Don't understand last clue. Don't care much for games where the clues are so sublime I have to rely on comments to escape.

Still doesn't load. Loved to play it with you.

Having trouble continung the WT cause I can't get the color puzzle to work again; I have to find out what makes it work

Pulling the lever does nothing now, apparently; no 4th shape appears whether you have the other 3 pieces in place or not. Maybe the maker fixed this

Burned my toast while writing that! Am I addicted or what?!

Where's the clue for the color code? Because it won't accept the order evans gave...

Ty just1 for taking the time to write a w-k while burning your toast!
Maybe as escaper said, you have to SET red to red?

I feel a bit of a fraud. I followed along..but have hit a wall. I dont know whether i accidentally did things out of order, but i cant find a coin outside the cat-flap in the door...because..i cant get that view again. All i can do is flip the pages of the book beside the cat, when kitty is back inside. I also can not get the panel behind the armchair open. Maybe i pulled the lever (without coin)..and blew my chances of escape. Not to worry. I enjoyed what i played. Thank you all so much for the hints, clues, and Just1 for the nearly completed walkthrough.

Tip to save burnt toast.........MORE BUTTER..that way you are too busy licking your fingers to notice that the toast tastes disgusting.

clio-rose: the cat has to be gone before you can get the coin, and for that you have to set the colors right for the second time.

why thank you avatar!! You have fun too..and good luck and pip pip and toodle oo, etc.

Thank you escapism. I will try that tmrw. I have saved this game and kept trundling along a number of times. Fingers crossed for me that i remember where the heck im up to. haha. Thank you again. x x

Oops! Excuse me~ I meant escapism, not escaper!
Passing out buttered toast for everyone!

The colours code doesn't work on the panel in the bedroom. I tried from right to left, from left to right...

I'm replaying it at the moment, I did it on the colors for the second time now, but it was still hard. Had to try for several times, not sure what did the trick.

You get a clue with cat prints on it and its used for the bed side cupboard which contains the red U shape piece to put in wall - it must be a bug when it appears without this.

       Anonymous  7/30/13, 9:13 AM

I'm giving up. It could have been a great game, but it seems that people who created it wanted to make it so difficult that they got lost themselves...

What do I have to do to make the cat move its big fat butt? :(

Well, I am out, but needed spoilers for the entire game. Thanks Lottie and Just1. I had to do many puzzles at least twice to get the desired action. The color puzzle to produce the cat/book, took several times along with the 4 shape magically appearing. Didn't understand most clues.. this one was just too darn hard for my little pea brain!

thanks again everyone for the great hints and spoilers!

It looks like this is only the second game from this maker. So congrats and ty for making it!

I was going along very well, following the comments...then when in the other room and the 6 colors...and the cat book...it just didn't happen for me...no cat book, I used a spoiler to open the 6 colors safe but missed something somewhere ...now cannot finish! I hate it when that happens!

I guess it is to be a replay ...but way later! I am tired! LOL

I'm stuck with you nokra - followed along to pink & green buttons but can't make that work. I don't have a cat book either

oh are people still playing ,. i am stuck too on the colours on the wall

Hi all - had to go do other things for a while

Giving up on the walkthrough because I can't make the color clue work again to save my effing life

I understand all the clues now, but still find the cube clue and the pink/green one VERY difficult to visualize - Lottie should be an architect or something. Anyway best of luck to all those who play on through!

@ClioRose: your solution is EXCELLENT

can't get the bedside cupboard to open :( or the cat to move again

For six colors: at first it didn't work for me. I zoomed in on all six pictures, then starting on RIGHT side of safe and going left entered purple, yellow, green, red, pink, blue. For red I clicked all the way through the colors. Hit the button, colors stayed on the safe, went back to main room and there was a cat. I don't know which parts of my sequence are necessary, this is exactly how I did it and it worked.

I wish someone would come back.. I still cant get the pink/green puzzle. I tried the spoiler and everything. UGH

Oh plz finish the WT. I just want to know how to solve the cube with the red/white/blue squares and I don't want to have to read all the comments because there are so many spoilers.

The cube starting with 1st column going down
W
BRRWB
WB
RW

Unknown~
Idk what you did, but did click each number 1-8 as Lottie explained? I think the lights turn on if you do it correctly.

