Where or what may be hint for 4 digit box?

can't find last doll nor the combo to the safe :(

Open curtain a few times for key.

Tree tells color order for dolls but can't find green doll nor open safe

got 3 girls

battery
stuck

battery goes in tree to get doll order. key goes in drawer to get safe

try 2013 in box but it didnt work
any clue?

Hah. Got it. Count all the exclamation marks on each page, very carefully.

The first page has one. The second page has three (two in speech bubble, one over girl's head).

Thought the box code might be something to do with the number of exclamation points (!) per page, but no joy so far!

That is the best Christmas story I have ever read.

there were no exclamation points on either page 1 or the last page...
