in table scene click on the left of 2 yellow door frame

how or where to lit the cigar?

use SD in room left of piano on statue in right shelf.

in the inventory box - zoom in the cigar, the lighter is in the globe - move frogs

lighter in globe in office - dig in plant for tortoise. After that trial and error

EHHH?!! Deja vu ?

I could swear I saw this very same interior in a previous game already.

I have 4 chess pieces, cigar and tortoise. When I try to move frogs on globe,it says 'it can't be used yet.' What do we have to do first?

@arby, you have. They have used this house 4 or 5 times now. Always different stories though.

took me awhile to find the dog. it is a dog-clock :)
thank you Mako!!!

Did you get the 8th tortoise from the plant in the office? Place it on the globe, then start moving one at a time until they stay in place

Critters on globe are tortoises - add the one you found to complete

Yes I correct myself...this CAN'T be the same story. Because the navigation is EVEN weirder than in the previous episodes. The arrows seem to work quasi-arbitrarily ;)

somehow I can not find the last chess piece. black I believe have the pawn already.

Ty Janet !

Zuleika there is a turtle missing

I've found the second dog eye in the bathroom, any hints on the first one?

Something in the office will shed some "light" on that

Chesspieces: one in bathroom (under bathmat), one in light fitting, one behind cushion on sofa (I think), one in office but can't recall exactly where

Tortoise, then.

LOL I thought i had checked that ceiling light Thank you

Out now.

Looks like all the needed hints are here.

Haha, found the chess piece which led to the other eye, ty Janet

       Anonymous  4/18/15, 7:59 AM

omg...a chess piece was in my inventory and I didn't know it. After searching around 4EVA I happened to scroll the inventory. GRRR. Woudl've been out a long time ago.

Putting the four chess pieces on board gives an eye

n case anyone is as silly as me, the cloth is used on the back of one of the pictures in the study. Not on the chess board......

Can't find a chess piece behind a cushion on the sofa....

Not one there - Check the handle on the inside exit door

Excellent game!
Only needed help with the laptop password, Thanks Janet!

Starting now. If I find it, IF .... I'll let you know Zoe.

There isn't anything behind sofa cushions...but found the 4 chess pieces

Four is all you need

Yes, Janet, thanks! It was the piece on the door

I used computer password, and all I see is a lighthouse....is something supposed to happen?

Should see letters on lighthouse

I guess I need to know where the cigar is....I have the lighter and see the astray...

Oh - letters! Thanks again, Janet!

Letters on lighthouse work on box on living room coffee table

There's my cigar!! Getting there :-S

Give that woman a cigar ;-)

My chess men won't go on the board, what am I missing?

Out! Thanks to you, Janet! Have a nice weekend!

I never did use the cloth either...in fact never found a cloth. Just BF'd the chess pieces...

tolo...I just highlighted a chess piece and clicked all over the board. Did that 4 times, but apparently there's a cloth somewhere that you use on one of the pictures on the wall in the office room that gives where to put the chess pieces

There is a cloth in the office bookcase - left side - row with a slanting book. In one of the middle books. Use the cloth on back of the picture in the office to give exact spots for chessmen. Otherwise just do what some of us did and click each square with the piece until it stays in place - lol

How awesome Flash !! Going through the bookcase now, you don't have to zoom in and out to go from one shelf to another.
Really well done.

This gives a cool new meaning to the well-known English expression "Close but no cigar" ;D

Zoe, I did find a chess piece in the hanging lamp in the study, a black King. Is that the one you need?

Lol...my "score" is a negative number (-2140)!

Oh, there's a chess board ... we need more?
Hi Janet!

arrie...no I saw that hint and found that one...I was missing the one in the doorknob that was behind another door

Very good game, way better than 512's dungeon-style ones. (put A in B get C&D put C&D into E get F...)

arby, the only english saying I know is 'raining cats and dogs'.

CLOTH: You need to complete the (hard) puzzle inside one of the big books in the study with the rotating circles, cloth will be inside. Watch out, it's harder than it looks.

