Hi people! Let's play!

Love Rotuc! Going in...

hi @mgkanda, starting now. :)

hi @mgkanda - should be a nice change from ex mortis

Star, fishing rod, coin and light bulb.

yes! live one!

star from clock and fishing rod from under left nightstand

flash drive in flowers

So far:
3 yellow star, fishing rod (used), key, bulb, usb-stick (used) and a lot of hints.

have got 3 stars, fishing rod, usb and lightbulb so far.

another small on books by bed

Green key from using light bulb.

got matches too now.

Put in all stars and got matches

lit candles, got key

Used stars to get matches - used to get pink key

Only have star from next to the clock and from book, where is the third one?

Used bulb to get green key

green key from using lightbulb above pc

lit candles - got pink key.

Nvm. third star was on the flowers next to the computer.

Used pink key and need to find clue for panda code

where's coin?

hmm...pandas

clue for panda code is on computer after using usb.

nvm got it

Ah - the slider puzzle - again!!!

Used pink and black (?) key (slider and panda-colour) to get 2 coins.

This comment has been removed by the author.

One coin from the panda's puzzle and one coin from the pig, angry etc. puzzle.

used the hint from book to get 3. coin

where do you use fishing rod?

Don't know the puzzle behind the black key door.?

Fishing rod is used in water in painting.

thanks @small-tool.

I've got one out of place or something on the slider. Taking me forever! I'm usually pretty quick at these.

got it!

Three coins and stuck.
What to do with the puzzle behind the black key door. Didn't see a hint for that!?

oh no, do I have to BF the chinese character code?

Just starting...

what's with the animal shapes in between the middle drawers?

3 coins, fishing rod (used), and matches (used)

Just joining... not that I am ever any help! Good Morning, Afternoon or Evening though

damn! my panda picture sure looks right ...

AHA! I think we need to find the characters for the animals for that code. Looking now. Would be nice if there was a codebreaker for that in-game but, shouldn't be hard.

One coin from the snake, rabbit.... signs

Have someone solved the number code yet????

my panda slider puzzle looks right, but obviously isnt, lol.

got it!

pop, found the fault!

@Stu Nope. 4 coins and stuck!

@Submachine I had the same issue. Mess with the ones in second row from bottom on left. There was one (I think either the 2nd or 3rd) that I had wrong. Hard to tell.

not sure even where the hint is for the number code? is it the picture with rainbow colors and the table?

@mgkanda, lol, my fault was in exactly the same place :)

How do you do the snake rabbit etc. Where is the hint?

i can't find any coins???

@Sub lol, thought so. :D

The frame with the colors are the same as in the vase you can look in right of bed. Should we be doing something there?

I think the number code is the picture (for the order) and the colors in the right vase next to the bed. But can't find it yet.

got coin for chinese symbols...look up the symbols for all the animals in the hint

anyone got the japanese/chinese (?) code or the number code?

small tool: the hint is in the middle (empty space) of the small cabinet with drawers. signs from the chinese zodiac (snake, rabbit, dog, pig, dragon, rat). google for the correct chinese symbols.

stuck on number code.

oh, thanks @graham :)

still looking for the first coin.. hint? haha

I figured that Liz, but I can't seem to find (google) a page where I can find the chinese characters!?

Nvm Wikipedia had the characters.

well finding symbols is easier since they're all horoscope signs.

so, the vase next to the bed has 12 slots, like a clock. i thought maybe Y=4, O=6 etc. but that doesn't work. what's one o'clock? or am i totally off track?

@small-tool when zoomed out of the drawers click on the gap in between the middle two for animal order then google the chinese character for them.

Also, trying to use color order in vase like a clock for # code but, it's not working out.

This comment has been removed by the author.

sorry, I guess you got it @small

@Liz I've been working on the same thing. Not working...YET! lol

Four coins now and I guess we have to do the number code for the fifth.
572496 didn't work (color order from the picture and looking at the vase colors as a clock).

got it!

SPOILER462385SPOILER

hey all.
I'm stuck with the color/clock(?) code as well.
Tried to compbine it with the picture colour order (came up with this: 572496) but I was wrong :(

That is what I had too small-tool and I changed them all by 1 each to all combos - still didn't work

another slider! ahhh!

For the chinese sign click first 2 times, second 4 times, third 3 times, fourth 1 time, fifth 0 times, sixth 5 times.

Oh no another puzzle, luckily it aren't real sliders.

I am far behind you, i just solved the panda puzzle and have only 2 coins. From cp and puzzle.

Where to use fishing ord ?

