Stuck with fishing rod (no hook), shrimp, screwdriver, board and nails/hammer and matches. Do not repair boat unless you are ready to leave the game.

Have matches and screw driver left in inventory. Already used dynamite to blow up the rocks. Stuck now.

Got an umbrella from picnic table.
Got a knife when at the waterfall.
Look for something sentimental for the hook, and poke in a nook for the matches, and umbrellas are good for more than sun! Excellent game.
3 possible endings - bad, normal & good
I think I got the good ending. Went back to reply and have rag, knife, matches and screw driver in inventory. Will these items allow me to find the other two endings or do I need to start over to get the board to fix the boat?

Thanks Melody54. I did that and got to a nice yacht ending. I've been saving the game as I go so I can find the other two endings. So when I returned to the game to find the other two endings I had the rag, the knife, the matches and the screw driver in inventory. My question was can I find the other two endings with these items or do I need to go back a bit further in the game?
Left and right give the two good endings. You've found the best.Mending the boat gives the bad.
Ah well, I got two endings. A bad one and one entering a yacht. Trying to load the game to find another ending I got only up the start for a new game in spit of clicking Load game.And ofc having saved eagerly. Not starting all over again. But, yes, this game was lots of fun - enjoy!
Got the yacht ending and the row boat ending. Can't find a way into the beautiful home with the chalkboard sign in front. Tried wetting the rag as I thought maybe wiping the sign would give a clue. No luck.

after you cross the bridge and get the key, don't save. You can use the key on either building for different ends.

am afraid to hit the menu button, I dont want to have to start over like I would have had to with an earlier FEG.
It's safe to click the menu button :)
From there you can save and turn the music (BGM) down or off

Had to start over as I repaired the boat immediately and hadn't saved, of course. And then had to start over for the third ending, as I had saved too often and had no blue key any more, of course. But no problem, the game was worth it.
