That rod is not for the shovel. There is another one that has a "handle" on the end. Forgot where I found it. That rod is for the chain.

Ah so! You should use the rope on a hook, shovel is later!
I got the door open, but am stuck. Have 2 sets of numbers and nowhere to use them.
And where to use a key from the grave ?

Yes, I have the key, just don't know where to use it.
Use key from grave in cellar, to open hatch under rug. Use rope to lift big wooden box.
Can't find shovel handle for the life of me - any clues?

The shovel handle is in the room under the rug. Use key to open trap door. Dig twice at the grave to find second set of numbers and open box. After that, I'm stuck.

Once you get the door opened in the room under the rug, go out the door and click on the up arrow.
bit of a pain this game but finerly out,if any one stuck where boxes r lift the 3 boxes seperately on to another to clear the path using the arrors on wall then use the 2 numbers from book and grave on to the box u got at grave to open it get gold key to get out.
I can't find any way to put the rope, handle, pulley, bucket on the well.....nothing sticks...I guess @quirky may be right...a waste of time...lol
OK...got it all on and took the box...that was annoying...lol
Could never find the last box that would hold the one I picked up. No patience left. Should have just been able to put them on the ground.
how did you get rod on shovel blade?
So in the room under the rug... the only thing I can do is turn the wheel and open the door, but I can't get it to stay open. I tried using the rod on the wheel, on the door... can't do anything
Okay, i don't know HOW I did it, but I put the rod on the chain by the wheel you turn. And while the door looks closed, i can through it now.
Ok finally found the right place (I guess) to shove the rob in the chain and it held door open, but now in the next room, I'm facing boxes and cannot move or use anything?
Why do these games show up at all? Other then killing time...........*rolls eyes*
So i moved all the boxes (pick up the ones with the loops and move them on to the boxes with the dark brown line on top), but i can't click the door the next door. this is starting to REALLY get on my nerves....
This is a nightmare, can only move one box and cant get it off the hook.
Ok finally got the boxes moved, thanks crazed4now - now stuck again
Just drag key to door and out. Great game until the last level.

How do you get the hook in the box room into action?

how do you get the box off the hook, and just where do you place the box. It saids to place over box with dark line on top, just what box, help please
gave up trying to put the rod on the chain
@annaby just place the rod over the wheel to the left and place the rod over the wheel a little above the right, it should catch