SPOILER:
PINK AND GREEN BUTTON:
8715
6243

I don´t know if anybody mentionned it, but the cat paw paper goes from bottom to up, the direction is given by the paws themselves.

Whew, would never have made it this far without the hints thanks everyone.

OMG! You got to press the reset button in cube puzzle with red/white/blue options to get the switch! Argh! I spent so many hours on this!!!!!!!!! But on a positive note, POP works :)

larue, how do you number the green and pink buttons, going in lines so green1 green 2 pink 3 pink 4 green 5 etc or green1 green 2 green 3 Under 1, green 4 under the 2? It may seem easy to you, but to oldies like me it doesn't make sense. Hope you or someone else can explain.

OMG, another POP moment! What larue meant was to click the third button in sequence (line) first (pink), then hit the second button in second row (green), then hit the last pink button in bottom row and so on... Therefore, imagine the 8715 to be written across the top row of buttons and the 6243 written across bottom row of buttons and now hit each one sequentially (1...2...3...4 all the way to 8). Then the lights come on.

Place those numbers on top of the buttons, then press 12345678 in order.
So green would have
87
62
on top of them
pink~
15
43

congrats on figuring it out! :)

I am finally OUT! The last puzzle was the easiest. I had copied down grid from bedroom and then noticed the name of the designer was seen from the back so turned my notes over and clicked on appropriate places. Bear in mind that the square with the designer's name should not be clicked, it will be easy to orientate yourself. (Of course, when I make notes, I forget to write which side is up... because I use up all the free space on the paper! LOL)

Better late than never :) Thank you for taking the trouble to answer me, larue.

Back for my 10millionth attempt to finish. I have input the two sets of colours ..from picture order and from cat-book order. The red U shaped piece magically appeared and a little drawer under that opened for a grey square shaped knob. I cant do anything with that panel now. The cat is still sitting there, and i cant find a cube. Anyone have an idea of what i should try next (other than make more toast...lol)

@Clio you should have the cube after inputting Andrea's color order (yesterday 10:04), just click on the button at the bottom I think

then pugt the square thingum from the wall panel in it and it'll light up; so will the puzzle. Can't help you with that puzzle but Lottie left a good spoiler

(Lottie at 10:28 and 10:34)

Thanks just1. But...no go. I've done it about 10 times and still no cube. Maybe i have to restart completely rather than just play from where i save. Thank you for your help.

Sorry clio, you must have done something out of order, or missed a step
btw Diepud at 12:43 today seems to have found a way to do the 1st color code, but I haven't tried it - got quite frustrated cause the game was working differently today and yesterday

i think you are right, just1. I will restart and see what happens. Thank you again for your help.

still cant figure out how the pink and green puzzle was solved !! because the order spoiled doesnt make any sense .. if the clue is to follow the arrow lines then the last button to press should be the TR pink button !! waiting for a detailed walkthrough if any !!

Can someone explain the 4 square box? Are you saying we push the top left square 61 times, the top right square 83 times, etc?

@Robin Rob: look at the numbers as single digits - first go to the corner with 1, then 2, etc.

hmmm, 6851 opened it, don't know why.

9 clicks opens it

had another go from the start. couldn't get the cat/book to appear unless I hit save. Now can't get it to go (still) and can't get the grey knob either. think this one is slightly bugged

RobinRob, if you make a diagram, you have 6 1 on top left; 8 3 on top right; 5 7 on bottom left; and 4 2 9 on bottom right. So using each as an individual digit, you have no's 1 through to 9. Order to click is: TL; BR; TR; BR; BL; TL; BL; TR; BR. Hope that makes sense. Good luck

hello all

continuing the WT, game appears to be fixed

There is an impressive level of detail in this game, and it's really fun to play despite being a tough mutha
For instance, if you poke the cat 7 or 8 times he'll meow - maybe a good idea to let him know he'll get no rest until you're outta here
But as so often happens, I wound up more impressed with this site than the game. To escape the 'real' world is a necessity for some of us, and this is the best place ever to do it. Thanks again to Yalcin, Shuchun, MegiPoland, and whoever else is responsible. Even the worst games on ths site are way more fun than an office party. Never change pls

WT Pt. 3 coming soon

after [almost] 2 days and im still playing this game
(although i was out on 1st day ;) )

fighting with 2nd end [cry XD]

The cat will leave when you input again the colours but this time you use the shapes in the cat book (only left side - the right side is showing you biggest to smallest filled circle for the order of colours.) Press black button and you should get the rubik's cube and from there on it should be easier.