@arrie "Close but no cigar" means "you are close, but not spot on" (which usually stands for: being close doesn't necessarily mean it will bring you further in your quest)

Hi Arrie - for your Clio walkthrough - computer password changes with every game

Thanks arby.

Thanks Janet.

arby, lol !!! It took me one click to get that cloth ....
I will replay ofcourse and click another corner first ... but I read your post, so this is funny.

Hi, players! Because I can't play live...have to be elsewhere...grrr..and because I can be positive: @Arrie NL and @Clodagh have the cutest slippers ever! And thanks for the tip about the Star Trek ones! Perfect for an upcoming birthday. Leave good crumbs...sigh...I'll be back to pick them up later! :)

I've found one dog eye with the chess game, but I can't find the second one. In the bathroom, I've got one of the chess pieces and the code for the laptop (that gives the letters for the box on the table).

This comment has been removed by the author.

From Mako earlier - put the special key in the bathroom to get a dice - move the dice three times to get the second eye

       Anonymous  4/18/15, 10:02 AM

@Janet,

Thank you, but... what special key ?

The special key comes from smoking a cigar !

Have a cigar - surprising what you'll find when it burns down

       Anonymous  4/18/15, 10:17 AM

@Janet,

I have the cigar, but "it can't be used yet"...

Did you get the lighter from the globe and tortoise puzzle?

About the cigar, click on it with lighter - then it can be used

       Anonymous  4/18/15, 10:20 AM

And that's the same for the globe : "it can't be used yet"...

       Anonymous  4/18/15, 10:23 AM

@ Janet,

No, I've not found the lighter, I don't even know where the tortoise puzzle is...

Oh, I sort of erased 'demands' lol, but it didn't work.

       Anonymous  4/18/15, 10:24 AM

@arrie,

Thank you !

After finding the bathroom (thanks, @Hotzenplotz) the computer clue was hard to find. Click down to the Left of the tub and you'll find a number. There you will also find the drain pull, which I think drains the tub after installing the 'special key'.

@Janet. tortoise puzzle is in the globe. Navigation is awkward.

Be sure to look at the bottom for L and R arrows, but also you can navigate without arrows over railings.

Firefly - yes I know - finished earlier and was trying to help pdgph

But thank you anyway ;-)

Once you get the dice from the tub, click several times to open it.

Oh, sorry! Misdirected my comment. Thanks for all your help!

Great WT, Arrie!

Tortoise was missing -- I was looking everywhere for a shovel!
Right side of dirt.

Lots of unused views, making it all the harder to find things like the SD in the middle of the wood panels (near phone)

Spoiler for tortoise/globe puzzle:
SE, E, S, NW, NE, SW, N, W

It's almost tomorrow for Clio, so here's your demanded .... eh requested walkthrough.

CLIO’S ESCAPE HUNT

Good morning Clio!
Welcome at your Escape Hunt. The real life escape experience. Provided by Flash 512. You have 60 minutes to escape this place. You’re walking on your own, but we are all following your walkthrough. Good luck!

Oh, and please leave some hints to let us know how you’re doing.

To find the game, click play on this site, scroll down a little to the three play-buttons, click the left one.

A lot has been done already in the previous episodes, but in the livingroom, check the box on the table. It needs a word.
Navigation may be a bit confusing, but find piano/door view and enter the study.

Study
Clio walks into the study, look, nice pics on the wall. She turns them around. One has numbers/letters on it. A riddle? ... Anagram? ... ROT? ...
She runs to the red laptop, desperately wanting to chat on EG24. Dazz can help solve this mystery!
Clicking the screen … oh, no … what’s the password again ?? (5 numbers, later).
And the chessboard can’t be used yet … sigh (4 pieces are needed).
The lamp is out of balance, Clio climbs on the table, yes! a chess-piece.
Then she checks the plant, wait .. a tortoise-knob. Where … ? … turning around .. ah, the globe misses one.

