To interpret the abacus, here is an online one that you can use to get numbers.

@lebanans, leroy: I'm sure I played this before, it was a flash512 game and these gamekb people maybe have swiped and rebranded it as their own :/

Btw: There's a great Ellie-WT for the original version...!
☺
Reference for yinyang symbols:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Ching
Scroll down the the Trigram table
The paper where the cloud symbol is gives "Name" and "Image in Nature" characters for each symbol
Original version was all in Chinese.
Note: In Ellie's fabulous WT, she found hints for which drawers to look in. One of the hints was a "43" on the plant painting which is now mysteriously a "27" (but the 43 is the correct drawer reference).
(For the cats, I didn't have a cat by the stove until I had found the other 11.)
For using the berries -- there are two views of the boxes -- the one you get while facing the stove has a mousehole visible far upper right.
> Original version was all in Chinese.
You name it, Puzzled!
That's why I had searched like mad for the "plate" that Ellie had described. It's a thick paper.
But it would be a bit unfair complaining about this, seeing that we couldn't but rely on our eyes as we couldn't read any word!
LOL Puzzled 43 was on another painting in this one...
ps I just clicked all the drawers....
