Biigal & All: the four colors are the colors for the seasons.. red= summer, etc. find the picture to the north and figure out what season it represents.. and start with that one!
Lucky you with the five buttons...only got three, anyway look at each picture and use your compass to find where to put them i.e. fish is sea and south?

what was the purpose of opening the cabinet with books, I found nothing.. Is there something hidden I haven't clicked?

What's the color code for the egg? and where's the spade?
North is the picture over the bookcase.. that's the first color match to the egg. goes on from there in seasonal order.

Little room with Bear head cutout and three door knockers. Pay attention to the three bear figurines with numbers on them on the desk before approaching the door knockers.
Ahhhhh, finally worked out the door knockers!!! And got into the little room....
I feel really stupid right now. Darn College Algebra........How do you work the knockers?
ok first timer so please forgive me,
On the side of the couch there is a clue about the animals in the drawer, its zebra, lion, cat, chic. That opens a drawer next to it, take all the items. (note the numbers on the bears. Use the key to open the book chest, follow the instructions on the keychain and take the book, and open it. Go to the door with the bear face and click the knobs in the order of the bears earlier. open the door take the stool, disk and hint card. the order for the egg is green, red, orange, white (also the number of clicks from the bears, that should open the egg and take all the items. Put the stool on the white circle, then click on the shelf and take the shovel. use the shovel in the dirt and take the remaining disk. there is a compas on the opposite side of the couch as the animal clue, use that to direct you on the order of the puzzle on the table. the hints lead you to the riddle. use the key on the door you saw when you took the stool. and your out .

I got all the buttons and I think I've arranged them correctly, but nothing happens when I press the OK button. I put the rice in the North slot, the fish in the South, the milk in East, the mushroom in West, and the sun in the center.

i don't understand why they would use english label the hint card but then only give the hints in japanese. drives me nuts. not to mention the fact that you have to give the answer in english. i'd rather play a game where everything was in a language i don't know then have teasers like taht.

Thanks Martin I did have a problem with the E and west.
Oops, my mistake. East and West on the compass are the wrong way around. If you turn left it is West and not what the compass says.

The door puzzle for those still struggling is, click on each knob the amount of times on each bear not the numerical order....

Martin, the compass points north just as a real compass would. If you are facing east, then north (the red needle) is to your left. HTH!

ok everyone, this is how i figured out the button thingies: so... the thing on the table has five slots, four on the outside, one on the inside. Early in the game, i picked up a compass. a compass has four main directions; north, south, east, west. Now, when you get the fish, rice, mushroom, and sun buttons, look at all FOUR pictures on the wall, and where they correspond to the little compass needle on the table AND in your item inventory, and place them accordingly one the board
ok found the walkthru above, but now I can't get riddle! how do you get the hints in english?!?!?
