sign with letters in coloured circles needs NO additional hint to be solved
the paper roll with the hint "5 A+B E-C...etc.) is the hint for the A - F puzzle in 1st scene, but I didn´t understand the hint, so I bruteforced the puzzle. Would be nice if someone would explain why the correct solution is pɐɟqɔǝ.

thanks donbott for your answer - I thought of that but came to no conclusion: first two letters on the hint is "A + B" what could mean "1 + 2" which makes 3 so the first letter of the solution had to be "C" but actually it is "E". also the second two letters "E - C" couled mean "5 - 3", that makes 2, so second letter of the solution should be "B" but is actually "C".
Maybe someone can come up with a better explanation?

@Helmut, you start with the 5 (E), then "A+B" etc.
HB: for that puzzle:
A=1, B=2,C=3,D=4,E=5,F=6
Puzzle: A,B,C,D,E,F
A+B= 1+2=3 so A+B=3.
E-C = 2
E+A = 6................
by solving each math on paper you get:
3,2,6,1,4
since number 5 is written under the A so A should be the 5th button.
A+B represents B, since A+B = 3 so B will be the 3rd button.
E-C represents C, since it is 2 so C is the 2nd button.
E+A represents D, since it is 6, D is the 6th button..

We have our note with 5, A+B, etc.
After converting letters to numbers to solve the math you just convert them back into letters.
5, 3, 2, 6, 1, 4 make E, C, B, F, A, D