ARGHHHHH. I restarted game. I have followed all the instructions step by step. That frippen, reckin, reedle, wisin CAT!! He is in...and i cant move him! I have input the colours according to the book...and hints and spoilers..and still he sits on his fat arse and wont move. That's it. I am going to have to live in this place. Please deliver my buttered toast through cat flap in door. Thanks.

WT Pt. 3

Backstory: Pts. 1 & 2 at 7/30, 5:50 and 6:11 AM

Now you're in the bedroom. Go ahead and take a nap; you'll need to be fresh to solve your way out of here. When you wake up, be sure to look under the pillow and study the clue paper you'll find there. It's a map of the 1st room, and the red dot is one of the legs of the large armchair. Also grab the CUP that's on the bedside table (which you can't open yet). Click on the handle to remove it, and now you have a CIRCULAR OBJECT which fits in the wall panel outside. Making the BLUE thing a square, and the YELLOW thing a triangle, you now can fill 3 of the spots.
Pulling the lever by the door does nothing yet. Look at the paintings on the way out, get the feeling they're not there for their artistic value. Yes you'll be studying them all intently. (hey, I used all 3 'thairs' there, and spelled them correctly too! But then I was born before there was Internet)

Step out and turn right to go to the armchair. If you look at where you found the '61', there's now a new view available, down left. Click to it, see panel on wall, click panel. Click red button. Hear a thudding sound. Wonder what we did?

Go back to the bedroom, turn left, and see the painting has fallen to reveal the dread color puzzle.
It may be necessary to close-up on each painting on the opposite wall before this doggone thing will work. Everybody has had trouble with it. The solution I get is evans'; from R to L, blue-pink-red-green-yellow-purple. (Diepud's solution, above, wouldn't work for me.) So start at the top right, focus on each painting, then R to L for the bottom row, then enter those colors R to L on the panel, and if it doesn't work try again but don't just leave the red, click all the way through to it. Is that clear as milk? Good. When it's done, the colors will stay in place, and you'll find a new problem outside.

Go to 1st room; now the cat is outside the door and he wants you to see his book, which makes no sense whatsoever to humans, but you indulge him and read it anyway; gradually it dawns on you that you'll have to learn to understand it or you'll be stuck here with this cat forever, and I think neither of you would like that.
Credit goes to Andrea for figuring it out: the images on the right are merely sizes, and to be entered large to small. So match each painting wth the size, go back to bedroom and get the colors, then enter:

SPOILER
redpinkgreenblueyellowpurple
SPOILER

You get a cube to study. The cat has gone again; if you look through the cat door you'll find a COIN. Takw it to the bedroom and put it in the slot next to the lever. Pulling the lever now gets you a PRINTOUT of cats paws right and left. It's the clue for the bedside table. Follow from bottom to top (as the cat walks), get RED TRIANGLE. Click on it to make U shape, then go put all your shapes in the wall panel of the first room. Get SQUARE BUTTON; this is for the cube. Return to bedroom, find hole in cube, put button there, it lights up. The weird panel over the armchair in Room 1 has also lit up. Now you've got trouble.

There will be a Pt. 4

:-)>

hope this helps clio - would you like some jam on your toast, or an egg maybe?

When I pushed the red dot by the chair I heard a click, did something unlock? What are the two slots by lever in bedroom? Haven't found fourth shape for spot between doors in first room. Thanks.

