Hello Shuchun
This seems to be hard, language barrier ?
All i have is a ribbon with some text and there are two books i cannot read.
Morning all !
this seems to be very difficult with a translator
Yes zazie: why julius caesar in english and the books in ....? chinese or japanese
morning Zazie and everybody else
there are a few bits in our language but dont think it is enough for "encrypting"
the reference to caesar is probably the caesar-cypher code we need to use
Yep it is SwissMiss and then the text on the ribbon says;
The password is rome.
Have pink ribbon and stuck
uppercase letters of course.
Good morning everybody!
Don't know what to do with the key. It goes in the door, but how?
I got the text translated with caesar cypher but I cannot get out
it is "the pass-word is rome"
Horum omnium fortissimi sunt Belgae, dixit Caesar.
The belgiums are the most brave people
capital letters of course
LOL Tosca ...
Have key too but not sure what else we need
there are roman numerals on the key
15234 ?
lol SwissMiss, almost exactly the same two posts I posted.
Look at the left book. the word DOG is 41 53 22 (on the page right of the grid), these are the coordinates of the grid to the left.
Maybe we have to transform another word from the ribbon like this and multiplicate, because there is a x between the numbers.
I tried some but still nothing.
so key says 1/5/2/3/4 in roman numerals hmmmm
Where is key ?
there is also a 100 and a 44 in the second book
zazie - you have to give in the pw next to door
see above comments for solution
But if we find a code out of these numbers where should they go?
that Password-box openes up on top with "ROME"
but there is also a handle below - perhaps there is another drawer openes up with another PW??
It also says DOG IS RUNNING ....
You can close the box again!
Thanks SM have key now....
We can reuse the codebox
there are another string of letters and translated they meen
dog is running???
Now to solve the second code for the box... hmmm
Read skytale in wiki
I was able to close up on the handle of the key.... I think we have to wrap the ribbon on it... but how?
Hey all...I can't put anything in the codebox, I have the same problem in the Cat-Christmas-party game. This is very weird, it doesn't work in FF or IE...
Aha ... Got the new code
SPOILERAHVZLSPOILER
Patty - what did you encrypt?
and this code does not work
good morning, am i late?
@george - thats strange
but also on the bottom of my page on EG24 the scroll-bar flashes most of the time
wonder if something is wrong with the server
Put ribbon around key
Hmmm doesn´t work here either...
Sorry ... that is the new code that needs to be translated by the cipher ...
but thats OZY on the left and AHVZL on the right
but that has to be decrypted somehow??
did you do that Tosca
Thanks Tosca.
But there is no Z in the grid ???
Tried everything and still nada... Tosca did you solve it?
Tried a lot too with combining the roman numerals as order for the letters but nothing.
I also tried to change letters like on the key : 15234, but nope.
Tried also to transform letters in numbers like on the grid but there is missing the Z.
I found this decrypting page and gave in the AHVZL but in the roman numeral order from the key, i.e.
ALHVZ which gave me "end 1" ???? doesn't work on box
If I follow the explanation of wiki about skytale, it should give me something like AZYLO. But no go.
I dont know - I think I need the wizz-kids to solve this one
Have to go, good luck all.
Does anybody have snow falling down on EG24?
Or is my screen not working????
Feminin - it seems lots of people have some problem or other
I have a scroll-bar at the bottom which pops up and flashes??
perhaps we have to contact Yalcin
nice weekend S-T
I will take a shower and come back after....maybe this helps lol.
Sorry but i am stupid at this. Can anybody explain how to decipher the ribbon with the Julius Caesar code?
SwissMiss you can click the toolbar away.
I still think it's snow falling down, because i don't have it on other sites.
I see the EG24 changed the site in Christmas spirit.
Feminin I cant click it away - it just flashes on and off a lot of the times
Horst K.
the text is in Caesar cypher - there are decypher tools on the internet where you can put in the code and have it translated
(a very good homepage for those things is www.purplehell.com )
I cannot get that scytale cypher - shall leave and wait for the brilliant ones to find the solution
In the book
41-53-22 stands for DOG.
I think we should decode the letters to cyphers.
@SwissMiss Many Thanks!! Will search for that
Damn, there is no Z in the tabel.
Was just away for a while, but thanks anyway SwissMiss.
Tosca, if you follow the system Z would 61, but what after we have numbers?
Oh I give up!!
Hello, put the letters in the order indicated by the roman numerals, then translate it with the caesar cypher. ;)
That would be ALHVZ right?? That does not work either. ARGH!
Thanks jumalansa,
but I have AHVZL and with roman numerals it becomes ALHVZ and if I decode it I don't get an English word!?
Nope. Translate it like the pink ribbon for the first password.
SPOILTOSEAER
Then you get a paper and I'm stuck too. :)
I tried lots of possibilities on a caesar decoder site, but nothing works
OMG THX jumalansa !!!
Genious !!!
And now another code, i have to leave soon !
Don't get it
That comes from AVZLH, how do you get that order from the roman numerals?
By the way there's a backside on that paper.
