stuck on an island with partial raft build and clueless
got loads of things on the island and made a raft
I guess my screen freezed after I solved the gears puzzle.. can't close that window!
Bug on second island???
(Game won't end (yippieh!) but you'll be drifting off in your boat, and bump onto a rock (ouch!))
Now I've solved the cogwheel puzzle and CANNOT CLOSE WINDOW!
I think I can restart the game.

Dang, and everything began so promisingly...
OK forget what I said.. restarted and it works now xD
got out - key you get from captain is for the door you click on to see closer
Got back to the ship , opened door and got "gunpowder"
got bottle after a fierceless lightning battle between statues!
got key for chest from shooting cannon

where do i use the crank??
@DPotts side view (boat), there are two receptacles. You need to zoom on one of them to attach the crank.

How do you get to the boat after you lower it? I can't get to any screen where I can see it.
Ok I had to restart, if you back out of the screen before you attach the rope then you can never get back to the boat to attach the rope.
I cannot for the life of me spell out phony. Argh.
Ok if you do it wrong close it and start over. It's move a letter down, up, down, down, up, up. I think. Also when I make a comment here it freezes up the window and I have to close and re-open to post a new comment. I'm using firefox.
Froze at cogwheel puzzle too, using Chrome. I'm not starting over.
What door is key from skeleton for? I can't find it anywhere.

Well this sucks! I really wanted to finish but just cannot find anywhere to use key. Maybe if anyone comes back they could post the location for me and I will check later.

Oh yes, this is tricky. After attaching the rope, you seemingly still can't get into the boat. So zoom out, and press the << button when you see the whole ship. You need to view the ship from the opposite site, with the burly man standing there. Click on the man, and ...
Somehow I ended up looking through a tiny gun sight...and I can't seem to get out of that.

This is taking longer than I thought, have to leave now. This game reminds me of Stoneage. Love this style.
The use of the black key ....
In the zoomed out position, overseeing the ship, click the middle part. You're viewing the door now. Click right of the cabin, there's a side door.

I cannot get out of the gear puzzle. Is there a special trick or is it a bug? Pleeeeeeeease help!
Thx arrie NL. For me there were three roadblocks. The first was shooting the bottle was pixelly, eventually I got it after multiple seemingly fine shots. The second was having to click on the guy (me?) before the lifeboat would launch. And the third was the secret hidden door to the right of the door used to see the skeleton pirate. Hint: just because a zoomed area closes after getting something, doesn't mean there isn't something else there too.
I have spelled out "phony" correctly but nothing happens.
Stupid cog puzzle...solved...can't close it out. STUPID!!!
You have to have the second note before spelling phony will work. You get it by placing the crown on the left statue in the captain's cabin.
