So what's that tower on 14?
ReplyDelete14 is my hometown!
ReplyDeletelol jon! :P
ReplyDeleteok, back to strugle a bit more--
well, i drive by this place a few times a week but I am stuck
ReplyDeleteIt's not the name of the restaurant either. Hm.
ReplyDeleteIf you need to find the tower you can google for "impressive towers of the world"
ok.. the tower is the space needle. the restaurant on the top is skycity. the town is seattle. it was for the worlds fair.
ReplyDeletefinally got past 13a. moving on.
ReplyDeleteI'm stumped on 14.
ReplyDeleteok...had to leave for a little while, now I am behind again.....back to 13a...
ReplyDeleteSpace needle... SkyCity restaurant? nothing working
ReplyDeleteGot 14. Add the city -3 words-
ReplyDelete@Enjoy I have a sister on Whidbey Island. Beautiful place!
ReplyDeleteSo 14 is the seattle tower or the space neelde, isn't it?
ReplyDelete@EnJoy, the restaurant was also called "eye of the needle" or "emerald suite" but that's not helpful.
ReplyDeleteI tried "moon", lol. Nope.
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you.
ReplyDeleteThanks @Edgar!! It's hard to know how many things to add in this game. On 14a now.
ReplyDeleteThanks Edgar.
ReplyDeleteBut that's what I don't like about these games.
Why the city and the name and why in that order?
there is a famous park in seattle to view the space needle.. I can't remember it. I have to go. The space needle is also located in the Seattle Center
ReplyDeleteno idea of the why s-t, i wish some game could be consistent in their structure.
ReplyDeleteWell, 832 didnt work on 14a.
It's great when it's possible to google the whole question and see the answer. On 15 now.
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo, on to 15.
ReplyDeleteI lost all my notes for 13a...I'm stuck! lol
ReplyDeleteIt should be 832. But how do you spell that in English?
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, why not include in the question what city or the name of the building or something like that.
Ha! 16 is Mexico :P
ReplyDeleteGot 15 easily since i trekked there once. It's in Peru.
ReplyDeletei have a photo i took of that llama. having sex with another llama. true story.
ReplyDelete@small-tool, write three numbers, but you're missing some steps inside the restaurant i guess. Google the question.
ReplyDelete@jonthewatch, find an alternative name for the roanoke and use two words from it.
The space needle's official web site has the correct number of steps, just use the numbers.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ellie, already found that one and it seems there are two different answers.
ReplyDeleteBut 15 is obviously Peru but where?
For 16, the biggest and most important of the Mayan ruins in Mexico.
ReplyDelete16a will need to anagram.
s-t, the same could go for 15. The most important of the Incas.
ReplyDelete@s-t its the thing you find at the end of the inka trail.
ReplyDeleteNvm. 15 was the most famous one.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks again Edgar and Ellie, somehow you catalyze my POP too.
ReplyDeleteTemporarily stuck on 18.
ReplyDeleteohhh stupid, of course! got 18... geez!
ReplyDeleteFor 16a i found a page that gave me the wrong letter. Same letter should not be used twice.
ReplyDeleteLol @small-tool!
ReplyDeleteAnd again I'm doing something wrong because the Apurimac River and the Urubamba River doesn't work on 15a!?
ReplyDeleteFor 16a I used this site:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.ancientscripts.com/maya.html
s-t, only the name... drop the river
ReplyDeletesee what i (we) mean?
@s-t exclude "river".
ReplyDeleteHint for level 17, it's in Japan.
ReplyDeleteI need help for 18a, anyone near?
Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYes of course why not loose river now and add a city in front of a tower name somewhere else.
i just got to 18a @Edgar, i'll let you know if i get anything
ReplyDeleteGreat zoz, aware with the tricked question.
ReplyDeleteI got 18a, I had the character but was spelling it wrong.
ReplyDelete19 looks like South America...
ReplyDeleteah, the bells, the bells!
