I don't mind helping this young lad escape, but I can't help wonder : if he's that brilliant, then why would he need our help?
To be able to enter the bug-house, note the left/right clue on the house, use it on the wings of the bug.

well the bookhint is funny, tried that word of course after finding the pot with the yellow stuff.
you can assemble glasses only when all 4 are collected - filled give hint for sliders

There is no external clue for the colours, just look at the outer lines (blush).
