Wires in buffer machine are color code for street lamp in 2nd scene. You get scissors.
Toaster in panel on roof of middle building, 1st scene.
Toaster gives clue for code on same building.
4 shirts in 1st scene give clue for colors on first small building in 2nd scene. Get a knife.
Knife opens 4 garbage bags in 2nd scene. Get clues for doll slider puzzle in same scene.
I got the 4 dolls from the garbage bags, but have no idea how they relate to the slider puzzle... ug
Doll slider puzzle in 2nd scene gives a key which opens the door in the middle building in 1st scene.
Iron inside middle building, 1st scene, gives color clue for puzzle on 1st lamp post in same scene.
I didn't see how the dolls related either. I just moved the sliders around and got lucky.

Water tank inside middle building, 1st scene, has clue for 6 item code inside middle building, 2nd scene.

Scroll from code revealed by brush gives clue for red arrows found in middle building, 2nd scene.
Letters go in slots left of table located in middle building, 2nd scene. I think I only need an 'N' now.
2nd scene, above doorway of middle building, slider puzzle clue is folded clothing inside on table. Simple 2, 3, 1, 4. I got final 'N'.
Rearranged letters in slots next to table inside middle building in 2nd scene, got briefcase. Opened to get key then unlocked kangaroo's cage in 1st scene.
