Look at the colors of the stars, they are in an order: Pink, brown, yellow, green. Just follow the pattern.
clue I got from book year+1000 isn't working for me on the cupboard :-(. Any hint on what I'm doing wrong?
OH! TY @ George. I kept thinking the corresponding colour matches, but the brown was with orange AND red... so I was unsure what the heck it was... very tricky doing yellow on yellow/.

@Tarantino fan-- I dunno about you but I had been trying +100, not 1000 and that was my problem. I was thinking of it in terms of years, which was silly, really, because it SAID 1000 in the book. lol

How do you combine paper and purple window hint? paper gives me 2569, purple window hint gives me a headache!

Rings go beside door. you can go right in the main view.
small-tool turn left at cupboard (not zoomed in) to see door and spot for rings.
evans like I said, the top left part of the window is 1.
To combine it with the paper you have to tilt the window thing a bit so the 1 is on top. Then if you look at the paper you see the first number of the code is 2.

Zoom in on the bedspread. Take all the colored stars (there should be 8. Don’t forget the pillow one. Orange, blue, cyan, green, brown, pink, red, and yellow)
To back up, click the back button in the bottom right corner of the game screen
Zoom in on the Peanut’s bean bag chair in the bottom right corner
Get the power cord from the floor under the chair at the very bottom of the screen (a bit hard to see)
Zoom in on the rug on the floor
Click the right side and see the hidden lock.
Zoom in on the shelves over the desk
Note the strange purple symbols on the window
Still zoomed in, click the third book from the left
Read up on the games.
Note the + hint in the book
With the book still open in the about item view, click the bottom right corner of the edges of the pages to flip to the back

SOLUTION TO THE CLOCK-LIKE PUZZLE

The paper clue has symbols that look similar to clocks. However, they are not. While zoomed in on the shelves, you need to mentally combine the rings with the purple shapes on the window. The black branch going up the middle of the circle of purple shapes points at 1 (so 1 position is the upper left opening between the purples -- right of the traditional 12 o’clock position on a clock).
The first circle on the paper has the opening to the upper right. This is one space clockwise from the 1 position on the window. This number is 2. The next circle has the opening 2 spots down from the 2. This is position 4. Then comes 5 for the third circle (one spot clockwise of 4), and 7 for the last (2 clockwise of 5).

It happens way too often. I start playing a game and do quite well until the very end when I get stuck. Now because of the code with the purple circles... I should have thought of numbering from the top! LOL
