Got something from behind clock using chair shape clue combined with the bowing mens ties.
squashed the tomato on the shelf...and will now have to wait for the brainiacs because i'm stuck.
I also have (not saying how many..lol) coins from hitting the poor flowerpot man's head against the wall.

Just trying to open 4 button box.. Something with colours and door positions?
I'm trying to figure out NXOZ (O being more a square).
Clues for anyone who has not gotten to this point yet:
The salarymen have colored ties. They also have shapes: circle=red, pentagon green, triangle blue, square yellow. These colors and shapes open a couple different things, and also the order in which they bow will eventually work on the guy holding the painting (once combined with the mt fuji in the yellow room after you open it up with the screwdriver)

Which isn't helping yet. I think it's for the 5 digit green door, but I'm stumped on the circle/square in each room.
Oh, now I think it's the flowers... hang on while I do the math... YES, green door open!
Panda: don't click the 3rd button. You can click any of the others, but the 3rd button will kill ya.
I need a 4 letter code and 4 card suits&colors and haven't seen a single clue for either.
Have not opened the thing in the yellow room (with the shape of the red striped doll).
Have not figured out the circle/square things.

The letters in the volcano are pretty simple. The dot at the end of the letter code for the cat marks the end of the sequence for the letters found in the volcano. And, yes, the Square = O.

WT anyone?? Just started and have opened the green door and yellow door...but stuck now.
I need a 5 number code for the green door, don't know what to do with anything inside the yellow door. I see a L/R clue but don't know where to use it...

WALKTHROUGH
Note clock on the wall needs 4 colors
Pick up the guy on the sofa. Note circle, pentagon, triangle, square, with the tie symbol.
Note on the wall by the grey door a left/right sequence.
Enter blue room. Several things going on with the salarymen:
1. pentagon-green, triangle = blue, square = yellow, circle = red.
2. they bow in order: pentagon, square, triangle, circle, square, pentagon.
Go back to the main room and enter the colors into the clock according to the clue on the sofa. Get key for the little cabinet.
Take the computer from the cabinet and get a mag card from it. Open the yellow door.
Check out Mt Fuji. The shapes in the corners correspond to our salarymen and the order they bow. Take this info over to the main room and the guy holding the Fuji picture. Click corners as indicated.

Key get. Open the red room. On the floor note clock-hour sequence for the box in the main room. You can also turn on the TV (see left side) for a clue to the green door number panel.
Go back to the main room and click the directions as indicated in the clue and get the remote. Return to the red room and use the remote on the box guy. Now you can pull his ears according to the clue on the main room wall. You'll get a screwdriver. Good thing this is a game and you don't actually have to use your hands to pick it up.
Back to the yellow room and Mt Fuji. Take a look in there and see a clue for the cat (which you haven't seen yet). Dot-NXOZ
Now we have to return to the clue from the TV. Find the flowerpots and count petals for each color, then do the math to open the green door. S8P2O4I1L4ER
In the green room is the twerking cat. Enter the letter clue from the TV, noting the position of the dot. Take kitty and enter the black door.
The panda and the patsy! Yay! Save before you play with them. For fun you can press any of the buttons except the 3rd (I recommend #4). After playing, put your styrofoam Windows 3.3 computer on the desk and check out the next code. Card suits with colors.
There's still quite a few things we haven't dealt with yet, and the kitty will get the ball rolling. Take him back to the yellow room & Mt Fuji: we need the dowel doll. Place her in the safe next to Fuji and get the mysterious card color device (MCCD, which just so happens to be 1500... but that would be overthinking things in a Detarou game.)
Take your device to each room that has a circle. Note the suit and the color, and also the color of the door to the room it's in. The door color tells you the order you're entering the suits/colors. And you've been carrying the door color around with you on that mag card.
Spoiler for the lazy: G-D, R-S, Y-H, B-D
Take that pervy-looking cabinet handle to the blue room and get that exit key! Open the door!
Don't leave without your stamp, though!
Back to the red room for a new clue on the TV. Apply said clue to the unfortunate slappy robot. And thank your stars again that this is just a game.

Whoa, sorry, error in the walkthrough: the letter clue NXOZ is in Mt Fuji, not on the TV.

Mmm yes, rubber gloves could come in handy sometimes. ;) Probably two pairs at best...so you can dispose off them after the first use.
Glad to help. I really love a Detarou. Something about doing very logical puzzles in a completely surreal environment just tickles me.
Out with stamp and and no help, except for the power switch on tv, missed that pixel.
Hint for the 4 button box - 1269... is really 12,6,9....

How do you save game? Just got killed by pandas and thought I'd been saving as I went along but chucked out and back at beginning now. No option given to 'load game'.
I also was saving but couldn't Load when I needed to start over (yeah after hitting the 3rd Panda button anyway). Lucily I'd been saving found codes the hard way-- on paper. So getting back to where I'd left off didn't take too long.
One weird thing that happened to me - after getting that spade-cube-thing in the yellow room, I used it in the yellow room first and it gave me a red spade, but then the cube became unavailable to use in the other rooms. So I was totally dependent on your excellent W-T there, to get the other suit colour codes, Andrea. The rest of the game worked normally. (well, if one can refer to anything in this game as normal!)
I realize I'll probably never get an answer, but never figured out why for getting stamp, Long line = Right arrow, Short = Left?
well, just watched a youtube walkthrough and turns out on the highest shelf of three the fish is facing right (high = long line) and middle shelf has car facing left. Huge stretch IMHO in an otherwise very logical and well thought out game.
Why long line = right ear and short line = left ear for getting stamp? Look at the hands of the clock. Short hour hand is at the left and long minute hand is at the right. If you open the face of the clock, inside you will see a representation of the guy whose ears you have to pull.