ReplyDeleteFinally got the name of 18a, be sure of the spelling.
ReplyDeleteNo idea for 19 yet.
Thought that 16 would be Chichén Itzá or Chitzen Itza. But no.
ReplyDelete@small-tool, check your spelling
ReplyDelete@small-tool, right place, wrong spelling. Get rid of the accents.
ReplyDeleteYou'd think I know how to google church pictures by now, but still very stuck on 19 :(
ReplyDeletesmall tool, it is. No caps or special characters. Make sure you've put 16. I went through about 8 different ruins names with 15 infront.*insert exasperated smiley*
ReplyDeleteThanks girls.
ReplyDeleteStarting to hate this game. First I went wrong a lot of times with uppercase letters and now accents as well.
i think i found the cathdral, but I haven't figured out how to answer the stupid query! it's in london
ReplyDeleteGot 19!
ReplyDeleteIt's in London!
lol @Edgar, how did you enter the name?
ReplyDeleteoh zoz, should have refreshed.
ReplyDeletehm... it's 3 words, the first one abbreviated.
Thanks for 19! Lol, I looked at that place in so many pictures but didn't think it looked exactly the same. Now i decidded to try at least, since it was in England.
ReplyDeleteFor 19, it's 3 words, the full title.
ReplyDeletethx @Edgar, i must've spelled something wrong or forgot the number or any of a million other picky things
ReplyDeleteAnd temp end at 20a.
ReplyDeleteCongrats @cricketer!!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to remember what 20 is.
and finally on to 20!!!
ReplyDeletehint for 19a, he's a lord
Temp End...
ReplyDeleteThanks all for the fun, especially Jon for submitting... we should do this more often, don't you think Jon?
Thanks Ellie.
ReplyDelete20 is related to 19a.
I wouldn't have got quite a few of those without help.
anyone have a hint for 20???
ReplyDeleteah, thx @cricketeer, I was wondering if it didn't depict one of his battles...
ReplyDeleteThanks, got 20 with the hint! Temp end for me too :)
ReplyDeleteGoing back to pic 20, you can actually zoom in it to read the text below the plaque.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm still way behind.
ReplyDeleteStuck on 16a, used Edgar's site and know which ones are missing, but that's all.
Don't forget to bookmark the page everyone.
ReplyDeletefree at last, free at last thank god almighty i am free at last!!!!!
ReplyDelete@small-tool, anagram them. Use an online solver if you need to.
ReplyDelete@small-tool take the first letter of each missing and anagram it
ReplyDeleteLOL @zoz! But it was a nice captivity. At least great company :D
ReplyDeletesmall tool, anagram the letters.
ReplyDeletehttp://anagram-solver.utsire.com/
And of course, it was an anagram.
ReplyDeleteThanks again.
it's always fun to play with you @Ellie, even if that means i'm usually a few steps behind. I'm off now to feed some animals (including me!)
ReplyDeleteone last word @small-tool, don't be a blockhead!
Thanks @zoz, and have a nice meal! I could eat something really big and fat myself right now. This game took a bit longer than planned (not surprised though).
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to have a look at the link on 20a. Some nice buildings there :)
look out for the next riddle..... :)
ReplyDeletezoz,
ReplyDeleteI never played with Ian Dury.
And I have no problems with anagrams, just forget sometimes its anagrams you need.
Anyway going to bed, but wanna try to to finish it tomorrow (would be the first time ever I finish a riddle game).
So for tomorrow a hint; on 17 am I looking for the name af a baseball stadium, the city or a combination?
Good night all and thanlks for all the help.
What was the answer to 13, the sur le Pont d'Avignon one? Did anyone get that and then a question for 13a?
