I liked your hints for #1, but it doesn't work for me:
ni-shi = 2-4 = 8
ni-ku = 2-9 = 18
therefore ku-ni = 9-2 should = 18 (multiplication) but this isn't right neither is "1 8" (adding a space)
Don't understand the hint for #3. ("OK" doesn't work)
