While not intuitive, there are no bugs. Pieces that you are assembling are held in a view that is not part of the inventory. Clicking on any one piece in the inventory brings you to this assembly area, so no pieces are ever lost. Once the puzzle is assembled, be sure to click it to bring the completed item back into your inventory.
The main complaint I had is that the keys must be placed almost exactly over the hole. Most designers define a fairly wide trigger zone, which helps avoid a situation when a player tries to use an item in the correct location but fails to get the exact spot. The player then concludes the item goes somewhere else and never thinks to try it again.
In this game, the designer could easily have allowed any one of the keys to open any one of the doors. They all look the same, and there are no sequencing issues with using keys and opening doors in any order. On the other hand, giving each key a unique shape/color/pattern and then stylizing the locks in a similar fashion would give players an unambiguous clue for what to do.
was a bit of a pixel hunt, but an ok game

I happened to click a link from FB not realizing this was the game i tried before, and saw your comment, so I thought I'd try it again.
I see what you mean w/ a view not in your inventory. I still had the items, but only when I had another piece to put in the puzzle (or once puzzle was completed)could I bring it up.
I have to say I don't like that. Us old people quickly forget what they had if it's not right in front of them. Luckily it's a short game :)
I WOULD like to see an indication when you hover over a clickable spot otherwise, as kevaus noted, it can become a pixel hunt--not fun for many people.
Overall a quick 5 minutes to collect 13 puzzle pieces, fairly easy to find despite no hover indication, and 4 keys, put them together and escape. No thinking required, nothing that stands out as unique or eye-catching graphics, but I enjoyed the respite from my work ♥
Thank you for the game!
Oh, and i deleted my previous comment as it indeed was not a bug!
