Lots of japanese on the spines of books. I hope those aren't the only clues!

Horrible! And shoot the pianoplayer!

giving up on this one

Lots of low rated games lately.

Can't wait for the next Inka games.

Last Ena game was good, but I'm longing for a Selfdefiant...

Nope, I don't continue this. Only japanese hints, I'll give it

...up.

Well I've found a box that needs blue/red/green numbers. A box that has 2 buttons white/black on top. A clock with no hands. Lots of books with the spines in Japanese. A bookcase with blue/red/green books and a note that says S down arrow E. I have no idea what to do with any of them....Oh and a strange machine that does nothing

I thought the B/W buttons are probably from the B and W white books left of clock ?

Not good, lots of colours and no hints..

Got the 2 button box open.
The books as i guessed.
Don´t count them but only start with the colors from bottom to up.

All I know is that the red/green/yellow/blue books all have a zodiac sign at the top of the spine. Maybe that will help someone- it's done me no good, lol

Got a disk for clock with zodiac signs. On the many blue books are zodiac signs as well.

GRB books don´t work, i counted B 7,R 6, G 2, no go....

Is everybody gone ?

you mean
W ------- B
2xB
3xW
1XB

I do not get

@Zazie, I can't open the B/W button box either. I'm getting ready to give up!

Colour box open, bruteforced...started with 7 (then 6 and 1 or 2, but not sure)

More Jap crap...

It is : BBWWWB

You have to look only at the colour in each shelf, starting on bottom. Number of books doesn´t matter

Now i have a paper with a hint for blue books with zodiac signs.

I can not open the box of colors with those numbers :)

Sorry could close the box again and it was 861

I'm afraid this game hates me - I can't open boxes no matter what I try. I'll leave this one to you all...

Stuck with paper hint, there are 5 zodiacs (books) with green/yellow on the back, but clock doesn´t do anything.

zoz did you look at all 3 views on the bookshelves ? Upview, middle and downview ?

Maybe this is necessary to open boxes.

ok, POP! 861 worked on the color box (though I don't know why) and BB WWWW B (note 4 whites in a row) opened the B/W button box (again, I don't know why)

numbers last worked: 861
for box W / B ----- 3W and 3B

Look at my post at 10:13...

someone recently posted how to translate a screen shot - does anyone know how to do this?

Zodiac signs on books are : cancer (5 on clock), pisces 4, scorpio 9, sagittarius 10, aries 2.
But no idea what to do with them...

Translate a screenshot ? How translate ?

I want to translate the note with the green/yellow clue. But, again, I'm frustrated! rrrrrrrrgh

Ok pisces is here twice and now the machine is active to enter 7 numbers.

Correction : one gemini and one pisces.

So we have all the numbers we need : 10, 9, 1,2,4,5 but what is the sequence ?

1 5 9 10 4 2

Have to go now....

Ohhh cool Angelika !!! THX !!

the code by hieroglyphs from a note, on books to look at the first hieroglyph

Now there is a card above the color box, but stuck again and i really must leave, gl all and let me some hints please !

NOTE: Can't find the clock?

Look CLOSELY. The bookshelves are "3D", that is there is one shelf behind another, like in a library.
Took me quite long to find these B/W books.

BTW, reading your many B+W combinations tells me that there MUST be several combinations possible which are randomized with each new game.

I must have yet another combination since none of yours help me...

topmost row - 2 blacks
1 white
2 whites
3 whites (where the clock is)
4 blacks
(bottom row) 2 blacks

That would be BB - WWW - B

But zoz said it's white _four_ times.
This means that unlike what Zazie said, you DO have to count the books, and that you were just lucky to get the box open...

I see the BW books and have read the hints, but I still cant open the box with either method....

Mad with this game. My r/b/g bookshelf was 7-6-2, but as was said earlier by someone the code was 8-6-1
My b/w bookshelf is BWW WBB, won't work top down or bottom up, most likely because it's ALSO wrong, like the r/b/g code.
Don't get it, not happy 'cause it looks like it'd be fun. But no fun if it doesn't work like it should.

Did you all look closer to the paper hint at the wall ? In the view when you go back from the clock view and you see the wall pic in front of you, paper is on the right wall..

Zazie you mean that one that looks like a security / pass card with the arrow down and the 'E' ?

S = Start / E = End

Yes but it seems to be only a hint for the B and W shelf,(look at the shape) not sure, but my box opened after i zoomed in on the paper.

I cannot replay because i am at my little netbook which is way too small, to play games, will go in back later.

I am pretty sure that my hint at the beginning was correct because i made some notes on a paper, you must be right, that maybe the author changed some things or it is different in each game.

I tried 2xBlack, 3xWhite, 1xBlack and it does not open

I got warped out of the game (dumb links!), and now my "solution" will no longer work. But if this solution is supposed to stay, it should be an idiot-proof one that can't go wrong. The quest goes on...

I tried Arbeitslooser's method, and my box opened with RRR-LL

Really i think that it is different in each game, i will continue in about 30 minutes. I would like to escape, i am sooo stubborn :-)

Maybe you try my first solution Arbeitsloser lol

Jef: REALLY? LOL! Well, still I had to delete it since it's no solution that will work 100% of times. And I insist on it working that way.

Zazie, sorry but it would not make any sense to me!
You've simply invented the "bottom to up" out of the blue.

The clue says TOP DOWN because you need to go from (S)tart to (E)nd. The 'S' is faint, so you can barely read it, but it's there.
And what I thought is a security card might as well be a book.

