horrible graphics! Unplayable!

i like the pixel graphics and thought it was a good adventure. however i'll wait until the second chapter is free before i play it.

I"m enjoying the pixel graphics....the music is dark/gothic kinda....but the poor crow :(

Oh Thrynn! That crow dying in my inventory was the worst!
I'm almost at the end I think.. Just found the hanged man

Maybe something wrong in my screen resolution? I swear I can´t distinguish anything in that game. It´s really unplayable for me.

Out.. Wierd game lol

I'm going around in circles, can't scare crows away, guess I need food for cat's bowl and need small tool to open window latch upstairs

I know Nini...that was awful....now I've got the cat meowing and just found the dead woman....@ Roberto...sorry you're not able to enjoy the game...took me a while to adjust to the graphics too

Elora did u get silver key from bedroom?

No key, where should I look?

Thrynn get hairpin, go to the bedroom, use pin to open balcony, get tinner and hammer in the other room, use hammer on the basement to find cat :)

Eloraa there's a table bedise the bed.. really hard to distinguish.. (btw.. I mean the bedroom with the fireplace Elora and Thrynn!)

Roberto ..Im with you ...cannot see anything clearly ...it seems that game is censored ..

Thanks found key...now off to find lock for it

Nini, just got the hammer...moving right along :D

The game is indeed a bit too pixely but you get used to it while you're playing

Yikes...scary crows everywhere...

now its saying 404 n0t found ....

scary kitty just jumped out of the wall at me lol

eyeless kitty...

If the above link fails due to server trafffic
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/620456

I tried to break the cement wall with hammer but obviously I don't wnat to make a mess...I'd rather carry a dying bird around in a house with a dead woman and cryptic messages in it...help please. How to break wall?

Elora put crow in room where you used crucifix, leave the room and go in again, the crow was eaten and now u can hear a cat meowing. Now you can use hammer

you have to put the crow in the bowl for the cat, then cat goes through small hole in wall, into the area behind the cement wall

Uhhh...gross

Nina...I got the gold key from the lynx's mouth, have only one door to open and key won't work.....what did I miss?

nvm....found a new view in the lab...way up at the top above ladder

the gold key is for hatch in the ceiling of lynch room

And you're done Thrynn :) Just get close to the dead body and click it

evil crows.....thanks Elora....and out

and thanks for sticking around Nini for us slow pokes :D

Haha np Thrynn.. and I'll stay here until Elora is done as well :)

great, Nini....then I'll mosey on

thanx PL for link ...but still cannot see anything & the only thing which i can pick is rope ...

raasti u have to hang yourself, there's also a chair in the room

oh my gosh Nini i hanged myself ..you are so tired of me ..LOL

LOL raasti! Don't misunderstand xD I have nothing against u lol

crowbar is used to moved book case ...

found dead woman ..where to go now ?still have cleaning cloth which i haven't use ..

raasti read my post at 11:37 am

i dont have any hair pin ...

raasti check the dead woman and the pin will fall on the ground..
Aww sorry I have to leave.. good luck raasti and whoever is playing!

I quit ..after clicking several time dead woman i cant find any pin ..every time letter open on the screen ....anyways thanks for help Nini XD ..:)

I got the knife and I don't know what to do next.

@Raasti: the pin was on the floor by the woman, you needed to click on her before for it to fall.

Verito use knife to open linx mouth

Anyone around? I found the dead woman and broke the cement wall in the basement. Now need a gold key from the lynx's mouth, but the game won't let me use the knife I got (from behind the cement wall in the basement) on the lynx. It keeps saying, "I don't see why I should do that"...

Ohhh, I see. Had to use the thinner on the old cloth and then use it on the paintings blocking the window where the crow's trying to get in (that is, the room through the door in the room with the dead woman in it... phew, so many rooms!)

After using the thinner, when you go back to the lab room with the stuffed lynx in it, the lynx's mouth is shut. You can then cut it open with the knife to reveal the golden key. Use the golden key on the trapdoor/hatch in the same room to find the hanged man and his cryptic suicide note... and to see him devoured by crows. Ugh, all the crows in this game have seriously creeped and grossed me out... NOT a good idea to play this game at 1am... going to have nightmares for sure!!!

I'm with Roberto ... I couldn't do anything with this game either????

anyone there? I need halp with crow

Nini and BlackFiresong: thank you for the help. I got out now.
Tyler: do you mean the crow outside? Did you pick it up? Use it as food for the blind cat.

I enjoyed that.

how do i keep the window open in the bedroom where i put the dying bird

never mind got it

Mason: use the rosary.

Three stars only? It's such a good game. Loved it. Reminds me of those games of the 90s. :)

where can I find the hairpin?

Or how do I break the cement at the basement?

NVM i found the crowbar. it's stupid how I can't pick it up earlier and had to go around in circles

i put the crow in the bowl, left and came back later, but nothing happened. halp meee

nvm i got it

Very good game!!! Thank you

Not sure if anyone is still here... there are a few 'oh never mind got its' which doesn't help.

Can't find a dead woman, hairpin, I put crow in bowl and opened window but nothing happened yet and can't find hammer or crowbar lol ?

Ok the crow has now gone... but reading above it looks like I need a hammer to use on the wall to get the cat??