ReplyDeleteI tried all combinations of ponts and bridges, I tried French and English words, st benezet, avignon, I was on the bridge, under the bridge, in the water, I tried dancing, not dancing and yet ended up going straight to 14 with the chapel answer?
http://www.amgineriddles.com/worldagain/8iron.htm
ReplyDeletehttp://www.amgineriddles.com/worldagain/9pontdavignon.htm
@small-tool, when you come back tomorrow try this: google "domed baseball stadiums". As I recall it was two words, with the first word being the name of the city (but i'm not positive about that)
ReplyDelete@cricketer9999 I wish I could answer your question, but i think my brain has quit on me. I am once again LeadHead
hey @jon, what's the chemical abbreviation for iron?
ReplyDeletesmall tool, zoz was giving you a hint for 16a ;-)
ReplyDeleteFor 17, the answer includes the name of a city.
Edgar gave the country, google images for that along with baseball stadium, and it will be on the first page.
lol, yes yes...I know it's fe Zoz...brain not working terribly well at the minute....
ReplyDeleteAha! So we did get to 9a even if it was written as 9 twice. That "a" must have escaped to the answer to level 3a.
ReplyDeleteOh, thanks Jon I got that page but thought it was an egg saying I didn't have the correct answer
ReplyDeletesay Jon, should we be ready anytime soon or it will be for next weekend?
ReplyDeleteIt could appear anytime Edgar....did everyone finish Cipher: Crack the code??
ReplyDeleteI couldn't finish it Jon, I didn't feel like downloading a program to make some unknown mumbojumbo with the images only to get past one lousy level. You should know, the one with a colored table.
ReplyDeleteMaybe if someone could spoil that one to me (don't look around Jon!) I might give it another go.
So 20 is the end for now? sounds good. I made it... a few hours behind lol. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks to everyone, that was great fun
ReplyDeleteWhat happens when the author adds more levels? Will this thread be put back at the top, similar to the replay ones, or do we keep checking back to see if there are any new posts?
Also, is it possible to talk to someone or contact them on here, not going through the walkthrough pages? (That's something I've been meaning to ask for a while)
okay is anyone still here cuz i'm stuck on 13a :( came back from class and got to here...*sigh*
ReplyDelete@cricketer, there is the chatbox (link on top of this page) if you want to chat with people online. Many of us have an email-address if you click the avatar.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to say something to Yalcin (site manager) you can use the contact link, also shown on top of this page.
When there are new levels it might be posted again, if someone tells Yalcin about it and he finds it a good idea.
Thanks Ellie.
ReplyDeleteWould I need a blogger account to do that?
When I first visited here, this style of posting was new to me and I set up a wordpress account. Every time I post at the moment I have to do a mini sign in.
@Candi, for 13a, google Roanoke star and read wikipedia.
ReplyDeleteFind a nickname for the city. The solution is two out of the five words in that nickname.
@cricketer, I'm not sure if the c-box works with other accounts than a google account. That's what I have, and I only tried that. I only have to sign in once... why don't you try to get a google account? Just choose Google Account in the "comment as"-box. Write something and click preview. You'll be asked to create an account which only needs an email address from you.
you can send me an email asking about new levels or riddles. I am found in the cbox (chat) at EG24 regularly and: ishwatch@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteAlso, lots of the EG24 regulars are to be found on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/watchrepairsUK and send me a message for info on some eg24 regular people :)
Thanks, I'll set up another account.
ReplyDeleteJon, thanks I've made a note of those. Maybe you should delete the email address to avoid the spam bots.
it's ok cricketer...I have long offered an email address for eg24 people.....I have been a go-between for some time now :)
ReplyDelete@Jon, if you're still around... did you play Marv Riddle 2 and solve the Hellish Bonus level? If so, would you mind sending (e-mailing or FB-messaging) a hint for that one? I just can't figure out how to work the 8 eggs i got.
ReplyDeleteAh ok, fair enough :)
ReplyDeleteha ha Edgar...sorry, that stumped me.....you did better on that riddle than I! I might go back to it soon though so if I do, I have you on FB and will let you know :)
ReplyDelete11
ReplyDeleteThis is ‘kinda ka’ ,isn't it?
