Can't find the place to use the shovel. I guess that's needed to get get gas.

Just use the red can on the tap of the barrel (in the scene with the businessman).
I'm guessing the red can is in the #'s box by the store that has the colored sign on it....haven't figured that out yet.
Order of those numbers is the the order the coloured letters appear.
Okay, cheers! missed the red can! I guess it's in the other chest, of which I don't know how to open...

took me several tries to read the number hint in cave (ladder is needed): numbers left to right, second number is a 5
Thanks! I had them written down and then completely forgot I had.
Use the saw on the tree on the left in the scene of the lake to get wood.
No idea why the second number in the cave clue is a 5! Can someone explain it. Very enjoyable game with typical Selfdefiant humour. Thanks! Is this the end of this series?

So i have no underwater chest after digging in all the scenes, everything is crossed off the list but i cant go to sleep until i talk to the lady at the dock who is not there.
the cave clue is in the same room, on the right side cave wall
...and now my shovel is gone

To me the second number looked like 5 (it's the bottom thingy, not the rake the stick figure is holding).

The lady on the dock should have asked if I wanted to be in a show before I dug up a chest of gold. Don't need her now.

how did you move the golf cart?
Curiosity got the better of me. I see it now. I thought the '5' was a circle with an arrow indicating that the numbers should be used in anticlockwise order!
did everything on the list, now tells me to talk to the lady on the dock - there no lady anywhere :((

OK...I never opened the underwater chest, never got a shovel, but completed the task, saw the lady on the dock and then went back to the cabin and went to bed. I was apparently playing while SD was making changes?
There is a bug with the golf cart. after putting the barrel down, when you return to the house the barrel and cart can be seen on the right side of the screen.

I'm on a tropical island, everyone is wearing shorts & swimsuits and I'm building a fire.......I don't feel like I've thought this through very well..
Was it right that I didn't solve the cave box, or dig up the box under the sea, and yet I finished?
You can apparently finish early...I got the shovel, dug up the gold, pretty sure I've completed all of the tasks....the lady made me an offer and I can't respond.
I played again, so I could at least get the shovel and the gold box. It wasn't on the chore list, so once all them were crossed off, you could go to bed. I reckon the lady reporter will be for the next installment :) Love this series, SD! Thanx!

s-t - you mean where you get the boat, on the lake, outside the cave, or inside the cave? I can't find it at any of those places...

Not a bad game, SD, but the 4# clue in the cave was a shocker. That 5 looked like a curved arrow to me, so I figured you were showing the way the numbers should be read.

Jools - the number clue is actually on the rock wall to the right - not the little gold squiggles on the rock that you get the gold from
Couldn't finish - my lighter disappeared after I lit the lantern to go inside the cave, so I didn't have it to light the fire. Apart from that, loving this series - thanks SD!
Still a bug, my cart appeared behind by golf buggy before I'd even got the cart, but it wouldn't let me pick up the barrel. Had to resort to walkthrough to find blueprints to get a cart I already had then it worked.
Got gold but gas can disappeared.
Game has too many bugs. Can't get the seaweed from where the dude was that asked for the blue crab.
Still waiting for part 8....