@Robin Rob: think I just answered all those questions. Pls be patient with me on 4th part though; have to do some work so it may be late this afternoon (my time zone is 1 hr after the posting time)

@just1
hi there
now replaying this "wonderful but really hard" game
[after went out of the room, then click the 'replay' button]

can get the cat coin WITHOUT read the cat book
but no 2nd end...SAD

To my utter amazement and delight - as you can imagine, i forgot to save this time, Just1. I closed the wrong tab. I shall try again tmrw. ps...jam pls. Thank you sooo soo much for your continuing w/t. I suspect i may just be an idiot, but lets keep that between ourselves.

first time commenting- just have to say I finally got the colors!
I had to look at the paintings in order before i put the colors in- so looked at them blue-pink-red-green-yellow-purple, then put them in the puzzle in the same order

Hi and welcome Anonymouse. I hope you continue to comment. (i thought had done that too, before i ever-so intelligently assumed i had minimised, but had X'd instead). I will try it again tmrw. Hope you enjoy the fun and help you find here in EG24.

@clio_rose I strongly suspect that you are not an idiot at all, and I don't care who knows it ;)>

Thanks just1, forgot to refresh. Think I'll try and print out stretched cube and make a real cube, maybe that'll help.

I got out the first end, but I'd love to know what is the logic of the first password colors, starting from left top, because I have to jump the red and leave it for last? why jump the red, I thought a lot of things already. those arrows in the password does not make sense, because if it was like that we would follow blue, pink, red.

someone here? someone could explain it here yet?

Hi @Anonymouse

I had tried it, tried again and it worked now.

I do not know when I tried, maybe because I had clicked on another frame (green) then in blue, pink, red.

either way it's very strange, because he opened leaving the red to the end

Where is pink/green button puzzle? Don't remember seeing that.

@ Robin Rob

Opening door right (of cat)

in the frame above of the chair that you opened, there has to solve, using the hint the cube, you will get the hint for open the door where the cat was.

5 months deposit? Is that normal for Japan?

Backstory: Pts. 1 & 2 at 7/30, 5:50 and 6:11 AM Pt. 3, 7/31, 7:26 AM

Walkthrough Pt. 4 (and finally out!)

Okay, if you don't want to do the cube and twist your brain into a noodle, skip to the spoiler. Don't blame you a bit. Some people have sharper visualization skills than others, and Lottie is the star here. Also, this miserable puzzle resets every time you step away from it. Without her we'd be trying to figure out how to roast this cat.

The puzzle on the wall is an unfolded cube; you have to color the dots red, white or blue to match what would be in that position on the real cube. There may well be more than one solution; I haven't seen any clue for what face you should start with. While Lottie was solving it, I was writing down the faces of the cube like this:

1.
wwb
rbw
wwb

2.
bww
rwb
wrw

3.
bwb
bww
wwr

4.
wbw
bww
wbr

5.
rwr
bwb
bww

6.
bww
wwb
bwr

And since you see several of the faces twice, turned differently, it took me a while to figure out which were duplicates.
Having discarded those, I needed somehow to figure out which face was to be far left. Then I needed to mentally turn all the faces in the appropriate direction, and keep the orientation correct; for example if the far left square is top, then bottom is 2nd from right, and the only one not adjacent to the top.
As I said, Lottie saved me from the miserable fate of working on this weeks, and getting it wrong many times before I got it right. In her solution, which may not be the only correct one, the far left square is the one on top when you first look at it, and the face looking right is the far right. The left face is the top square of the second column. So that's my #3 on the far left. The white square indicated is at the middle right, and the red & white squares on the far right indicate my #2. so to orient them correctly for the puzzle:

#3, far left:
wbb
www
rwb

#2, far right:
wrb
rww
wbw

#1, top 2nd column:
bwb
wbw
wrw

Hopefully those willing to work this out will see what to do by now. It's driving me bananas (again), and I still have another wicked puzzle to explain!

SPOILER FOR CUBE:

Left: white
2nd column top: blue and red
middle: red
bottom: white then blue
2nd from right: white in the middle, blue upper right
right: red then white

For your reward you can turn off the lights while you sob with relief.
Oh, and look around to see numbers on the wall.
Okay turn the lights back on.
Did I ever mention there's a clue paper in the bookcase? There's a clue paper in the bookcase. You need to follow the arrows to rearrange those numbers for the door code. (Not the out door, yet!)

S8P4O5I2L9ER

You're in the hallway!

I think I'll have to make one more post to finish. See you in a bit.

