Pretty straight forward.
Only "challenge" was the chess-puzzle, fill all squares with lines.

For the chess board, notice which pieces are stuck with which other piece, and then join them on the board making sure that all the squares are filled.

you find the stars in the picture

The stars are in the actual picture.

Can anyone tell me the names of the chess pieces please?

I just love 123Bee! Thanks for the game!

Rook & Knight, King & Queen, Bishop & Pawn.

AlphaOmega Thank you. :)

On the board, drag each one to it's partner on a path. Fill in the board.

COLLECTING ROUND.

Blue piece in the plant on the left, yellow flower on the table.
Lift vase below the table = circle 1/8.
Circle 2/8 behind books on the shelf.
Green piece above tv.
Click loudspeaker symbol to turn off the paa-paa-paa-noisy stuff.
Go right.

Take tablet from the top shelf.
Take circle 3/8 from two shelves lower.
Click christmastree on picture frame, it turns pink-2.
Click open space next to drawer = chess game.
Open it, take the pieces.
Take blue box below drawer from bedside table, open it = circle 4/8.
On bedside table = pink piece.
Go right.

On the table an orange piece.
Behind the clock = circle 5/8.
Click christmastree for a red-5.
Click colorful painting sort of for circle 6/8.
Open door next to fridge for a box.
Place yellow flower in the kitchen drawer = blue circle.
Click door up right, take a chess box.
Go right.

Click christmastree for green-7.
Take red piece on the right.
Up high on the right = circle 7/8.
Up high on the right a colorful ball.
On a green shelf = circle 8/8.
Take the four music notations symbols.
Click painting, look for three stars = yellow circle.

COMBINING ROUND

Back to the very first room on the left.
Click the tablet in your inventory, put the circles in it, do the math.
The hole in every circle fits in only one place.
If you have saved the circles for now, place them from top to bottom, starting up left.
It gives you the number for the cupboard door on the right = square piece.

About item the colorful music box. Place the music notation symbols, according to their colors = square piece.
Go right (= second room).

Zoom in on the colorful drawer on the left, place the 5 pieces = square piece.
(Apparently that’s what it’s all about).

Zoom in on the 3-number frame at the wall, use the christmastree solutions there = square piece.

At this point I searched for a knife to untie the chess pieces.
Don’t do that !! It’s a wrong thought !!

Look at the way the chess-pieces are connected.
Click a chess piece on the board, connect it with the one it’s tied up to by dragging a line. The green lines can’t cross each other, and all black squares should become green.
Look at Wikipedia : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chess_piece
Now open the box = red circle.

Place the colorful circles in the colorful ball = 3 numbers.
Use them in the first room = square piece.
Place square pieces in second room in the bed = key to get out.

Phew, that knife hunt was killing …