That last slider was a doozy!

odd, @smalltool, I was using similar reasoning for colours and tried 461385, but that didn't work either.

OUT! Thanks everybody!!!

POP found the place on picture..

You guys check my comment at 18:28

argh just saw the spoiler - but the green is on 1 by that reasoning!! Oh well.

chinese zodiac signs
http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/4606/znakizodiakuch.jpg

I didnt get a slider from last key, only a empty area?

OUT!

yay! out!

dayamayii,
I had 461385 too as my second option. I don't understand why the third one is a 2 instead of a 1, but anyway I'm out too.

@dayamayii I know! It took me forever b/c of that! I knew we had to be right in our reasoning though.

I think it was just an error in the game. I had the same as you all 461385 and I just started changing one at a time til it worked.

I've forgotten how to get to the coin slot thingy! Help?

dayamayii,
wasn't that one of the screens (the first one?) going down.

damn those sliders :p
leaves? it had to be leaves???
out, btw..

It was indeed, small-tool. I was clicking madly looking for an in-screen link. Thanks!

that last slider was just mean, lol!

could someone give me a hint on how to solve the pandas with the expressions that change? Haven't seen that one in the comments yet!

Pop.. from the book

I am out too,
thank you mgkanda for numbers...the rest i solved all alone (which is very rare)

@enjoy, the hint for that is in a book in the first scene (the one to the far right). I think it is on a small table next to the straw-chair?

Thanks a lot mgkanda for number code!!!!!

Ok.. I have to throw in the towel.. my eyes are too old for that last grass slider!

THANK YOU STUUUUUU ! I'v been here having a tough time with the zodiac thing till my hero Stu saved me. Stuck on last coin on the right....what am I missing?

Ah yes, the pandas...and the book must give the clue...thanks all :)

Sorry guys, the bug has been fixed. I hope you enjoy our new strategy that we are are putting all the power into real escape games:)

Rotuc Team.

Thanks Rotuc Team for fixing the bug.
But you see, even with a bug we can solve games.
And thanks of course for giving us so many games.

@Ro, i appreciate this very very much and your games are great.... I like them much more than only pixelhunting, which causes eye cancer to me lol.

Oh yes, forgot to say; Yes we do (at least I do) really enjoy the new strategy (making real escapers instead of hidden things) and they're great, with good challenging, but logic, codes.
So thanks again and keep up the good work.

@Ro Thank you for the great games! Always excited when a new one posts.

I never found where to use the green key...anyone?

nokra,
I don't remember but it must have been on the most left screen. Try all the drawers and cupboard doors. And don't forget you have to click on the handles with your key.

I came in late and am having trouble deciphering the comments...LOL I have everything else solved...anyone still here? Where to use green key, please

Did that already but I will try again...maybe I missed one. TY @small-tool

@nokra, just drag the key over all closed doors and when it was the right door (or drawer) the key disappears.

pop...it was the bottom under the right gold door...I must have clicked the one above twice!!

       Anonymous  9/8/10, 10:27 AM

I really enjoyed that. I managed to do most of it without any help.

I don't see where that last number code comes from.

nokra, use keys on drawers and cupboard/closet.

I can't remember which one goes where, but you'll hear a click if the key works.

Yippee! she finally gets the panda puzzle right!

@cricketer The last # code came from the picture frame with the colored line order and then looking in the vase on right nightstand by bed like a clock. There was a minor glitch with the green being in position one and the code wanting a two but, it's fixed now. :)

Thanks @zazie....and out! Great game!@Ro...Thanks!

@annaby lol. Yay! I took forever on that one. There was a really tricky spot near the bottom left that I finally got right. The last slider is really hard.

@mgkanda - i see from glancing at the comments that some tough ones are coming up. I'll come back to this later today. Not ready for another picture puzzle.

       Anonymous  9/8/10, 10:58 AM

mgkanda, thank you. I was making it too complicated, thinking was to do with counting the brown sticks between colours.

For Chinese/Japanese symbols, this is a useful site:

http://www.saiga-jp.com/cgi-bin/dic.cgi?f=0&start=1

I think they fixed the problem with last number code... no longer 462385////

SPOILER461385SPOILER

the leaves puzzle actuall took me less time than the pandas
Thanks @cricketer9999 for the link.

