Looking out of the window, santa claus comes by in his slee and drops something. Don´t know what or where
I have a stick and a red thing.
They were screw driver parts, combine them.
The upper part of the screwdriver is on the window, i think thats what the santa dropped.

the two "?" objects combine to make a screwdriver...which you use on plate in fireplace

I am clicking that silly door over and over...and the grid keeps popping up. I've put in the stocking colors. Are the colors reversed??
mrtelcom, you get gift after using sd in fireplace. Click towards the top of the FP opening to find where to use it, then the gift will be on the floor, use scissors and the "gift for you" will be a sort of coin. :)

@amanda you are looking at the white grid from the cupboard? To get there you have to click on the bookcase and then the cupboards. Do not click on the brown grid as that is where the plates go when you have them all!

I clicked all tiles in the grid one time green and then the right pattern - then it works
If I could have found that danged view for screwdriver faster, It would have been better. Also, could not zoom the game bigger. I hate small games.
@Franka, maybe it helps first zoom in at the stockings again and than the grid once more
The only way to open cabinet with grid squares is the upper left after putting in the code.
Aha! Restarting took care of the quirky bug...and now I can get the 3X3 stocking code cabinet open!
I had to click the red part, NOT outside to close the grid then opened the door.

No matter what I did, I could NOT get that 3x3 grid cabinet open.
Restarted the game and it opened without any problem.
Weird bug? I had no problems whatsoever.

So I guess the thunk I heard from Santa was the clue to look for the present in the firelplace... I assume it was the screwdriver piece incorrectly.
This one was pretty easy, actually, so I'm sure you're right. If a plate wasn't out in the open it was behind a code. Simple enough, lol. :D

mrtelcom, I thought it was the sd too, or maybe both b/c the sd piece isn't there when you first see Santa, only when you back out and zoom back in. Who knows...

This walkthrough is arranged by scenes. Enjoy!
RED SOFA SCENE:
*get plate between green pillows (1 of 9)
*get plate in bag next to lamp (2 of 9)
*click on skylight, Santa flies by and drops something unseen. Leave scene and come back and you will get a silver stick from far left window (part of a screwdriver)
*click plant, pick up plate next to sofa (3 of 9)
*use the magnifying glass (you get in other scene) to read the words on the Christmas card. These letters will help you open the second drawer in the bookshelf scene.
GREEN DOOR SCENE:
*zoom into table, pick up plate (4 of 9)
*get scissors from table
*you need a clue to open the box (after you get lighter you will find the code)
*open the box using clue, and get plate (8 of 9)
*you need a GOLD KEY to leave through the green door!
BOOKSHELF SCENE:
*zoom in on tree, pick up plate (5 of 9)
*zoom in on bookshelf. notice the order of the decorations on bookshelf (volcano, bird, sailboat, and globe). Then, click on top drawer to the right. Use clues to open the drawer. Get plate (6 of 9)
*large door on shelf needs a clue from fireplace scene.
*large green 9 squares wall decoration is for the plates, once you find them all.
*second drawer needs a clue from red sofa scene
*once you get the clue for the second drawer, you need to rearrange the letters to form a word that is related to winter. This word will open the drawer, and you will get plate 9 of 9!
*arrange the 9 plates on the wall decoration (hint: blue ball ornament is in the lower left corner). Once in order, you will get GOLD KEY.
FIREPLACE SCENE:
*zoom in on stockings. Use the clue (stripes of stockings) to unlock the bookshelf door, you will get plate (7 of 9)
*leave the scene and come back, you will find a strange red object in third stocking
*take red object and click on silver stick to make screwdriver.
*zoom in on fireplace, click around until you find a black door screwed shut.
*open black door with screwdriver, get a present. use scissors to open. get magnifying glass, gift for you (a coin), and lighter.
*use lighter to light a fire. You will get a clue that you can use to open the green box in the green door scene.