Thanks Just1, forgot about the arrow clue for the numbers, was there trying to figure it out and getting nowhere fast.

This comment has been removed by the author.

I finally got around to replaying this in search of the 2nd ending, and am left with the sense that the author, while artistically talented and good at creating puzzles, is perhaps not the best Flash coder ever born.

I struggled (again!) with the first round for the color buttons. Just1 is correct, you must focus on each of the pictures right to left, top row then bottom row, before the buttons will work. However, it seemed like I had to NOT press the red button to make the puzzle work.

After I got the red triangle, I went to the puzzle between doors and didn't have to insert a darn thing -- it popped open with the 4 objects already there.

I appreciate all the kind thanks for finding the 2nd color button solution. Thanks to a lot of people here I could not have gotten to that point. And a big thanks to just1 for writing up the WT!

I wasn't able to find the 2nd ending. I hope tautau comes back to elaborate.

Finally!through:

To your left is the easy puzzle, but you can't work it yet. You have to turn right and deal with the pink and green monster. Actually it's not so hard once you get the idea; you just have to click many, many times. Or read the spoiler, it's all the same to me!

What you want to do is follow an arrow that begins at the lower left square and ends at the 3rd top square. Map out this arrow while also mapping out the pink or green squares indicated. You'll wind up with 2 maps you have to overlay; that is, the first square to press is the one you find in the same position as the first part of the arrow. Lottie's SPOILER follows:

8715
6243

The lights come on, and there is one more puzzle to solve. Turn around and notice that the 'Kuroneko' is turned cattywompus: actually it's flipped over and rotated 90 degrees to the right. Go back to the bedroom and look at the painting that fell off the wall. Imagine it thus turned around and note where the black squares are. Bottom right will be top left; top right stays in the same place. So enter:

W (where Kuroneko is) BWB
WWBB
BWWW
BBWB

when you hit the black in the bottom right corner, it is a button, you will have a door key, and you will be OUT.

Quite possibly there is a second ending, but I've had enough of this game. Out!

OK had blue in the wrong place on the sequence :(
got red "U" and button for cube.
Going back to picture above chair, they are all buttons that can be switched, except the top square and the one below. so you need to work out what 2 sides they are on the cube and switch the other colours on the wall accordingly. Had it all scrawled onto bit of paper upside down & inside out, so my brain now hurts.

Once you get the sequence right the flap opens to reveal a switch, which turns the lights off to reveal a 5-digit code across the bookshelf. this needs to be re-arranged according to the diagram on the paper (from the bookshelf)

door now opens into another room - groan, thought I was out ;~(

Finally out, thanks Just1 for the WT, couldn't have escaped without it.

waiting for part 3 walkthrough @just1 .. just curious to find out how the pink n green puzzle worked .. coz obviously neither of the other players did !! :-) or at least r unable to explain it !!

n btw big thanx to smokehalo for figuring out the cards puzzle .. didnt even imagine they could be numbers !!

last part already done .. i'll replay it later .. thanx anyway !!

Andrea: you're very very welcome.
I think you're right about the author - on his or her way to greatness, but still needs to sit in Tesshi-e's lap for a while.
I thought the magically appearing object thing was fixed, it worked in my game, but apparently not in yours. Ah well. This author's still a hell of a lot better than I am at it. I think the game still rates 5 stars, if only to justify the hours I've spent on it!

The version I was playing was one I had loaded last night (since it had taken so long to load when I first started playing, I didn't want to do it again.) If it's fixed now, great!

changed my mind :-) not worth replaying !!

stuck on the pink/green lights now. I now have 4 different maps and even tried Lottie's SPOILER but can't get anything to work. I'm stuck in a corridor in the dark now :(
I presume the panel on the other wall ( and doors) does nothing until you can get the lights to come on.
May have to try again from the beginning

It has to be said: great walkthrough, just1!! One of those that I read just for pure fun and entertainment (that doesn't happen that often). Thanks a lot for the work and the effort! :-)

I just cannot get the cube. I have inputted the colours as per just1's WT (and TY SO much for the WT's) and the cat sits there like a sphynx and no cube appears anywhere. I give up!