Roman numerals : 1 5 2 3 4
Letters : A H V Z L
A is first, H is fifth, etc...
Ah thanks jumalansa, of course, there are always two methods to use such a hint.
I had to adblock the js file to stop the snow otherwise it would crash my PC.
Where do the letters ALHVZ come from?
Cricketer9999a,
From putting the ribbon on the key.
Oh, I see, thanks small tool. I couldn't get that to work first time.
It works now though.:-D
I'm assuming we have to use the paper to decode a word for a new password and that will give us a key that works in the door.
So just to find the word.
I think this game would have been a lot easier if we could read the explanation in the red books. I wish the makers would make the text copyable so it could be pasted into a translator.
I don't just mean with this game, I mean all games that aren't in English.
I don't expect games to be in English. I think that would be unreasonable. I also realise there are many here playing/posting in English as a second language.
Just a little more help to be able to work out what is being said would be nice.
I think this is possible as on some games you can copy the text from the comments.
Where do you enter the new password SPOTOSEALER ?
Pascale, click on the handle at the top of the opened safe/code box. This closes it again. Then you can enter the new password and it opens again to get a new paper.
BTW, I think that there is a Polybe square in one of the books (I don't know how you call Polybe in English, sorry).
Thanks a lot, Cricketer9999a ! And thanks to jumalansa, I would never had known which word to choose among 25 possibilities of Caesar's cypher.
No problem Pascale. This game has me stumped. I wouldn't have got anywhere without the help here.
Has anyone found the word to translate?
Bottom red book has 100 44 and July in it. That could just be reference to Julius?
AEMORST could be an anagramm of MAESTRO, but I'm not sure it is helpful.
So far I haven't used the square in the book. So I think combine that with the paper somehow.
I don't know. Did you see the back of the sheet ? It doesn't help much, anyway (I suppose it should...).
Well, Pascale, you're right, it could be a cypher method inspired by Polybius. Like the ADFGVX method, in which you have a key that has to be placed back in order to have the right order of the columns (but here, maybe we have to do that both with rows and columns), then translate it back.
But I have tried with maestro and it doesn't seem to work or I do it wrong.
I've flipped the paper to the back side and I get stuck with something Like This:
F
I
R
SECOND
T
Jumalansa, I'm stumped, too. I'm not sure that Polybius is involved here.
All what I have noticed, it is that there is the same "pace" (?) between letters of the same row.
For instance G and K (on the first line) have the same space between them as A and E (of AEMORST). Sorry for my English, I don't know how to explain it correctly.
No, my explanation is not correct, just ignore it.
Yeah, and AEMORST has all the letters from the first and second passwords.
Try this :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ADFGVX_cipher
I know the ADFGVX cipher, but I don't understand how to use it here...
I've tried to follow the instruction "First verticle, second horizontal" or either look for the word "first" and :second in the paper... but still no luck =[
FIST CODE (ROME)
SECOND CODE (TOSEA)
Rome used vertically
Tose use horizontally
looks on paper, vertically from bottom to top, it reads ROME
and horizontally up, looking TOSEA
there you go joining R, T = O
O,O= ?...S
gives a Spanish word that means: give a slap
jejeee (in Spain)
and did not get, because I can not put spoiler, and do not know who does not like to say without spoilers solutions
Hi,Tosca
just came home and nice game to play or decode.
said to be the n.3 Ending ......... is there more?
Brilliant, Sisli !
Ostia was Rome's port.
I got "end n°2", how did you get end n°3, Sisli ?
I don't get it?
where did the A from OSTIA camo from.
And it doesn't work as code word?
By the way Congrats on the breakthrough Sisli.
But I still haven't found it yet.
NVM. It did go in the code panel but I was expecting it to open, but the door opens.
But still, the A.
Do you have the A because ROME doens't have a fifth letter so you use the A from TOSEA ?
R,T=O
O,O=S
M,S=T
E,E=I
_,A=A
_ is space
@Pascale:
I do not know how I got the final 3, it is what he said when he finished the game
as you say you got the number 2, I started playing and got the final No. 1
just got things differently, first the book, then the book, the book is ultimately the only thing I notice different because other codes do not work
I got ending No. 0?
Was the Polybius a red herring?
Thanks Sisli, that's what I thought no fifth letter for Romee so the A is just the A.
By the way, had ending 2 too.
Thanks from me too Sisli.
Thanks to everyone for help earlier.
I really have a typo day today. I meant 'Rome' of course and not 'Romee'.
I wonder if I got end No. 0 because I had the game open so long? I left it open while busy doing other things, so it was open 4 hours.
It's kinda funny that even the ending credits are in Chinese/Japanese, but the word "NEXT" is in English.
Cricketer9999a said : "Was the Polybius a red herring?"
Yes, I think so.
small-tool said : "But still, the A.
Do you have the A because ROME doens't have a fifth letter so you use the A from TOSEA ?"
Don't ask, it was just a guess (o: When I saw OSTI... I just ended the word. I was lucky that it was not a random bunch of letters...
