ReplyDeleteKaren, I don't know if you have to have the screwdriver in your inventory (I don't think you can actively pick up and use things in this game - I guess it just uses them for you when you need them), but I just clicked on the knob/nail thing it was hanging on.

ReplyDeleteWhen you finish the slider puzzle - 4 numbers should appear above the puzzle. Combine this with the numbers on the window sill, and you get 8 numbers. Click the corresponding boxes on the puzzle so they are green. (left to right - top to bottom.)

ReplyDeleteThis is not top secret stuff...just a silly game ...
WALKTHROUGH
ReplyDelete1. The room is dark. Turn right once and click on the light switch (white square far upper right).
2. Click lowermost right part of the plant pot to the right of the bookcase to zoom in on the pot (can be tricky). Retrieve SCREWDRIVER (black, hard to see).
3. Zoom out and go right twice. Open curtains. Notice the grey rectangle in the bottom of the window frame. Click it to zoom in (can be tricky), and take down the numbers (2, 4 & 11).
4. Zoom out and click the yellow square to the lower left of the window. Click [Start] to scramble the puzzle. Then solve it. There are four rows that, from top to bottom, should end up like this:
1 2 3 4
5 6 7 8
9 10 11 12
13 14 15 (blank)
Take down the numbers that appear above the puzzle (1, 7, 9 & 12).
5. Zoom out and turn left once. Click the wall on the contrapment with the red buttons. Click the buttons to make them green, according to the numbers you have taken down (1, 2, 4, 7, 9, 11 & 12). Then click the arrow button (Enter). The buttons are numbered as follows:

5 6 7 8
9 10 11 12
Take the BOX KEY.
6. Zoom out and turn left. Click the little pink and white box on the bottom shelf to zoom in on it. Click it to "open" it (which it doesn't) and get the HANDLE.
7. Zoom out and turn right twice. Click the painting to zoom in on it, and then click the painting (or the nail holding it) to take it down. There is a safe behind it. Now click the black hole in the middle of the safe in order to put back the handle, open the safe (none of which happens) and get the DOOR KEY.
8. Zoom out and turn right once. Click the door to escape. Out!

I think challenging puzzles which include a larger number of smaller pieces and more complex color patterns can help kids to develop analytical skills and logic.
