       Anonymous  10/22/08, 10:43 AM

after u download the info into the thumbdrive at the terminal, u go down to the room with the phone which only accepts incoming calls. there is a computer grid on the left side. i can go up the ladder to the terminal, and down the ladder to the computergrid/phone - nothing else.

Alright, I will catch up to you Jessica, back in a bit

how about answering the phone? "talk" to phone

       Anonymous  10/22/08, 10:47 AM

i already talked to john or whoever - he told me everyone was lying to me and yada yada... then asked me to get him some info - but i cant get anywhere.

hm...so your communication ended up that you will help him? at the end of the talk he tells you to follow the arrows...then you can walk away and you should have a yellow x on your map

How is it that you all can play the game when it has been removed from the site for relocation?

       Anonymous  10/22/08, 10:56 AM

seriously - im confuzed. there are no arrows - it wont even let me look at a map. says i need to get above ground first. when i put the thumbdrive into the terminal it says i already have the data. IM STUCK!!!

oh:-( i just played it again and after the talk with john i said i help him and then he shows me the way with blinking arrows.... can you answer the phone again??

       Anonymous  10/22/08, 11:00 AM

nope - it says its dead. i can only go up the ladder then back down.

jessi looks like you have to start again... @ seanchan:

@ Linda: just 2 little hints, dont waste time in the garage by clicking cars, look around. And later you need things you carry from the beginning .-)

       Anonymous  10/22/08, 11:09 AM

yeah i dont think so - i cant believe that. good luck to u guys - im done. thanks sue!

Ok, back to where I was...

anyone still playing?

shoot. I missed you again. Could someone tell me where to call John. I cannot find a phone or icm or anything. Walthrough? thanks.

sue,

that link still doesn't work.

sry sean works fine for me.

oakley...maybe its too early for a walkthrough? think ppl wait for the game and wanna try it alone. be more specific where u are. so i can maybe help.

hm - stupid question: i cant comment on other games from escapegames24.com...is it only me or do others have probs too. only can open this blog here??!!

I dont think its too early for a walkthru. I have been searching the comments to my questions and now stuck....went to the mainframe and played with that. Have lost my thumbdrive. Dont know where to go next. Picked up the syringe. Havnt found a phone.

This comment has been removed by the author.

Did you use the downloaded thumbdrive with the mainframe?

Yes I think so, but didnt get it back. I went to the mainframe and opened the data port and my thumb drive disappeared! (Thanks for coming over)

where are you stuck? Or where are you now?

Something Amiss
Chapter 3
Walkthrough

1. The Cell
Yell at the wooden door. A guard will appear in the window, then you will hear him leaving. Take the noodles, the chopsticks and the blanket, you will need them later. There is a graffiti on the wall on the right side of the screen. The last word of the quote is missing. You will find it elsewhere. Grab the blanket and slip it under the wooden door. Push the key out of the keyhole with the chopsticks. Pull the blanket back, you will get the key. Use the key to open the door.

2. The Corridor
You see three closed glass doors and a security camera. There is an ID card on the floor. Use the noodles to fog up the lenses of the camera. Take the ID card. It belongs to Auburn Sorro, Backscatter Lab Technician. Use the ID card to open the posterior glass door on the right side of the screen.

3. The Conference Room
There is a woman inside. She is Auburn Sorro. After some chit-chat she will give you a thumbdrive, and will ask you to collect data from the mainframe. She also gives you a map, showing two places: one of them is the Washington Monument where the Conference Room and the Holding Cell are, the other is the Jefferson Monument, where the Mainframe and The Ring take place. Leave the room, then go back; you will find a medical syringe on the table, a shot of Epinephrine for Auburn. She is allergic to peanuts.

4. Platform A
Continue your walk along the corridor. You will arrive to a place with a big sign on the wall and a metal door on the right side. Use the ID card to open the door.

5. The Station
You will see a red breaker box on the right. Open it and trip circuit. Then continue your walk down. You will see the other side of the station with a dataport panel. Plug in your thumbdrive, then turn back on circuit. Now the dataport has power, and the files are downloading to your thumbdrive. Meanwhile, the panel is protected by red laser beams. After the files are downloaded, trip the circuit again, and take your thumbdrive. Leave the station and go back to the corridor.

6. The Washington Monument – The Elevator
On the left side of the corridor there is an open door, this is the elevator that takes you to the Washington Monument. You will see a brick wall with a strange carving on it. Push the carving and the elevator leaves. Push again, and the elevator comes back. Walk to the right. The DC Map will open. Choose the Jefferson Monument.

7. The Jefferson Monument – Control Panel
You are among big columns, and there is a control panel on one of them. You have to type the correct password. Walk to the right.

8. The Jefferson Monument – Entrance
There is a carved sentence on the wall on the left side of the screen It is the same quote that was written on the wall of the holding cell. Now you know the last word of it: MIND. This is the password to the control panel. Go back and type the word in. You will hear a sound that some secret door opened. Go back to the entrance. You will see a ladder under the carved sentence. Go down.

9. The Vault Door
You see the vault door and a fingerprint reader next to it, a sign showing The Ring is to the right, a red emergency light and a fire detector. You cannot open the vault door with your own fingerprint. Walk to the left. You will see a crane and two possible ways to continue. There is a scrap of paper on the floor. Pick it up and read. There’s also a map on the wall showing you are standing in the Main Terminal. Leave the map and walk to the posterior way. You will find yourself in a storage with an armed guard. Walk back and head to The Ring. There is another guard in the Decon.

