Yes, it was easy after I'd remembered where the red balloon had been!

Thing from coat pocket is a handle for the first cupboard - turn it a few times for the hammer. Use hammer on cross on mirror. Pop balloon with pin. Use pencil from balloon on board. Colour hint is for sliders using the balloons.

I'm a bit confused, don't understand how to combine colors with sliders. (know that colors are the balloons)

Yes, it is a bit tricky Trixie - If you look at the position of the balloons, and think of them as 1 to 4 from bottom up, you get the red balloon at No. 1, the blue at 2, the green at 3 and the yellow at 4. So if you transfer that to the sliders in the colour order given on the board with the pencil, you get yellow four places across, and so on. Hope that helps!
