yay more games!

Hi Tzechuk

Can't get the game started.

OK.. I got in and it's all dark...

Just click on the door, kvicki.

I did. It´s all dark for me too. Can´t find any hot spots

I restarted thinking we might have to collect something first before going in... nada.

may I join y'all?

Have you found out anything yet?

Hi Trisana :)

I think maybe the link is broken?

Hi Trisana, of course you may! You may even tell us how to play the game! LOL.

Hi
link is working fine, just click the church door

MegiPoland - Yes, but from there?

Hi Megi... we've done that.. then what?

Found another link that works.

http://nksuck.zombie.jp/dc/

the starting page is here.
http://nksuck.zombie.jp/dc/

put your name and press the "enter" to start the game.

this is the javascript game.

hmmm. . . how to get light. . .

ah, that helps. thanks, Xe and kvicki_vicki

You have to enter your name first. The posted link is not working, cause it bypasses the name-entering.

Is this one of those games where you have to change the URL to proceed?

Yeah, I thought so, Xenon. Thanks for confirming.

I have so far tried *let there be light* and *give me light* and just *light* etc.. nothing is working..

cool, got a code, used it, got a plate w/ a bunch of skulls. . . I think this is going to be fun. :)

No, this not the change the URL game.

Found a riddle that opens in a new link. Solved the riddle got a number code, that I justed at the grey square on the wall. Got skulls, but now they seem to have disappeared.

justed = used

OK, never mind... I tried the alternative link and got in..

That's really weird... have you noticed the ages (7 & 1) on the stone?

Anyone knows what to do with the grave inscription?

Anyone knows what to do with the grave inscriptions?

How to solve riddle 2?

that is odd, Tzechuk. Also, did y'all notice the weird capitalization on the zodiac wheel?

Maximize the inscription page, the skull board is there, place the board on the puzzle, u get 7 letters, now stuck

February is aquarius. Don't know what to make of it though.

Saima, go back to the zodiac wheel. Look at the names of the signs caRefully . . .

agh! Stupid slider puzzles!!!!!!!! >:{

Trisana, I am assuming that the names of the signs and the capitalisation has something to do with the letters we get from the inscription.. but how?

Thanx Trisana, got it, i noticed it before but it only clicked after u told me.

gUys, loOk baCk At mY obsErvation To tzecHuk at 07:17 . . . (oh, and I'm trying to give you a hint, I can type better than that)

But my scull board disappeared earlier, I get no 7 letters when I click the inscription. Only dates and names. Aaargh...

@ Vicki Maximize ur inscription window, the skull board will be there

Oooh... thanks Saima :D

Tzechuk, did you happen to zoom in on the 12 small stone squares around the bigger one? Did you notice what shows up when you click on those small squares?

Yes, Trisana... and I copied everything down. I noted the letters on the wheel, wrote those down... copied down the location of the signs.. I don't understand it.. lol.

oh, solution to riddle 3 is case sensitive. Good luck on the slider puzzle, guys! (when you get there)

Okay, how to not give it away. You should have a sequence of letters from the grave, right? After you used the skull plate? Do those perhaps match the capitalized letters? (The letters don't make a word, rather they're an order)

Yay ladder.

Hate slider puzzles. Any tricks?

ok... thanks, Trisana. The order is key. I wasn't sure.

I am stuck on riddle 2 i got skulls and they dissapeared and then i found stairs do i have to go back an use zodiac puzzle again confused from comments

kvicki-vicki, the corners and top DON'T MATTER. you just need to get the middle two rows right. At least, to get the code to the next riddle.

sleepypup, there's a grave you can zoom in on. make the window bigger, you'll see the skull plate then. (thanks to Saima for that one.)

Good morning everybody
still live
I guess I have a lot of catching up to do.

Got the code right, thanks Trisana :) In cave now.

I got the code.. am I supposed to unscramble it?

i got the code from the slider puzzle, but cant get in the cave

saima, there's a text box on the bottom right side of the pool/vase thingy.

Tzechuk, no unscrambling necessary, it's just backwards.

and if you guys can help me in the cave, I'm STUMPED!

Note code... sigh... not sure I'm up for this...

The code is not working on the cave

I don't think I got the code right, then...