I have no idea the name of this part.
@Crook, check your spelling.
ReplyDeleteThe author has added new levels.
ReplyDeleteWow.. new level.. ah stuck!
ReplyDeleteAnd already stuck on level 21.
ReplyDeleteBach in the source.
21 is in Berlin.
ReplyDeleteBach wrote a famous concerto that might lead you to the right place....but I am stuck on 21a???
ReplyDeleteok.. not stuck. found where it is
ReplyDeleteI'm on 21a too. Looking for somewhere to go clockwise.
ReplyDelete21a. go clockwise? hm...
ReplyDeleteThanks I now what 21 is but it won't accept my answer with or without tor.
ReplyDeleteI know what it is.. where it is, but my computer is frozen!
ReplyDelete@small-tool.. it won't except mine either
ReplyDeleteok.. 21 is two words.
ReplyDeleteUse the english name for it. I tried tor first as well.
ReplyDeleteoh surprise.. 21a has me stumped
ReplyDeleteThanks for 21, but it's stupid, that's not the proper name.
ReplyDelete21a now.
Do the columns have names?
ReplyDeletethe gate appears on several euro coins surrounded by 12 stars for the European union, but they have so many interpretations! This is a hard level...
ReplyDeletethe stars on the german euro coins represents countries but I cant find if there is an order
ReplyDeletedarn, gotta go for a while...will come back later
ReplyDeletethe stars are also on the flag of the European Union.. each star represents a country...
ReplyDeletenever mind about the stars representing the countries.. that is not true
ReplyDeletethe 12 stars on the flag were adopted back when the European Union had 6 countries. Wiki gives me at least 18 different interpretations of those 12 stars.
ReplyDeleteWell, maybe it's not what we're looking for.
It's one of 18 gates in the former wall, but moving around among them doesnt give me a word yet.
ReplyDeleteNow I tried using the 18 gates surrounding Berlin, counting clockwise from top and from THE ONE here, but no go...
ReplyDeletelol @Ellie :)
ReplyDeleteGive up for now, come back later.
ReplyDeleteThe gates don't work, doesn't matter where you start.
Stuck in the same place.
ReplyDeleteI've tried counting the gates. Taking b.... as 1 and as 0. Nothing so far.
anyone on 23a - got the answer but not working?
ReplyDelete@Alison, we are all stuck on 21a, so if you want help on 23a it would be great with a hint for 21a ;)
ReplyDeletefor 21a wiki b---------g g--e, enlarge map and go clockwise from b, gate
ReplyDeleteenlarge map of berlin excise wall
ReplyDelete@alison, that's what we have been doing! Well, going again then...
ReplyDeleteHm... i tried that before.
ReplyDeleteThanks @Alison! On 22 now. So silly... I tried everything but that before.
ReplyDeleteThe B.... is number one...
ReplyDeleteyou're welcome - got 23a now
ReplyDeleteOh no! Level 22a quickly gave me a headache. Need to read that hint again, and again...
ReplyDeleteok, on 22 now, and i see "my" mistake.
ReplyDeleteUnterbaum is NOT one of the 18 gates... lame!
Still no go on 21a.
ReplyDeleteIs it a real word, are the letters an anagram?
@small-tool, a real word and no anagram. Start counting the B... as number one and move clockwise. Also count Unterbaum. First letters.
ReplyDeleteWell, just in case someone needs to know...
ReplyDelete22 is in Jerusalem.
Does 23a relate to 23 at all or is it completely separate because I can't find that flag.
ReplyDeleteEllie,
ReplyDeleteEdgar says no Unterbaum, you say count Unterbaum?
Anyway I get fuofw!!?
Nvm, got it, start at 1 everytime.
ReplyDelete@Small-tool, you should count it. Edgar meant that he didn't do that before since it's not a gate.
ReplyDeleteJust to make things clear, Unterbaum appears on the map and it has to be included/counted, even when it's not one of the 18 gates, but a bridge.