OMG...I put the colours in backwards and it worked???
purple,yellow, blue, green, pink, red

Don't know why I did it...obviously a POP moment.

Looks like I should read through 300 comments to maybe get an answer :( So, sorry if it's been explained already:

The game says there are 2 endings. I got one, but I never used the printout with the cat foot marks, and also, I have one empty space in my inventory that suggests I failed to collect one item. I never opened the nightstand cupboard beside the bed in the bedroom. Also, I never found out the reason behind the close-up view of under the desk. Third, I never found out the importnce of the small black triangle under the eraser in the pencil box.

Would anyone be as kind as explaining me in a nutshell how the second ending can be reaced - or point me to a comment or website where it's explained? I only found one walkthrough video and it only has the ending I reached.

Also, I had to use the walkthrough for the green-pink button code on the hallway because I never found out the proper code - and even seeing what it is, I have absolutely no idea why it is the proper code. Seems to make no sense at all to me.

BTW, this was a very, very good game. Hard, but not too hard. Long, but not too long. Enjoyed it thoroughly.

bio

Update: read back some of the comments and I see I'm not the only one who has no clue about the second ending :)

Also, having learnt that the catpaw-clue was supposed to help opening the bedside cupboard, I tried it - but it doesn't. But I also see I was supposed to find the red shape there - which somehow magically appeared on its place by itself during the game at some point, making it needless to open the bedside cupboard...

What i still don't see is the importance of the small black triangle under the eraser in the pencil box on the desk. Probably nothing important, but I'm curious...

bio

For second ending, see comment at 7/30/13 2:40am.
It relates to whether cat appearance (or to read cat book or not).

I think triangle in pencil box is meant as arrow telling you go left to right or right to left. (I forget how it was facing).

       Anonymous  8/1/13, 1:38 PM

How do you flip the yellow square and the blue circle? They are stuck in those positions in my inventory and I can't flip them to put into the wall.... :/

@Amy. use the magnifying glass to "examine" them then click near the bottom to flip them, when you close the examine function they should stay in that position

Thanks for the w/t just1. Seems no matter what i do though, i cant get the cat to leave. However, i consider myself out because i thoroughly read the rest of your walkthrough. ..haha.

Thanks for all the appreciation. I'm bouncing credit back to zoz for inspiring me to write walkthroughs in the first place. Up with raccoons!

good game, i enjoyed it, thanks!
but as I see it, the only difference between two ends is that if you try solving color puzzle few times and then go to first room, you see cat, and get nice message in the end, but if you solve it in first attempt, then you miss cat - clue and you just get door with No 102 and Congratulation! ...
that doesn't seem fer ;)

@ bio : that triangle just shows you direction of ''reading'' up/down pencils, but we all assume it is from left to right anyway

Video WT:
1st end(read the cat book and OUT)
http://youtu.be/p-ghfQ3CNWQ

2nd end(solve the color puzzle without read the cat book)
http://youtu.be/FrAKgDjQsDw

But,I haven't add any annotation in the 2 videos...I'll complete them on tomorrow morning
Have a good night(/day)~

Pink/Green squares puzzle NO-NONSENSE FULL EXPLANATION:

1)First click all Pink/Green buttons to trace the route of the black arrow (that begins at the lower left square and ends at the
3rd top square). After you traced arrow's route, you don't need to consider arrow pieces anymore. Focus only on Pink/Green squares!!!

2)Now re-click all Pink/Green buttons and mark the position of the Pink/Green squares overlapping the arrow.
Example: arrow starting at lower left cell: in that cell the square overlapping is Pink Upper Left 1(PUL).
... continue according to arrow's route ...
arrow ending at the 3rd top cell: the square overlapping is Green Upper Left 8(GUL)

CAUTION: Each Pink/Green square on white tiles in the grid equals exactly to the lower button to press.
Example: little upper left green square on white tile = upper left green button

4)Now click the proper Pink/Green buttons according to the markings collected above.

SPOILER: 1PUL 2GDR 3PDR 4PDL 5PUR 6GDL 7GUR 8GUL

SERIOUSLY!! (the box with 4 squares) do we have to push each button the exact amount of the clue??? I so hope i'm asking a dumb question :D