Please help?

tzechuk, what do you have?

ngahtf uhluhtc

that's backwards.. so fthagn cthulhu?

Trisana, there are different sounds, whenever you turn right or left. At the bottom of some of the cave corridors, there is a spot, where you can enter that code. I think the code corresponds to keys on a piano. So the code will be a note code, where you use the sounds from the left/right turns to find the which notes goes in the code.
Follow me?

Tzechuk: Cthulhu Fthagn, remember case sensitive.

switch the words, Tzechuk. Cthulhu goes first (case sensitive).

vicki, maybe. but then what's the clue?

But notes are not my strong side, so I'm gonna have to wait for some one else to figure it out.

Thanks, Trisana - never thought about the case sensitive thing.. LOL. I should go back to bed.

I found where to put in the answer, but don't know what I am supposed to do....

vicki - I didn't hear any musical notes being played.

for the sound
see the page source and you'll find the musical scale:D

OK i heard it... needed to turn my speakers up... duh. I feel so stupid.

Trisana: This is just my guess. You follow a path that leads to a cave end with a code: Standing in front of the first two entrances, you turn l/r and you take notice of the first sound=note, which will be the first letter in the code and so on.

But I don't know which sounds corresponds to what note, not even with a scale in front of me, so I can't solve this one on my own.

i'm looking at the source, but i don't see a scale?

Does it only work in IE? No musical scale in firefox..

I'm gonna have to leave you guys now. I'm actually going to a funeral in a couple of hours (no kidding, my grandfathers).

No musical scale in EI either, Tzechuk.

My condolences, Vicki!! Hope you're OK!

i'm sorry, vicki. when we figure this out, we'll leave you a great hint. or the solution, if this is a by-ear thing.

Thank you guys so very much :)). I'm ok. He was 83 and died in his sleep. That's what I would have wanted for him, and he is in a better place now. :)

Hope you leave good hints, :D Good luck!

Well, i'm glad it was peaceful, vicki. Best wishes to you and your family, the death of a grandfather is hard. Take care.

I don't think the music is the point. I've tried everything it sounds like, and it's not working. besides, we have that clue:
Make each lines overlap one another
broken seal of a world shall appear

well I have to go, so I will leave you guys to figure it out. I am never very good with puzzles anyway - I am too literal. LOL.

Vicki - good to hear he lived a long life and died peacefully.

If you choose the correct paths you'll see the text box with a musical note.
Enter the musical scales in the order you heard them.

I finally figured out how to comment! I hope!

As for the musical notes thing, Xenon was on the right track but didn't give enough hints... when you click into a "cave" that has a note sound, right-click on the page, scroll down to "view source" and within the source is a line like this: ""

That little re.mid means the note was "re" on the do-re-mi scale.

However, after that I'm stumped because it appears we have to join the note sequences from both the right and left chambers... and I'm lost now!

oh! that's what the clue means! Okay, CrankyCatLady, lets see if we can get this done. I'm tired, and I really need to go to bed, it's 2 in the morning. But i'm not getting off until I solve this!

CCL, go back until you're at the clue box. then it's either RLRL or LRLR to get to a code box. :)

Anyone still here? The notes I logged (and this won't be a spoiler because I can't make them work) are as follows:

Left chamber, start: do-ra-so-mi

Right chamber, start: do-re-so-ri

Can't get either sequence to work in it's respective text box! Missing something...

okay, i've got 8 notes, but they aren't working. I'm out of ideas.

use c,d,e,... scale:)

Must be getting tired! Use wrong form of "its" which bugs the heck out of me!

Trisana, I know how to find the code boxes, I just don't know HOW to enter the notes! :-(

Xe, if you're still around, HELP!!!!!! Even with the notes, there isn't enough info for this riddle.

Hahaha, thanks Xenon! Of course!!! Back I go!

oh! But, what note is do? c?

Yes, "do" is C... CDEFGAB

right. but if we have ra and si, then do we use the # for a sharp?

i STILL don't get it. man, i must be tired. :(

I know I wrote mine down right. . . but I don't know. Man, this is evil. I've been working on it for . . . an hour and a half? something like that, just this cave. :(

Yep, you wrote down the same as I did! The "false" notes must mean something... as does the "overlap" in the clue. I tried dropping the false notes, then combining the true ones, and still no go.