ReplyDeleteI'm still totally lost, trying to make sense of the hint in 22a. The product of the sum of the previous term and 3 and 2 and -1?? Hm, maybe I'd do better without the hint.
ReplyDelete@Ellie you would do better without it. I just looked at the pattern in the numbers and was able to get it.
ReplyDeleteFor 23a it looks like there's a clue in the source, but I'm not sure how I'm supposed to know the answer to the clue that's given.
ReplyDelete22 is easy, just a normal series.
ReplyDeleteIs 23 in your street Ellie?
ReplyDeleteFinally got 21a.. how many times can a person actually count incorrectly??? jeez.. moving on!
ReplyDelete@Ellie (or anyone stuck on 22a) try this link; http://www.research.att.com/~njas/sequences/
ReplyDeleteThanks @abba!! That did it. I shouldn't have cared about that hint in the first place. 23 now.
ReplyDeleteyw @Ellie. I tried reading the hint 10 times or so and it hurt my brain so I figured I'd just look at the numbers. =)
ReplyDeleteLol @small-tool... close :)
ReplyDelete@zoz, thanks but I got it the "easy" way. Just looked at the differences. They increases in a specific pattern.
Oh... NOW I see what that link was about. Thanks again @zoz! Good to have!
ReplyDeleteIs 23a about a special Swedish national day?
ReplyDeleteFor 22a, what i got from the hint is simple:
ReplyDelete[ (LAST + 3) (2) ] - PENULTIMATE
The hint it's confusing and, with that "-1" is also mathematically wrong. Lameness #2...
@s-t I've been trying to look that up too but it looks like for their Swedish national day they just use the Swedish flag.
ReplyDeleteI know about that flag and the day, but I can't make it work. Its sami.
ReplyDelete@ellie, look at clue 'ordinal number'
ReplyDeleteFor 23a, sami is correct. make sure to enter the complete month.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI must be spelling it wrong, because i have the national day of Sami people/ but it isn't working. you would think I, of all people, would know the Sami national day!
ReplyDeleteFinally on 24! I kept writing 06 and 6. Ordinal!!!
ReplyDelete23a. And of course, after the month, add the ordinal fomr of the number.
ReplyDelete@small-tool, check the level number. You are right.
ReplyDeletecheck the spelling s-t!
ReplyDelete@small-tool, and change that I to a Y.
ReplyDelete@small-tool English spelling for month
ReplyDeletehm, well s-t, other than missing the level number, february ends with a "Y"
ReplyDeleteThanks. of course.
ReplyDeleteFor 24 add "mountain" to the answer.
ReplyDeleteoh, jeez, on 23a i was writing either the numeral by itself or spelling out the ordinal number. Picky picky picky!
ReplyDelete24 is in Brazil. I'm stuck on 24a.
ReplyDeleteFor 24a, you need "whose" that place is... enter the portuguese name, forget about English this time... and remember, no special characters like ã
ReplyDeleteThanks @Edgar! I kept trying the english name.
ReplyDeleteIs 24a still in Brazil?
ReplyDeleteCathedral?
right s-t, Rio to be exact.
ReplyDeleteyes @small-tool, if you google cathedral and rio you should get pictures that leads you the right way.
ReplyDeleteFor 25, I googled "huge tree drive through" lol.
On 25a now.
so stuck on 25 - seem to have tried everything!
ReplyDeleteIs 24a a very long name?
ReplyDelete12 letters @small-tool (two words)
ReplyDeleteonly 2 words, s-t, but in Portuguese.
ReplyDelete@Alison, 25... If you google "huge tree drive through" and look at pics, you'll find it in the first page.
ReplyDeleteSecond row.
@ellie how many words for 25?
ReplyDeleteThanks, kept typing it wrong.
ReplyDeleteNm got it.
ReplyDeleteFor 25a, don't look for Heights but Volumes.