WALKTHROUGH
(solutions at the bottom)

BED & BIG PLANT
- Zoom in on the open book next to the plant and see HINT 1, the text.
- Zoom in on the red flowers on the right bookshelfs and take the USB STICK (in the soil).
- Zoom in on the top shelf of the left bookshelfs and take STAR 1 from the cover of the blue book.
- Zoom in on the bottom shelf of those bookshelfs and see HINT 2a, the colors on the picture.
- Zoom in on the right vase next to the bed and see HINT 2b, the colors in the vase.
- Zoom in under the left little table next to the bed and take the FISHING ROD.
- Zoom in on the clock above the windows and take STAR 2 (top right above the clock.
- Go left.

COMPUTER & BIG PAINTING
- Zoom in on the big painting above the pc and use the fishing rod on the water and take the BLACK KEY (in front of the left lady).
- Zoom in on the flowers on the left and take STAR 3 from the bottom left flower.
- Zoom in on the basket (on top of the curved shelfs) and take the LIGHT BULB.
- Zoom in on the lamp above the big painting and put the light bulb in and take the GREEN KEY.
- Zoom in on the keyboard and put the usb-stick on the bottom of the white pc tower on the left and see HINT 3 on the monitor.
- Go left.

BAMBOO CUPBOARDS & DRAWERS
- Zoom in on the open hole in the middle of the drawers and see HINT 4.
- Zoom in on the drawers (somewhere else than the open hole) and open the bottom left drawer and use hint 1 to solve the code and take COIN 1.
- Zoom in on the cupboards on the left. Open the big yellow left one and put the stars in and take the MATCHES. Open the little second one from the right and see you need a number code. Use hints 2a and 2b to open it and take the RED KEY. Use the black key to open the top drawer under the left big yellow cupboard door and use hint 4 (with some googling) to open it and take COIN 2. Use the green key to open the bottom drawer under the right big yellow cupboard door and use hint 3 to open it and take COIN 3.
- Zoom in on the 6 drawers again and use the red key to open the middle right one. Do the puzzle and take COIN 4.
- Go right.

COMPUTER & BIG PAINTING
- Zoom in on the candles (on the curved shelfs) and light them all 3 with the matches and take the PINK KEY.
- Go left

BAMBOO CUPBOARDS & DRAWERS
- Zoom in on the 6 drawers and use the pink key to open the top left drawer. Do the puzzle and take COIN 5.
- Go right (2x)

BED & BIG PLANT
- Go down and put all 5 coins in and you're out.

SOLUTIONS

HINT 1
- The text says PIG- ANGRY-LOVE-SERIOUS-HAPPY, so make the little panda's look that way in that order.

HINT 2 (a+b)
- The colors on the picture are in this order; YELLOW-ORANGE-GREEN-RED-BLUE-PURPLE
- In the vase you see the same colors but in clock shape. There are 4 grey ones on the top and top left. The 4th (from the left is 12 o'clock) so Green is 1 (o'clock), Red is 3, Yellow is 4, Purple is 5, Orange is 6 and blue is 8.
- Combine this with the order from the picture and the code is 461385.

HINT 3
- The colors on the pc are the colors of the hands and the feet of the panda's so change them till they are right.
- E=Grey the other colors are the first letters and X=space to make it clear;
RRxxOOxxEExxYYxxWWxxBBxxGGxxYYxxGGxxWW
OOxxGGxWWxxRRxWWxxWWxBBxxEExxYYxxRR

HINT 4
- The order you see is SNAKE-RABBIT-DOG-PIG-DRAGON-RAT
- If you google the chinese astrology you can find the characters but here is a picture;

CHARACTERS

Here is a picture for the panda puzzle;

PANDA'S

Here is a picture for the bamboo leafs puzzle;

BAMBOO LEAFS

Nice job @small-tool. Wish I had had that panda picture a few hours ago, lol.

annaby,
Sorry, but I had to play the Brick Room Escape first and had some things to do in real life as well (like cooking, eating and doing dishes). And it took some time because I wanted it to do good with bold and pictures. And that takes a lot of time because I can't type as fast as kitkatfox (where is she anyway?) and can't make pictures as fast as Edgar and Ellie.
But didn't it feel much better to solve the picture on your own.
And, more important, I like to think that walkthroughs are not for the regular EG24 players (they play them live) but for the lurkers that come later and don't wanna post but do appreciate walkthrouhgs because in that way they can solve the game over and over again so they remember how it's done and then one day, while heavily drinking with some mates, they can show how smart they are by solving the game in notime.
I love those lads and like to give them a hand with writing a walkthrough once in a while.

lol @small-tool - I knew there would be a WT sooner or later (and probably by you) but I thought I would keep trying in the meantime. Yes - it certainly did feel good to solve it!
Here's to the lurkers!
And yes, where IS kkf?

