I'm pretty sure the puzzle has something to do with the bookcase.

Each space has a number of items in it, 1-9, and a color, brown, blue, yellow

very similar to the spade, heart, diamond code, but don't see the link

  33. The password of the door is:

  38. Thanks larue! Ahead of all these now. Trying to figure out the door code!

    ReplyDelete
  39. interesting.

I guess you get to that code by switching the space on the shelf with the one next to it, according to how the code input was switched in respect to the code clues?

    whew, that was a mouthful

    ReplyDelete
  40. im out too... thx every1! bye!

  43. nice winter picture for the ending!

    ReplyDelete
  44. it was tough though, i didnt know whether the brown referred to "1" "4" or "7" or if the yellow referred to "3" or "9" so i had to try a lot of combos before i found the right one lol :P

    ReplyDelete
  45. Service temporarily unavailable : yes, this is a Sakura game...

    ReplyDelete
  46. Why id the door code 438? i've found heart = 2 on lamp, 4 = spades, so logically 42 and some 3rd number...

    ReplyDelete
  47. i did see along the the way~
    spade=4
    diamond=9

    ReplyDelete
  48. @mirko

thatd be too easy lol, notice the objects on the 9 square shelf and thier color?

brown corresponds to 1, 4, and 7, blue is the 8 books at the bottom (count them!) and yellow can either be the 3 bananas or the 9 stars, which i tried all possible combos for and ended up with 438 as the final result.

im gonna get a walkthrough going for this and the other game, unless another new game comes out right now.

  49. I didn't connect color with numbers, thanks suicune

  50. sigh. The internet in my building is on and off today due to contstruction, so I'll have to try this game later. It is taking FOREVER to load each scene. :/

    ReplyDelete
  51. 2, 5 and 8 are blue, why did you chose 8 and not the others ? And the question is the same for the last column. I don't understand how to get 4 3 8 from 4 2 9.

    ReplyDelete
  52. @pascale

well to me the 2 bottles and the 5 pens looked purple, thats why i didnt bother with 2 and 5. and for the yellow column, the plates looked more on the white side, so i didnt bother with 6.

however, for brown i had to try all 3 of the "brown" numbers because i coudlnt tell the shades apart, too similar!

but yea, 429 was the 1st thing i tried too, and its a very clever red herring, i enjoyed it. when i 1st looked at that shelf with the 9 objects, i IMMIDIATELY noticed that the objects in it have quantites 1-9 from top left to bottom right, it was right then and there that i KNEW that shelf would have a purpose later in the game. and turns out my hunch was correct, for when i tried 429 and it didnt work, i immidiately though about the colors of the clues found, and the colors of the objects on the shelf. from there i was able to find the clue on my own.

i like when the codes are complex, but use good logic like this, i liked this game.

  53. alright, i finished my walkthrough for "the test of wits" game, time for this one!

  58. I tried this game again since my internet connection seems to be working, but now I get a 503 error. Sheesh. Maybe I am destined not to play?

@Suicune, I am sure I will need a walkthrough if I can ever get in lol

    ReplyDelete
  59. Thanks for the walkthrough. :)
They seem to have changed the ending a bit. The door code was set to only a spade and two colored dots. In the end, I have no idea why there were numbers for heart and diamond at all.

    ReplyDelete
  60. hmm mabye the reason it keeps getting error 503 is because they are updating the game as we speak? (if the ending has been changed on us on the fly then its highly likely theyre working on it live)

    ReplyDelete
  61. I keep getting errors in IE, but got in on the first try in Firefox

    ReplyDelete
  62. been trying to play since yesterday server down message. no luck trying it off other game sites. :(-

    ReplyDelete
  63. I really like this game except for the ending. I don't think it's really fair to have a code based on what is a truer shade of a color, lol... if the clues around the room with the suits had corresponded to what shelf vertically to choose that would have made much more sense... but other than that, I enjoyed it a lot.
    :)

    ReplyDelete
  64. @Joerg I didn't get colored dots. odd

well, the game was very fun until the end code. That was a bit too obscure for me. I kept thinking we had to multiply or something because of the bookcase. I didn't pick up on the colors.

    Thanks for the code, Suicune!

    ReplyDelete
  65. once again thanks Suicune for the walkthrough. I never would have got the color thing as its hard to see colors on this old prehistoric monitor.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I've figured out the ending! I cracked the code with brute force (yes, I suck) but looking at it again I noticed the columns of the cabinet are defined by the object colors. From left to right: brown, blue and yellow. The clues indicate that the rows are suits. From top to bottom: hearts, spades, and diamonds.

    The clues reveal:
    A brown spade = 4 figurines.
    A yellow diamond = 9 stars.
    A blue heart = 2 bottles.

So according to the door code:
    Brown spade = 4 figurines.
    Yellow heart = 3 bananas.
    Blue diamond = 8 books.

I'm going to soothe my sore brain with a nice Minoto or Tower of Easiness.

    ReplyDelete
  67. hmm, elmer, what you are saying makes sense, that:

    row 1 hearts
    row 2 spades
    row 3 diamonds

but... i dont see what bananas or bottles has to do with hearts or books and chestnuts has to do with diamonds, or plates, pens, and figurines have to do with spades....

could be possible you figured out the code a different way than i did, its a tough code either way.

and lol, "tower of easiness"... so true!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Suicune, I got the numbers from the amount of objects in each shelf. There is one squirrel, so that box means 1. There are 2 bottles, 3 bananas etc... all the way up to 9 stars. Like this:

    123
    456
    789

The first clue said "brown spade=4". I noticed there were 4 figurines in a box in the brown column, so I figured "spade" might refer to the middle row.

Next clue was "yellow diamond=9". I saw 9 stars in the yellow column, the bottom box, so I reckoned that row was diamonds.

You're right, the units (bottles, bananas, etc.) are meaningless. Only the color and amount of them matters. Hope this helps!
