Error in the chess clue. Repeats 3c. FAIL

Found everything except the last dark heart for the first scene. Unfortunately the chess clue does not seem to work. Tried many combinations for Ron and James but nothing happened.... cannot finish... :(

what is the trigger item for the swans scene?

I think it is the heart shape with a white swish in it.... any item that you only find one of is a trigger. I restarted because I filled up all the spaces with non trigger things first :)

I abandoned it with the chess puzzle unsolved.

Oh, no I didn't. I had left the window open, and I just glanced and saw the other part of the chess puzzle. Hmmmm

So finishing the chess puzzle (hard to call pressing a button brute force, but brute forcing queen=3) gives the dark heart with a teddy. Placing that lets you leave

The chess puzzle has 3 components... the list of names with the 2nd name being relevant to chess pieces, then the chess board with numbers and letters to show you how to decipher the code of 8b=5, etc. Go to the board without the numbers and letters, find the positions, see what piece is there, compare to 2nd name and the corresponding number is for that name.... hope I make sense... unfortunately 3c=7 occurs twice....

On a board where figures in dispersion watch a place 8b-this the white officer, In the list the white officer belongs to Joly, means in the book will be equal 5. Number 982357