       Anonymous  9/8/10, 1:32 PM

Thanks Rotuc for a escape that was not a total pixel hunt! and thanks s-t for the nice WT. I needed it for the symbols.

LOL @ small-tool :) You made a great WT !!!
I am leaving for 10 days tomorrow and will not be here that often (but some days yes) and then it is always good to have a WT if you are back and stuck...and as i am always stuck....thx again to all the cool WTs writers here !

Great game! Thanks @Ro! I like the new kind of games you make. The more codes the better :) I found the codes in this game nice and not too hard, with enough in-game clues. And... I like the picture puzzles :) Although, probably more when not playing live lol.

I didn't have the chance to play this game when it was live and I just did. I had a terrible time solving the colors/numbers code. The code I figured out didn't work but UNTIL I opened the game in a different browser and now that I've come to the comments I can see why. I loaded the game earlier today but didn't play it due to other obligations to make, so I had opened a buggy version of it... and opening the game again in the same browser (FF) won't make the problem disappear. Cache issues maybe? I really don't know, much less how to solve them.

@small-tool, thanks for such a great WT, especially because after this, I wouldn't feel like doing one for this game. And another thing, I really really hope you are joking and that the things you say in your lasts posts are not what you really think of the hundreds of Walkthrough users out of those thousands who visit the site every day, calling them something less like drinking show-offs lurkers. If that is your opinion, I'd like to see here posted an apology to them as a sign of respect; if it isn't, then an explanation might be also necessary.

As for me, let it be clear that I definitively NOT share that opinion. My walkthrough are written for the pleasure they give to me; and secondly (if possible) to help to whoever might need them, regular players or not... to any user.

Edgar - thanks for saying that. I'm one of the hundred escapers who don't post nor play live during my days and neither have enough smartness to escape the games by myself and often use the walkthroughs you kind people take the time and effort to post. I think I felt a little offended myself, but I wasn't sure of saying it out. That's all.

There are so many different reasons to write a WT. I do it when I want to understand a game better or when I played a game i really enjoyed. I also write for games i didn't like but when there is a need for a WT (people still asking for help)and when there is a really easy game that don't need a WT but should have one because of EGDAW (Every Game Deserves A WT).
And... knowing myself I get stuck in the easiest games, where the comments say nothing but "wow, that was fast"... We all get stuck at some points (several times a day). I don't read WT's a lot since I prefer reading the comments one at a time when stuck, but we like it in different ways. If someone wants to play a game while reading the WT from beginning to end that's not for anyone else to judge.
I decide to take your post as a joke @small-tool, but I don't find it very funny.
Anyway, your WT is great and it's great that you write plenty of them, helping so many people.

I also missed this game live, but I really liked it all the same. And I got the clock/colors/numbers code all by my tiny-brained self!
I finally consulted @small-tools excellent walkthrough for the symbols and for the panda emotions puzzle. That had to have been a tough walkthrough to write!
As for the comment about lurkers, etc, I didn't think it was meant in a mean way, mainly because of the last sentence I suppose. That's the problem with the written word; it's so easy to miss the nuances and misinterpret.

Anyway, Great Game!!!

       Anonymous  9/9/10, 1:44 AM

I'm sure that Small-tool was having a laugh - we all know that everyone would LOVE to always play live games, but sadly sometimes work gets in the way! (OK, I know, I need to sort my priorities ... LOL)
I for one am always very grateful for walkthroughs. When there is a decent live game famine, as does sometimes happen, I just go back in time and play old games from the archive - it goes back to 2006 - and there is nothing more maddening than having to finally abandon a fascinating game right near the end, for lack of a walkthrough, when there's no-one about to ask. So big thanks to all you brave walk-through writers here - who make EG24 very much the BEST games site around.

       Anonymous  9/9/10, 1:47 AM

And I forgot to say.. that was a terrific walk-through, @small-tool, and I am memorising it for next time I want to impress my drunken friends :o)

What a fuzz about nothing.
Thanks annaby, Zazie, and MaryD for understanding the joke.
Thanks zoz for the wise words about the written word.
And if I really thought about walkthrough readers/players like that, why would I even bother to write a walkthrough in the first place. I don't know about others but it takes me a lot of time, so it might be clear I do it to help others and not to belittle them.

@small-tool, I wouldn't say it was about nothing since people could get offended, but I agree with zoz about the written word being too easy to misinterpret. Also, when writing my comment I was tired and in a bad mood, and I shouldn't have posted until I had a good night of sleep (if still feeling there was something to post about).
Again, thank you for the time you put on helping people and writing WT's! See you in another game (me being in a better mood).