(Xenon is laughing his/her ass off at us!)

well, ra and si are real solfege. well, I know si is, and I think ra is. but ra is . . . assuming a C major scale, ra would be d-flat.

Yeah, Xe knows exactly what's going on and is sitting there, inert, unreactive to our plight. Just like his chemical namesake. :P

Wow, you're way ahead of me! All I know is the basic 8-note scale. Even if we get the notes correct, then the question is, should there be spaces between them, dashes, all together, and caps or no caps? The mind boggles!

Xenon probably prefers "noble"! :-)

yeah, too many combinations. And I've been in choir for 8 years, spent 4 years in band, and 10 or so years on piano. I'd better know music by now. :)

Well, that too. But if he doesn't help us, two ladies in distress, he can't be much of a noble. :P (Joking, Xe, you've already helped loads, so thanks)

?
I replayed.
Only one of the two paths is the answer.(LRLR)
I don't know the reason.

Wow! I took one year of piano lessons, 33 years ago! Xenon, throw us a bone! A juicy bone! It's late in North America!

okay. Thanks Xe. :) Can I ask if what format the answer has to be in? are there dashes, capitalized, etc?

CCL, I love music. but yeah, it is REALLY late. I have to get up in 6 hours, and I haven't gone to sleep yet. But the puzzle, and the chance to meet a new puzzle solver, was worth it. :)

simply 4 letters in lower case:)

Thanks Trisana! I've been lurking on here for several years and finally had to log in so I could share tips and whines with everyone! Thanks Xenon, for the tips!

with C as do? that isn't working for me . . .

CCL, did you make it out yet?

No luck... tried CDGE, cdge... at a loss for ideas now!

yeah, me too. Xe, more help, for those of us who should have been in bed HOURS ago? Please?

@CrankyCatLady you posted
Left chamber, start: do-ra-so-mi

ra is "a" :)

Make_each_[L]ines_ove[R][L]ap_one_anothe[R].
Broken_sea[L]_of_a_wo[R][L]d_shall_appea[R].

THANK YOU THANK YOU Xenon!!! I have no idea why Ra is "A", but I won't question it! Did you catch that, Trisana?

OH! Thanks, Xe! Guess you really are as noble as your namesake :P

Anyone want to tell me why, when we had the clue we were running into Cthulhu, we STILL kept going? He's a kinda dangerous demon.

Yay! We're out.

To everyone who had to leave before you finished, check the source code, using a scale of DO RE ME FA SO LA TI = C D E F G A B, RA = A. :) Of course, because it's a Japanese game and they don't have an L, it's an R. DUH!!!!!!!

Wow, I know enough japanese that I should have caught that half an hour ago. Sorry, CCL, that I made you wait on Xe. :)

Funny thing Trisana, I actually thought of that too but figured it was too cheesy! :-)

What a disappointing ending for all the time spent! Well, sweet dreams!

okay, good luck to anyone trying this puzzle, there should be enough hints to get you through. Otherwise, I'll try to do a walkthrough in about 10 hours, if Zazie or KKF don't try it out, escape, and then beat me to it. :)

The mid sound file name in page source is not the clue.
We have to figure out the scale by hearing it, just in case.

btw the author's previous game is much much harder and the most evil.

Please, can someone tell me what to do with riddle # 2?
I've got the letters CELAENO from the skull riddle ....
I really don't know what to do with the grave stones ... anyone?

Hellow?
I need help?

This comment has been removed by the author.

Good Morning, I see I got in late on this one.

@ ZA - I'm at the same place as you. Trisana's clues aren't sinking in to my old brain either.
I've got the zodiac capitol letters - EORINU and the CELAENO from the skull clue.
I don't see the connection or the order.

Bumjelly, you're missing 6 letters. Like Leo, and I think Cancer . . . (first letter capitals count too!) And the order is the order from the grave. :)

Riddle #2 questions...
zodiac order - EORINU or UNIROE?
skull order - CELAENO or LACEENO?
One set has 6 letters and one has 7
Only letters in common are E,O and N
E,O and N = ? one, eon, neo?

Bumjelly, you should have 12 capital letters. A handful should match the gravestone, in the order CELAENO (I think, it's been a while). Then use the square of stones . . . (try looking at Aries, Leo and Cancer, I think.)

