Rambler, does it help to understand Japanese?
I've only been able to turn off the light and open the "chairs" drawer.
I opened the XO drawer with random clicking...
@Peggy, no Japanese required, just some nice simple puzzling. Have you got the blue box? Take it to the key under the right hand chair....

Check out the bottom of the chairs, use your box. :)
Take the box to the key to unlock it. I was stuck for a while thinking I needed to find something to cut the key loose.
A little buggy. The lower right corner of "stars" frame cannot be clicked. You need to click a bit higher.
Gotta go to work now :(

how to open chair drawer ?
kevaus, you need to turn off the lights and look at the stools first.

OK, all you smarty-pants who found this so simple, what's the clue for the 'stars' picture? I have a paper with 'rsta' in 4 colors, but don't know how that all works.

My mistake, thought you flipped it but instead you dip it in canister of water.
Of course, tried everything posted, but didn't work until it was posted. Guess I didn't find the right pixels.

I don't understand the clue for the stools. Am I meant to press the first button five times or do something 15 times, or....I don't even know!

do not understand how to relate four coloured corners to star picture. please help?
@evans - have you opened the O X drawer yet ? That tells you which letters of STARS relate to which colour. The clue for the O X drawer is under the black mark at the left end of the shelf above the stools (wipe the mark with the cloth). I was stuck where you are 'cos it took me ages to spot the black mark !
Well, I think that was the first time I had to take a box to a key rather than the reverse!
No one has commented on how to open the canister to dip the "water" paper in. It's easy is really not enough for me. Tax season is almost over and my brain is fried.
Rechecked comments. Unknown gave hint about rechecking blue box. Coin in bottom of box. BTW brain still fried.
I was NOT getting the stars picture getting aggravated - until I realized the word is PLURAL - LOL!! Out now.
After all these years, I should know from the start to take the box to the key!
Yeah... Just a bit buggy. The clue from the water paper randomly appeared before I had opened the tin, then disappeared again. I spent the next five minutes trying to get it back before giving and checking the boards. Good thing I did! So the bugs kind of sucked out the fun, but otherwise the puzzles were quite nice.