Yep first i tried it from top to bottom but nope, that i tried from bottom to top and box opened.

For the "security card" i thought it looks like the shape of the shelf where B and W books are, hmmmm...

The logic in this game is more than douptful, but well....go on and help me when i will be back on my other PC. In a few minutes

Having a moment in this game. Using all of your bruteforce tries for the L/R-box, I think I finally found the way to open it - no idea why this works though.

LRLLLRRR (left and right) or
WBWWWBBB (white and black).

The box doesn't reset when you click the lock, so that's probably why many different solutions worked... at some point you must have clicked the correct way (even if you keep clicking after the correct sequense the box opens).

Yes, Zazie, that might be true too!
Anyways, it IS top-down because otherwise the sketch of the shelf would be mirrored! (vertical line on the right hand side)

Ohhh Ellie coming to our rescue! We love to have you here again! :)

Ellie, your combination works for me as well. You're a marvel! No idea how you managed to suss that out, but heck, it works :P

Hi Ellie !!!! Great to see you !!! Now rescue us, i am back to escape.

@arbeitslooser, not really any rescue, since I don't have the explanation, but glad it worked :)
I combined a couple of different ideas, which made me realise half of my first idea worked together with your clickings :)

So now i still have the new hint : CARD and 3 rectangles, no idea what to do with this ?

Hi @Zazie! Great to see you too!! I'm staring at books and numbers now, but nowhere near the solution lol. Tried 9101245, but that was obviously too simple (clockwise starting from 8, using symbols on the green/yellow books).

Lol, I see you got spoiled with the books long ago. Moving on then :)

The symbols and the position on the clock. Angelika gave us the sequence, i only found the numbers :
1 5 9 10 4 2

Now i really need help with this card hint, i am getting tired lol.

What card are you talking about?? I got a key after solving the numbers, and opened the door. Out.
Obviously there are more endings.

Where was a key ???? I have got a green light on the machine, switched the lever and the door did not open, but there was a card on the shelf above colour box....i am getting troubled lol.

Yes I'm out too with the quick 'n dirty end ;)

Ellie and I got a kind of staircase we could climb up on the very same shelf, and escaped :)

OMG i am out too.
The colour box shelf transformed into stairs and on the top was the key, argghh

But i never understood this CARD hint !

And i am sure that he wasn´t above the colour box before....

What card hint? You mean the one on the paper with the two color stripes? (green + yellow)

No ! On the shelf above the colors button box was a new paper with : "CARD" and 3 squares on it.

Empty squares....

And i could zoom on the paper.

Well that game is called "strange escape" lol....good title.

I had to leave for a moment. Got back and now I could see the card too! I got the same ending with and without the card - no idea what it's for.
To see the card, the lamp/lever has to be up, and to get the stairs (and the key) it has to be pulled down.

Thanks Ellie!

Let me also translate the note in the box:

お菓子のため

= FOR CANDY

Probably for perfect end, as in these games, it's a usual thing that if you found the candy, you get a happy ending. :)

Haha i just replayed and saw that the card comes only when the lever is up as Ellie said. Duhhhh, at least i was not dreaming :-)

Ok ok....there must be another ending, played again with machine (after i opened the door without going out) and i have got the 3 numbers for the squares !

Yes, and maybe yet another ending, since what you can read on the note in Japanese definitely refers to the colored markings of the books.

There must be some combination hidden in them...

(e. g. the one with Sagittarius is one that we need, Green-Yellow)

I have got the number 042 (the last 3 #s on the machine now, the others are off) but no idea where to use them (colour box doesn´t work)

Ok, light was green (still) and i was stupid enough to play around at the bottom on the first 4 buttons (slight yellow lines are visible, green light went off and no idea how to get it back). So i am considering myself out for the second time lol.

Bruteforce of 042 shows that we should change it to 487 instead (please, someone explain this lol).
That gives a card from the pic, with 3 new digits.

Now card for me from pic ?

Yes yes yes, lever must be down, omg

And where to use the new digits ?

No idea where to use the new numbers (759) from the card, but maybe all it takes is to escape with this card. I don't have more time tonight to look deeper into this. Lots of things bruteforced and unexplained still.

Well, the problem is that it says CARD[ ] [ ] [ ]

And this is *SEVEN* numbers. But we get 3 from the CARD, and 3 are what Ellie sussed out for us. This makes 6, not 7.

That pattern on the card looks interesting. As if the white thing is a 'X' for multiplication.

However 759 x 487 gives 369633, still doesn't fill the 7-digit thing.

I am tired and out of ideas, maybe i come back to this tomorrow ! Thx all for the help, in fact i escaped it already twice lol.

I thought this as well, but i didn´t try it yet. This music is so annoying....(i have the TV beside me and i cannot stop this game music grr)

N8 n8 everybody !!

CLIFFHANGER ALERT!

数字は今後のゲームに関係があります

This is the text you get when you obtained your card.
It says, that this number will only be relevant in a future episode!!

So you had better not rack your brains about it...

After reading on a Japanese forum, I can say the explanation to the B/W code is the color of the books from top to bottom (BWWWBB). But the hint also adds a White S on the very top and a Black E at the very bottom, so you should add those in the code:
Start with W, then the books BWWWBB, and End with another B. That is why the final sequence is WBWWWBBB.

Thanks Edgar!! Finally this is about to make some sense...

So THAT is why the 'S' was so "faint to read", as I had explained it! That was the hardest puzzle in this game by far...

Video walkthrough with all codes explained is now posted on top of this page.