Trisana, I guess I need a slap up side the old melon, or at least to finish my coffee.
This is one that eludes me.
Order from the grave could be celaeno or laceeno.

Well, the order is CELAENO. And each zodiac sign from that puzzle in the first room has a capital letter. You've got gEmini, virgO, sagIttarius, and so on, but you're missing the ones that don't look out of place: Leo, Scorpio, Cancer, Taurus, Aries, Picies

Tax day, birthday and a puzzle that won't compute for me.
Time to beat a hasty retreat.
See ya later...

Awww, you can do it! Come back after you've had some coffee! And Happy Birthday (too bad it's tax day. :( )

Walkthrough:

Well, I suppose 1 should be entering your name. But that’s easy, so I won’t bother to tell you to do that.
1) Click on the table in the corner. Click again, and solve the puzzle (it’s easy). Get a number code.
2) Before you close the window, look closely. Each sign has one capital letter. Note that letter, and match it with the sign. (For instance, Leo is L) You now have 12 letters, each associated with one of the 12 western zodiac.
3) Go to the safe/lockbox thing in the original view. Input your number code, get skull plate.
4) Go down the stairs to the graveyard.
5) Click on the grave just behind the square of stones. You’ll get a new window. You see those scroll bars? Try widening your window. Hey! There’s that plate. Drag it over the inscription to get a sequence of letters (reading from L to R top to bottom): SPOILERSPOILERCELAENOSPOILERPOILER
6) Click on the square of stones. Each stone is a zodiac sign, the top left corner is gEmini, then it’s Taurus, then Aries then Pices (going from L to right on the top row). Keep going clockwise to match each zodiac t a square.
7) Remember that order or letters? You should be able to match them to the zodiac. (Solution below). Put that order in by clicking the pavement stones. Then click the middle square (if you input it wrong, it’ll just back you out. Zoom in and ONLY input the correct signs.
8) Go down the ladder. Click on the door, then the yellowish block on the wall. Do the slider puzzle, you only need the middle two rows in the right spot. You’ll get something written backwards, flip it. SPOILERSPOILERSCthulhu FthagnSPOILERSSPOILERS – it’s case sensitive. Put it in the white code box on the basin thing. Go down the stairs.
9) go forward. This is the hard part. If you have volume on, you should have just heard a sound. We have two ways to do this: One by ear, the other by source code, which is easier. Right click to the side of the graphic, then pull up the source code. You’ll see a file type: ./music/do.midi. That means you just heard DO. Then zoom on the gray slab, the second line gives you directions: LRLR. Go that way, pulling up the source code at each spot. You’ll get: SPOILERSPOILERDORASOMISPOILERSPOILER
10) you’re now at a code input box. Look at your solfege. Wait, Ra? That’s not standard. Oh! It’s a Japanese game! So it’s going to be La! Now this makes sense! Assume Do is C, then you can figure out the code! (You can Wikipedia solfege, you’ll get a good clue. It does spell a word.) Input this code (in lowercase). SPOILERSPOILERCAGESPOILERSPOILER
11) Go forward. Click on the hand, back up, and you’re done. Care to tell me why we just summoned Cthulhu?

SOLUTION TO ZODIAC LETTERS:
SPOILERS!

Cancer
Gemini
Leo
Aries
Gemini
Capricorn
Virgo

Going clockwise, with the top left corner (gemini) as 1, (the left, second from top is 12) it’s 12, 1, 11, 3, 1, 6, 10

cave answer- cage
(do=c ra=a sol=g mi=e)^^

well, I didn't do badly in this game until the music puzzle. I even got the hated slider puzzle. But then I completely fell apart -- I never would have figured out scales and source codes! Thanks so much for the walkthrough, @Trisana. And thanks to !Xenon, as always, for his help.

Welcome to @CrankyCatLady.

Belated Happy Birthday to @Bumjelly.

And condolences to @kvicki_vicki for the loss of your grandfather.

Display bug in step 5 of walkthru: when you click on the gravestone behind the square of stones, I needed to unzoom the new window with the grave inscription (ctrl+mouse wheel) in order to see the skull plate collected from the prior room. They are both in the same browser window. You can then drag the skull plate as indicated. There were no scroll bars for me. p.s. the game isn't worth it, anyway...