10. The Access Hatch
Walk back to the map, and continue your journey to the left. You will find yourself in an underwater tube with a closed door in front of you. Use the noodles again to loosen up the hatch with the grease.

11. The Hangar
There is a ditch in this room, blocking your way to the smoke bombs. Push the red button next to the door you entered. This will create a bridge over the ditch. Take some smoke bombs, and walk back to the vault door. Use the smoke bomb with the fire detector for alarm. First you have to pull the pin on the smoke bomb to start it.

12. The Decon
After you activated the fire alarm, the guard is no longer there. Walk into The Ring.

13. The Snowy Mountains
You find yourself in the middle of the snow, and you see mountains around you. Walk to the right. You find a shelter there, but the door is frozen shut. Take the snowball and use it to knock the lantern down. Take the lantern. Rub together the chopsticks and lit the lantern. Take it then to the door: the heat coming from it will melt the ice on the door, and you can enter.

14. The Polar Outpost
You see a touch screen in front of you, but it is not working. Walk to the left. Another screen appears. You see a disconnected cable and another scrap of paper. Take it and read. Then connect the cable. The touch sreen is now working and asks for a last name as a password. Go back to the connected cable, and walk along. Another sreen appears, and you find yourself in front of a snow pile, blocking your way. On the left side there is an ID card frozen into the wall. Look at it. The card belongs to John Franklin, DARPA Deputy Director. Walk back to the control panel and type FRANKLIN. You see a map in front of you. Choose the Environmental Controls. Turn it to HEAT. Then walk back to the snow pile, that is now gone. Take the ID card from the wall, and leave. You arrive back to The Ring with an open door on the right side. Don’t leave now, walk upwards instead. Another screen comes, and there is a piece of paper on the tube. Take it and read. Then walk around The Ring until you find the open door again. Leave The Ring.

15. The Mainframe
Walk back to the Decon from The Ring, and toss the stone in the middle of the corridor. You will find a key under it. Take the key, then walk back to the vault door. Walk past the door and the crane, and head to the Storage. The guard is not there. Walk along. Another screen appears, and you will see a bobcat with a rubber glove hanging from its bucket. Use the key with the bobcat, and lower the bucket. The rubber glove will fall to the floor. Take it. Walk then back to the vault door. Turn the glove inside out, and then use it with the fingerprint reader. The vault door will open, and you can walk into the Mainframe. You see a terminal in front of you. Use John Franklin’s ID card to activate the menu. Then choose Access Data. The dataport opens. Use your thumbdrive to download files. After this, a secret door opens in the floor. Go down.

16. The Telephone Call
You enter a room with a phone ringing. Answer the phone. It is John Franklin speaking. He is the good guy. He tells you that Auburn is working for Backscatter and wants you to steal DARPA’s files for her company. He also tells you some stange news about that ominose MRI scan. After the conversation, follow the arrows appearing on the floor. You will get back to The Ring. Go around to find the open door.

17. The Garage
Walk back to the Jefferson Monument. Use your map to get to the Backscatter HQ. You will find yourself in a garage among cars. Walk to the left, and you find a clicker on the floor. Take it, then walk back to the column with lights. Open the compartment and take the battery. Put the battery in the clicker. Point the clicker on the red sign on the wall. A secret door will open.

18. The Column Hall with Three Doors
The door on the left side is guarded by a cobra. There is the Backscatter symbol above the middle door. Walk in.

19. The Fountain
You will find a piece of paper there. Take it and read. Then walk back.

20. The Left Door
Use the blanket to trap the cobra. Now you can walk along. You will find yourself on an old corridor attached to the rock. There is a plaque on the right side of the screen. Read it. There’s also a loose board under the plaque. Take it. Then walk upwards. Another sreen appears where you find some old, rusty pipes. Remember this place, then go back.

21. The Right Door
Read the plaque on the wall. Use the board to make a bridge over the gap. Walk along. You will find a small door and a gargoyle. Take the gargoyle, then use the key removed from the keyhole of the wooden door in the first scene to open that small door.

22. The Red Tunnel
You find yourself in a red tunnel with a sign on the left side. Read it, then walk along.

23. The Mountain with the Indian
You hear nice music. Talk with the Indian. After the talk, a door will appear. But, at first, take a look on the breakerbox on the tree. After opening it, you will notice that the circuit is tripped, and cannot be turned back. Leave the Indian and walk back.

24. The Gargoyle’s Role
Walk back to the place where you have seen the old, rusty pipes. Use the gargoyle to break them. Walk bakc to the Indian, and turn the circuit back.

25. The Dataport
Walk back to the fountain. The water is not running, and you notice it is a dataport. Use your thumbdrive to copy the files.

26. Meeting John
Go back to the Jefferson Monument. John Franklin is waiting for you there. He asks a last favour. You have to catch Auburn. Give him the thumbdrive.

27. The Train
Walk back to the station, where you collected the first data files. Get on the train. You will find a ladder there. Take it, and use it for climbing up to the roof of the train. There is Auburn Sorro. Talk to her. She wants you to join Backscatter. (Along with the conversation the music gets wilder and wilder.) You say no. Then Auburn wants to fight. Remember her weakness. She is allergic to peanuts. And here come the noodles again. Toss the noodle bowl into Auburn’s face.

28. Meeting John again
You successfully defeated Auburn. She is arrested. Backscatter is destroyed. Good work.

well, there ya go, redroo.
