You can click on the red triangle in the bottom right corner for another view and a few more things.
Click on scroll and quickly click for key behind the scroll.
Get Lighter off cupboard and inspect it to light and use it to light incense to reveal Japanese code on the scroll.
Use key on cupboard and get item out with a symbol on it.
Click red mat bottom right and click zither to take it and click again to flip it over and get another symbol.
Under red flower pot get item, click it to turn it around and get another symbol.
Let's go!
Use lighter on stick thing under the banner to show the shapes. Trying to decipher the numbers now.
Click on red mat and flick it up to get another key and reveal more symbols like on the scroll.
Use key on box in next scene to left, I cant read Japanese to ascertain the 3 digit code.
Thought it may have something to do with circle 1 side, square 4 side and triangle 3 side for the number code but that doesn't work.
Japanese word:
六 = six
七 = seven
八 = eight
白い = white
赤い = red
黒 = black
I think the numbers on the flip-side of the collected items might be 6 7 and 8 (not sure though)
Thank you Tautau - out now! Spoiler below...
8x6x7=
Pretty sure the symbol on back of instrument is a 6, 7 on item from under flower and 8 for last piece.
Looked at number 0 - 9 via Google translate.
Thank you to Google for the numbers, and to Tautau for the colours!
Thanks to Clodogh for the multiplication -- was there a hint for that?
(so colors don't matter)
The colours (thanks Tautau) relate to the colours of the objects with the numbers on them, and the multiplication is from the shapes of the symbols under the rug in the scene where we got the zither from. They have the maths signs in them. Team effort!
Oh, and when you light the thing under the banner, it highlights the maths shapes on it.