Ok I found the crowbar next to the boiler (where the cement wall is)... So off I go to use on bookshelf, hopefully some of my missing stuff behind there lol

And finally out, thanks for the helpful hints above everyone! :)

I got bored halfway through. If it had good graphics, it would probably retain my interest. A map, too, would have been useful and less of the need to allow game to save info on your computer after you go through each door.

for anyone else that has trouble, the intro is a few scenes where the character eventually hangs himself...there is only one place in each scene where the cursor turns into a hand...eventually you get to the game after clicking thru a few of those

I put the crow in the bowl, and walked away and came back but it was still there. How do I get the cat to eat it?

@Beth McDowell: I remember having to go in and out of that room a few times before the cat finally ate the crow.

Shocked at the 3-star rating - this is a great game! The graphics add perfectly to the unsettling mood. Maybe the low rating is because people were too unsettled, lol. I know I was! All those crows... *shudders*

This game was awesome!

this game story is awesome

I think most of the low ratings were from people who saw the credits roll after the hanging and thought 'That's it?!'

It's a PIXELATED GAME. It's SUPPOSED to look like that. -_-

>.< complaining because of horrible graphics >.<

you like pixels or not.

but you cant say it has bad graphics because you dont like how they are made

Yes, stop whining you guys, there's no way these games can please everyone, but take time out to create your own instead of griping and giving low scores.

Walkthrough part 1.

The magnifier in a scene shows something.
When you click and it changes into a hand, you can take something.
You need to see every clue for yourself before it works.

Hurry, please, the letter said.
But it's too late.
(take the rope, the chair, hang this character) Anthony Beechworth is gone.

October 1891.
Back home. A thunderstorm. What to do ...
videte ne quis sciat - see, no one knows
Our student groups' motto.
Something must have happened that needs to stay secret. What??
I'm going to Beechworth Mansion - Sussex.

Walking around the house, I run into a group of crows. Can't pass them. The door here is locked on the inside.
Through the open front door.
Taking off my coat and hat. I find a resignation letter of the Brewers. Why can't they work here anymore?
Did Anthony read this letter?
The clock is ticking.

I decide to go right into a nice reception room.
I take the matches out of the drinks cabinet.
The gramophone, the fireplace, the open glass doors, they do nothing.

Walkthrough - part 2.

I open the door into the corridor.
There are three doors here.

1. on the left = the kitchen.
The door leads outside to the crows.
I take on old cloth from the oven.

Stop at Mona Lisa.
Try to mend her, she falls down = a rosary.

2. the middle door = a servant bedroom.
I take the lamp with me.
I look at drawers, crucifix-shade, nothing.
I need a cord to keep the window open. Use rosary.
There’s a feeding bowl at the window.
There’s a note on the table.
March 5th, 1891 – the rosary
May 18th, 1891 – Alfie the cat
September 15th, 1891 – a worried servant.

Click lamp, click matches. The lamp is on now.

3. on the right = locked (needs silver key).

Back to the reception room and to the hall.

Walkthrough - part 3.

Upstairs.
More paintings, but some are missing.
Here are four doors.

1. closed.
2. blocked.

3. the masterbedroom.
There’s a balcony door, for which I need a small tool, ,thinner than a key.
On the bedside table is a silver key.

4. a locked door.

Back downstairs to the corridor.
The key fits in the door on the right.
I’m in the basement now.
Going left I find a record. Furthermore left of the wood a crowbar. Far left fresh cement to be cracked open with a hammer.

Going back, I place the record on the gramophone.
O dear, there’s a scratch on the record.
(If I were me, I’d smash it with the crowbar, but no).
Entering the hall … the music stops.
Of course I check the room …. Crows everywhere.
They can only be at one place at the time, so, I go through the kitchen and outside …
One crow left there. I take him.
I put the crow in the bowl at the window in the servant bedroom.
I now notice a tiny hole in the wall. (Click it).
Go out and walk the corridor. Go back into the servant room and the crow is gone. A cat is meowing.

Walkthrough - part 4.

Now, go upstairs, and open the blocked door with the crowbar.
In this room it becomes clear someone wants to be left alone.
Three letters on the floor.
1. a desperate wife to her sister Margaret.
2 and 3 are desperate notes.
Margaret died, she’s on the bed, holding a note.
When I take it a hairpin drops on the floor.

I go through the left door and find family portraits.
The far left painting has fresh paint.
On to the master bedroom. I open the balcony door with the hairpin.
Crossing the balcony brings me into another room.
Three important newspaper clippings.
A map of the region. Notes on the desk.
Chemical stuff. I pick up a can of thinner off the floor.
I take the hammer off the table.
There’s a shutter up the ladder, I need a gold key (lol, a selfdefiant game?).
The mouth of the lynx needs to be cut open with a knife. You can unlock the right door and leave.
Go to the painting with fresh paint.
Combine cloth and thinner and remove the paint, it shows an open mouth.

Walkthrough - part 5.

Go to the basement and hammer the fresh cement = the cat ánd I can take a knife.

Go back to the chemistry room and use the knife on the mouth of the lynx = a gold key.

Climb up the ladder, open the shutter with the key and find Anthony.
Take a letter out of his pocket.
It’s telling me to go back to our boarding school and save the others in our student-group.

Oh, okay, crows break in … eh …
Dunno why crows have such a bad reputation ….

On the bed is Anna, Anthonys' wife, not Margaret who is her sister..
