ReplyDeleteWhen you add whole column (from left grid) you get 8, the same when you add whole row (from top grid) you get 8. Then look at second column (left grid)- 11, and second row (top grid)- 11. And so on.

What in the world is a picross game?
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, I get it. I'veplayed these before, just not under that name.
ReplyDeleteOkay - the grid of black and white squares is a logic puzzle. The rows are 3 squares across, and the columns are 5 down.
If you look at the "clue" grids on the wall, you'll see that they're both labeled "1 2 3 4". One grid gives you the number of black squares in a ROW, and the other gives you the number of black squares in a COLUMN.
The thing to remember when you play t his type of game is that the numbers represent black squares, AND EACH ONE IS SEPARATED BY AT LEAST ONE SPACE. So if you see "1 1" that means you have two black squares total, separated by some number of spaces. In this case, knowing that we're looking at a row of three squares, the only possible answer is "X_X". The only possible answer for "3" is "XXX", so you can fill in those rows right away. However, you also have some that are just listed as "1". That single black square could be any one of the squares in the row, so we can't fill those in just yet.
So let's look at the clues on the "column" grid. Again, almost all of these can be filled in immediately. It's a column of five squares, so if you see the number "5", you can turn all of them black.
