3 colored balls/buttons hint is in order as you read.

I think the sliders were hinted twice.
Used the balls on the tree as hint, but later I saw a real hint with hearts.

Heart sliders don't work before you zoom in on balls on tree

Yes, when zooming in on the tree you get the hint and then you can do the heart sliders, but later (with solving the 4 direction arrows) you get that hint again:
