spent a while lost then turned over the panel that had been opened with the screwdriver and found the note. From there it was quick out
For others as slow as me - put the hint paper on the candle and it gives a colour clue. Use the coloured numbers to decrypt the 4 colour clue into numbers

For those a bit colour challenged the paper clue gives

Nice game with good graphics
I put the paper on the pink candle first and it gave three colours but I didn't make a note of them before putting it on the blue candle and, now I've entered the 4 digit number, my paper has disappeared.

Phew, it's fine, I thought I needed them for the 3 digit number but I've found it now.
Wow, I don't get anything but the Xmas code. The letters look like aoao, but that does not work. The other codes don't even take changes yet.
I see, you have to switch on the purple light first.
I am not finding this game so easy...maybe because the gamemaker won't let the game zoom larger so I am looking at a postage stamp sized thing and probably missing lots.....

@Pascale - you get a handle in one of the drawers for the window.

@pascale: it's in the bottom left drawer. You need the 4-digit code. you get a hint from the panel that you unscrewed (the back of it) and then you highlight that and click on the candles. The blue candle gives you the code for that drawer - it's posted above by RSA Momma....
I just posted, and then deleted, two things that were wrong. If you got them, please ignore them. I am the WORST person to write a Walkthrough.
I like the games where they don't let you do the puzzles until you've seen the clues. It makes it a lot easier to know if you need to keep looking. I dislike having to sit and try to brute force things or wonder why something won't work when it "seems" like it should.

@mrtelcom -- I HAD written down the 3 colors from the paper, but couldn't enter them. Came close to quitting/restarting as well! lol

First scene:
- POT and RACK
- locked cupboard
Go right:
-no bulb in left light
-working bulb in right light
-can zoom on mantle (2 candles) and fire
-move logs to see screw panel and "aoao"
Go right:
-balls on dresser
-smear on mirror
-5 puzzle drawers in dresser
Go right:
- can zoom on middle window
QUICK-THROUGH (details later)
-open 4-color drawer to get MAGAZINE
-open 4-letter drawer to get SD and COLOR-NUMBERS
-use SD to get KEY#1 and PAPER
-use key#1 to get LIGHTER
-use lighter and paper for COLOR CLUE
-open 4-number drawer for HANDLE
-use handle to get ICICLE
-build fire to make steam
-use steam to get TIC-TAC-TOE clue
-open lower right drawer to get BINOCULARS
-use binoculars to get 3-number clue
-open 3-number clue for KEY#2
SOLUTIONS

-Ball on left has for dots small-to-large
-Balls on right are different colors and sizes
-order the balls small-to-large

place rack and pot above fire
-use magazine and lighter to light fire
-put icicle in pot
-back up, then zoom in to get POT OF HOT WATER
TIC-TAC-TOE
-hold hot water to mirror
-press buttons corresponding to the "X"s
3-Number Drawer
-use binoculars on window (open or closed)to see cabin number SPOIL236ER
I ll attempt a WT (if anyone needs help)
1st scene:
Zoom in the wall "cupboard" and notice a key is needed.
Take the bowl from the table and the "ladder" from the floor.
2nd scene:
Take the lamp of the right spot and put it on the left and click the purple button to switch it on.
Click in the lighted spot on the floor,move the logs and note 4 letters and notice the screwed panel.
Notice the fireplace and the candles on it.
3rd scene:
Notice on the cupboard the 4 coloured balls and statue.
When you click the statue you get the order of the colours,so open 1st drawer-2nd row and take times magasine.
Open right drawer-2nd row with the 4 letters (clue from 2nd scene)and notice coloured numbers and take the SD.
4rth scene:
Notice the window needs a handle
2nd scene:
Open the panel with SD,take the key and click the wooden plate to take a note.
1st scene:
Open the wall cb with the key and take a lighter.
2nd scene:
light the candles and put the note(open it first) on top of the pink and then on top of the blue,so you see 4 colours.
3rd scene:
Find the 4 numbers and open the 1st drawer-3rd row using the note and coloured numbers from right drawer-2nd row,and get a handle.
4th scene:
Put the handle on the window,open it and take the ice from top right corner.
2nd scene:
Fireplace:put the "times" on the wood,the 'ladder' and the bowl on the "ladder".Put the ice in the bowl and light a fire with the lighter. Zoom out and then in and take the bowl with boiling water.
3rd scene:
Put the bowl on the mirror and see the clue for the bottom right drawer (click the "x"s),take the binoculars.
4th scene:
Open the window,use the binoculars and see a 3 digit number.
3rd scene:
Use the number you saw in the middle top drawer and take the KEY.
Zoom at the door ,use it and CONGRATULATIONS!!
