I haven't been able to do anything else than open the locked cabinet. What's with the Japanese writing?

It's "a - ru yu - e nu" if I've deciphered the hiragana correctly, but I have no idea what it might mean.

It's phonetical representation of letters (English) :)

"aru" (with weak 'u') - English pronunciation of 'R'
"yuu" - English pronunciation of 'U'
"enu" (with weak 'u') - English pronunciation of 'N'

The last letter appears to be an N. Might be a bug that the actual word was intended to be 'RUN'.

Thanks for the help, fdbbd2. After opening that drawer the game was easy. I never could have figured that out on my own.

(update: Not a bug. The last letter 'IS' an N. You will figure that out if you finish with 1st or 2nd letter.

Ah maybe they fixed it now. I can't get "rug" to work anymore.

Hmm no clues where to find a stick to get key under bed... I don't know how you think it can be easy and not leave a shred of info for us latecomers! I have no idea for colour number code, no idea for picture frame on wall, no cutter for upper cabinet, argh!

Look at blue square in inventory....rest is easy

use "about item" on blue square

Thanks, I found a video on youtube and realised that although I looked behind red chip, I hadn't looked behind the blue one. Thank you for taking the trouble to answer :)
