Where did you find the cow? I used orange bottle on black thing next to food-with paint brush and painted missing eye. Think in the box below was tiger card or black key...

code is # of cookies of each shape, rearranged in the order the white paper says after you use the matches
card are for the door, bottle used right side of cakeplate, than colored the brush, stuck!!!

oh no.... i ended up somehow opening the japanese code chest by sheer dumb luck!!!!

i guess last card we will get from that green finger thing, but all in japanese, no chance for us

I think the Japanese code was 1 click for the first position, no clicks for the second position, 1 click for the third position, and 2 clicks for the fourth position ... but I am not 100% sure I was counting from the default position. :(
I made it again...and still don´t know how. 3rd try!!

Sorry, I give up for now. Got it another time but just can´t repeat result. I´m sure the sequence I chose included 3,3,4,1 but there´s more to it. Good luck...
for japanese code box, click first box twice, third box once, and fourth box twice

For the Japanese code, you look at the character 寅 on the wall behind where you enter the code. (The character is "yin" in Chinese, and it means first of the lunar calendar.)
The 上--下 direction on the code box means "top to bottom."
So you start at the top of the character and choose the symbol that looks the closest to 宀, which is the Japanese katakana ウ (u).
Going down from that, the next part of the character is a horizontal line: 一 (meaning "one")
As you continue to move down, then next chunk is: 由 (a "reason/cause")
And the final part of the character is 八 (meaning "eight")
So the code is: ウ一由八
Huh, so according to google translate, 寅 means tiger in Japanese. Not what it means in Chinese...
But it makes sense for the game.
2010 is year of the tiger! (Starting in February, technically though, because Chinese new year isn't until Feb. 14.)

secret ending walkthrough:
after opening the door, do NOT exit! instead, click the paper fan at the left side of the room to shake it, and you will see a green card behind it! take the green card, THEN exit, and you get the "happy end"!

the code about click twice. then none then once and then twice doesnt work for me. does anyoen think the real code may have to do with the H22 1/1 on the wall painting?

Actually "寅" does a Chinese character, it represents tiger in the 12 Chinese zodiac (the 3rd one), and also has a meaning of respect.
