  78. I don't know, mopface..never used the knife...read my post at 8:04

    ReplyDelete
  79. I did not use the knife either.

The SD is inside the box where you have to make a word (5 letters). It is an anagram of the word on the wall next to the old telephone. That word is spoiled below:

    RUBEN

    ReplyDelete
  80. One more crystal to be done I have used everything but the knife (I I read we dont need it). Trolling around trying to figure out what I missed.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I copied this from the other game....

    6 crystals:
    On the map
    Behind panel in room H
    Letter box in I
    Dial box in AC
    4 number box in AM
    Dial box in AI

    ReplyDelete
  82. I know the word clue is an anagram of BUREN but my brain just isn't working - anybody willing to help me

    ReplyDelete
  83. Thanks for the "Rehash" SD!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Thank you thank you tank you Zoe, room H it was. Great game!!!

    ReplyDelete
  85. sorry just seen the earlier post but I'd already tried that - tried it again - still said nothing happened - did something else (not on the computer) when I came back the box was open

    ReplyDelete
  86. Cleared the cache on both Explorer and Chrome and restarted Chrome. Nothing running (Facebook, live stream music) and still crashed barely 2 minutes into the game. Nothing more I can do but sit on the sidelines and wish I could play. I'll go to the unpopular sandbox now.

    ReplyDelete
  87. @maroon, it's not the browser cache. It's the Adobe Flash Player Cache on your computer.
On your computer, select Start > Run. (On Windows 7, click Start and type in Search Programs and Files .)

    Type %appdata%\Adobe and click OK.
    Delete the Flash Player folder.

Repeat step 1 and type %appdata%\Macromedia.
    Delete the Flash Player folder.

To open Adobe Flash Player Settings Manager:

Right click on any flash screen opened to a loaded game.

    From the drop-down menu select:
    Settings

UN-check the Enable Hardware Acceleration box.

Close the Settings Manager by clicking on the close button.

  88. As frustrating as it was, I think I liked the first round better. Thanks SD for redoing it, but I thought it was boring. Maybe because I already played it. Anyway thanks for all the games I love them!

    ReplyDelete
  89. I still have all my notes, and the codes haven't changed. After wandering around for 2 hours yesterday, I don't need no stinkin' map… oh wait, there's a gem on it. Fine. Mainly, I didn't want to go back through the penalty box room.

The changes made this a more traditional Asylum, for those who did not want the extra challenge of time (me). I suppose the flashlight could have been a lantern for purchase instead of the timepiece.

I hope everyone appreciates all the extra effort SD went through to make his adoring fans happy!

    ReplyDelete
  90. Just starting so not reading comments yet, but is it just me or does that teddy bear sound like he's farting in the opening segment? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  91. Been away and come back - I'm still stuck. I've got the turquoise gem thing out of the anagram box but can't do anymore.
Please can some one give me a helping hand

    ReplyDelete
  92. The ending was most gratifying!

    ReplyDelete
  93. Hey Self-Defiant - just got home from work so I haven't had a chance to play/re-play. But thank you so very much. IMHO - what sets you apart from all the other developers is that you care not only about your games but the players too. You're always there with us to explain, listen and, if needed, change up something in one of your games. Please know, how much we appreciate that... appreciate you.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Spent the entire afternoon working on this one, was determined to finish on my own but couldn't figure out the 4#. Not sure how we were supposed to figure out not to use zeros, but still a very good game!

    ReplyDelete
  95. SD went to your website, done all the instructions that you have posted here. Deleted the Flash player folder etc unticked box and it still crashed. I have tried IE and Chrome. I guess I'm just not meant to play your games. I have now restarted x7 times but have finally gave up. I know from doing a google search there is a lot of people with the same problems so I know it's not just me.Has the servers changed?
Anyway, I'm out unvoluntarily for now.

    ReplyDelete
  96. hector, if you could sign up to my forum and send me a message, I will work with you to see if we can find a solution. :)

  97. Some additional data on what's running in the background when going to Meltingmindz.com:

First, great game, and it's so much better without the bear. It's appreciated!

Fair disclosure: I'm a long time IT technician.

    Now, to the data:

The only way that I can play any game on this domain is to load AdBlock, FlashControl and Ghostery in Chrome. I use Chrome because it's the "leanest" browser in comparison to Internet Explorer, which gobbles up resources as a norm. Here's what these three plugins tell me:

First, the page loads 109 ads on the page. That's not a typo, 109 advertisements, not including the ad that loads when starting the game. Most of them are in Flash. The ad window in the upper right corner with the video ad is particularly bad, attempting to reload and refresh the ad in JWPlayer Ads Edition.

Second, Ghostery tells me that there are anywhere from 41 to 65 ad trackers, beacons, analytics, social media plugins and video players loading depending on what ads are being loaded and displayed, since some ad spaces rotate ads over time on the page.

The problem that I'm seeing is that if one has a computer that doesn't have a lot of RAM or a robust video card, all of these ads, trackers and plugins overwhelm the computer and not only the game, but the page crashes.

So, disabling hardware acceleration is not the best solution, the best solution is find a way around the flood of requests for processing that all of these ads and their plugins are demanding to be run.

  98. A couple bugs SD, just an FYI, not anything major:
I was able to purchase both the map and the transportation crystal with only 83 orbs (though the total should have been 100) by immediately clicking on the crystal and placing in my inventory.

Also, when I went back to purchase the pocket watch, as I picked it up it turned into a flashlight (which I already had), but when I placed it in my inventory, it was indeed a pocket watch after all. :)

Great game so far. Still working on banishing the bear. Scared the crap outta me first time! LOL Thank you for all the fantastic games!!

    ReplyDelete
  99. @Mucurial rust: I had 108 ads on the game page.

The most by far of any page I've ever loaded, which are usually 20 or less . . . . 108 definitely seems . . . wrong to me, as in there shouldn't be that many. Tsk, tsk.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Well obviously I don't have that many ads on the page. I think it's one ad provider I'm using that will be gone today. :) I had no idea that was going on. It's a shame, they are showing that many ads but I'm only seeing impressions for 1, The issue will be fixed today! Thanks everyone!!!

    ReplyDelete
  101. I removed the one ad provider and brought down the ads. Why you are seeing so many being blocked is because the video ad server is trying to connect, over and over because it's hitting the ad block. After it tries 100 times it gives up. There aren't actually that many ads loading. The other ad I removed was reloading, I didn't realize it. I also removed the ad at the bottom of the page so now it really should be faster and not use as much resources. :)

    ReplyDelete
  102. I will try the fixes here. SD, I am devoting so much time to getting this resolved not only on my home computer but also on my work computer (shhhhhh) because I love all your games, the animated ones and the live action ones. You create the most enjoyable games using the most beautiful backdrops and your sense of humour (shark suits indeed!) is always on point. It is my sincere hope that I can continue to enjoy your wonderful creativity.

  105. All of the problematic ads have been removed, I hope this helps. :)

    ReplyDelete
  106. completely confused by the 3 dials and the 4 dials color puzzles

3 dials i have solved and yet my solution is incorrect.

T = 15. so i counted back from T to each of the letters in NIL to get their corresponding number

then by color (since NIL and the dials aren't in the same color order) so BY COLOR i put each number in as it would appear on a clock.

    this did not open it.

the 4 dials color puzzle has no hints anywhere in the game.

so this is two major flaws with the game