Is there more to find here? Turning around, Clio checks the bookcase, starting up right.
Right side:
- the statue … sounds like something is in there, a screwdriver is needed.
- let’s see … books … ‘Lost Knowledge’, yeah, that’s helpful …
- the dog-clock needs eyes.
Left side:
- one of the books on the lowest shelf can be opened.
- come on, do the puzzle in it = cloth. (If you get frustrated Clio, there’s a suggestion below).
- Usually you wipe something clean with a cloth, but …
POP ! Hang the cloth on the numbers/letters pic, 4 remain open. YEAH.

Clio turns around and takes an extra look at the globe.
- That’s weird, the tortoises can move .. ah, they all have to be pulled out and stay out = a lighter. (First one is Southeast).

Livingroom
- Now, get the orientation right … In piano view, walk right into the small hallway, hey, a little square piece in the left panel, yes, the screwdriver.
- The door on the other side, opens – OUT … nope, that would have been too easy LOL. But look carefully, there’s a chesspiece on the doorhandle.
Let’s go to the dining area, by arrows (from piano view) down, left and click up left (no hotspot).
There are two doors on the left, the left one is the bathroom.

Bathroom
- What was dropped below the towel, tadaa : a chess piece.
- Left of the tub : THERE is the password (number on the wall). Clio knew she had it stored away in a safe place! And let’s pull the chain as well.
- The shower needs a small tool.

CLIO’S ESCAPE HUNT – part 2

Clio runs back to the study … Finally she can call for help on EG24 Chat ! No no, it’s not allowed to play a new game
on chat ! Shame on you !
- She enters the password and clicks the arrow on the screen .. is that a word? …
The box on the table !! She runs into the livingroom and opens the box. Mmmmm, the uplifting smell of a good cigar.

- Chat is forgotten, she about items the cigar and lights it … relax … (it’s just a game, smoking is bad for your health, I know).
You do realize you can’t keep us waiting any longer, do you ?! And you’re in here for 40 minutes already … hurry up …. back to escaping!
Clio puts the cigar on the ashtray, moves away and zooms back in again. There, a strange key.
She remembers the shower and places the key on it, the water starts running, she finds a dice in the tub.
(if you follow this order it will happen as described, if not, you’ll see no water, but the dice will be there).

Study
- So, what’s left? The sd of course, on the statue up right = chess piece.
- Now, time to learn how to play chess. First put the pieces in their starting position, as shown on the picture (two possibilities for each colour). If you do it right, you get a dog eye.
- Then toss the dice a couple of times, ooopps a dog eye.
- They go on the dog-clock = key.

2 minutes left! Well done. Clio walks to the little hallway with double doors … bye bye !!

Spoilers.

Some things may go differently.
2nd time around I did not need to toss the dice, it was open already.

Book : can’t give a spoiler when you already tried, but if you really feel completely lost, I suggest you refresh the page, start the game again and only click upper left arrow on the page – done = a cloth.
But here too, it didn’t work a third time, I had to click left upper corner twice.

Turtoise globe: Southeast, E, S, Northwest, NE, SW, N, W.

PS ..Tossing the dice = about item the dice and click it a couple of times.

how do you get in the bathroom, where is the key?

simple once i found the damn bathroom door, didn't see the arrow!!!

@arrie !!!
You kill me, bud! This goddamn annoying knight (?) puzzle took me literally 5 MINS until I got it solved! And you're saying only one click, and you had it finished? Incredible.

"No no, it’s not allowed to play a new game
on chat ! Shame on you !"

Very cool inside joke, LOL.

Arrie - died laughing - wonderful walkthrough. In truth better than the game!

Sitting back, puffing on my cigar, feet on the desk and admiring my own ability to escape. I didn't realise you were writing down everything i did Arrie. lol

Thank you so much for another brilliant w/t, arrie. Im such a good escaper that I hadnt even noticed the scene where the screwdriver was. lol. Thank you again.

I really wish there as a way to hide the hints in the comments, like in Jay Is Games or Lazilaces... No matter how catiously was trying to get a certain hint, I read four hints on other things I didn't want to get help with - and that made going on rather pointless, since now I know what I would have to do once I got the hint I wanted in the first place... :(

Ah clio, glad to see you got out !
