BOTH windows ;P

Werner,

Check all the drawers. There's also two sets of windows.

Stuck in the other room with two 4 digit codes, the code hint with shapes, an orange, key and newspaper.

just did that guru... LOL

@Guru, aargh thanks!
I had the right numbers, but in the wrong order ^^

i think we need to minus the number of lines between those window

Key from drawer in second room, using the R/L clue from drawers in the first...

opsss... silly me....

Dark O Heart

You need to only use the number of horizontal lines.

SPO5IL4E7R

Those bamboo leaves are driving me nuts

Mhtyhr

You can see a leaf on the back of the fan, seems like it must be related.

same here @mhtyhr

use that wet paper with "hot" sign on the heater outside

Tried counting and adding the leaves on the bamboo for the four number box on the drawer to no avail...

there safe behind bird picture on the 2nd wall.

Tried counting them in a number of ways... Argh!

For the bamboo leaves, I tried both 4664 and 6842 but didn't work...

Can u translate the newspaper (sports) for us, M?

Btw, the cover of the book-like thing that is probably actually newspaper says "O x newspaper"

I hope I'm not too late to jump in on this one. [And thanks @Shuchun for the alternative link!]

@guru,
only the cover is in Japanese. The rest are gibberish (except for the word Sports of course) ^^

Click on "Sports", there are more words

Can someone PLEASE post the number for the bamboo leaves? I have counted them and can't figure it out.

I have only gotten past the first scene, but if it helps anyone I seem to recall that Jan's Room games usually incorporate the game's border into the hints somehow.

"hot" paper show square, circle, circle and square.

When you click that Chinese character fan it will show the bamboo leaf drawing.

Stuck, big time.

Ok so click on sports for a hint to the number panel under "News" - its a four letter word that you'll find on the border of the game.

Nice one, Sarsmi =)

What are the symbols on all 3 fans too plz?

Aaa thanks!
Sports page:

圧勝 = complete victory

The right side says Baseball match results

So...we haven't figured out the bamboo thing yet?

Square circle circle square refers to the different windows (there are squares or circles over the locks) and the position and number of the leaves on the bamboo. So first and fourth number from square window, second and third from circle:

SP5O6I3L2ER

@Guru,
松 = pine
竹 = bamboo
梅  = plum

@guru
松 = pine
竹 = bamboo
梅 = plum

@sarsmi
Thanks!!

Wow, would NEVER have got that......... and out

Thx S+M :)

Out too ^^

Nice Chinese New Year spirit... Can't wait to get mandarin Oranges

I can't get out of the first room :-( what did I miss ? only have a mandarin and stick ???

Just got here. But i do not understand how to get past the rod and the orange. Completely stuck.

use the N clue combined with the symbols in the border of the game (lower left, upper left, etc) to open the box and get the SD. Then use SD on panel beside door and enter the 3 digit code gotten by counting horizontal bars on the windows.
I'm just mucking about in the second room waiting for Sarsmi's WT, now.

Good I'm not alone in here , I just heard doors slam and it's all still now *peels my mandarin and eats it*

In the 2nd room, you can open a drawer using the L-R hint from the drawers in 1st room.
There's a piece of paper with the word HOT. Put it on the hot grill in 1st room to see the square circle hint.

You'll find a key to open both windows. one of the windows is square, one is circle.. count leaves ^^

I know what you mean @Clee - once the first players escape they all seem to disappear! But I have faith in Sarsmi, and I know it can take a long time to write an accurate WT, so I'll probably come back in a bit. Enjoy that orange! (but don't go poking anything with the stick)

thank you @mhtyhr! (why do I always feel like I'm writing "mister" with a lisp when I write your screen name?)

Thanks Zoz you got me out of the first room , I'm happy now

WALKTHROUGH

Click on table, get stick from box and orange from bowl. Use about item to turn the stick into a rod.

Go right and click on cabinet, note the knobs on the drawers:

O X
O X
X O
O X
O X
X O
O X

Note the clues in the third and fourth drawers. This refers to the windows (two sets) and the horizontal lines on the windows. Back up and turn twice. Zoom into the "N" box. Open the box using the border of the game for clues. (Spinning top, bottle, crown, birdie.) Get screwdriver.

Back up and zoom into the panel, open with screwdriver. Enter the numbers from counting the horizontal window lines (547).

Enter the second room, go right and zoom in on the cupboard. Get the newspaper and open the drawer using the code from the first room (R-R-L-R-R-L-R). Click on the middle fan to get a hint about the code underneath. Get the key. Use it on both windows, note the square shape on one window and the circle shape on the other (above the locks).

Click near the ceiling on the slatted border above the "NEWS" wall. Use the rod to get the paper. Go back to the first room and use the paper on the coals.

Use this clue combined with the bamboo leaf clues to get a code. Use the number of leaves from the first bamboo from the square window as the first number, the leaves from the second and third bamboo from the circle window for the second and third numbers, and then the last bamboo from the square window for the fourth number (5632). Use this code on the codebox (you must open both windows for this code to work).

Examine the newspaper, click on the word "Sports" and use the numbers under the letters with the word "Room" (on the game border) to get a code (6558). Enter this code in the box under the "NEWS" wall. Get the, uh, snowman.

Use the scissors on the wall cabinet and get the decorative box. Assemble the box with the snowman and put the orange on top. Put the whole thing on top of the tray in front of the wall hanging. This opens the safe behind the wall hanging, get the key, and leave out of the door in the first room.

Sorry that took a while! I had to get something to eat first. =)

is this game still live? where to put the 3 digit code pls? I can find the 1 with 4-symbols

@Sarsmi

Thanks! without you I'd still be stuck in Jan's room with nothing but an orange which I hate!

Gonna go grab a bite now too

@zoz
:p honestly I have problem writing it too!
Maybe I should pick a new one

Thanks so much Sarsmi!! GREAT walk-through, why did I want the word Bell when it was room lol I wish I understood these games better

Thank you @Sarsmi for the WT! I can go to sleep contentedly now |o)

@mhtyhr when I first read your name I thought it comes from Klingon language :) Could even be Lt. Worf's birth name, but he uses Worf because they would not have been able to pronounce the Klingon one ;)

Well, I already played Jan's Room games, but completely forgot the fact, that they often incorporate the game's border into the hints somehow...
Therefore: Thx, L&G for your hints
& @Sarsmi for the WT!
:-)

Would NEVER have got that without everyone's help. Thanks to all the geniuses for sharing your smarts!

needed the hint to look at the window locks. great game!
