Use shaper on cage for knife. Have a stick to fish with i think,

give banana to monkey for rope.

I am not making much progress. Only found wire behind barrel that had the monkey on it

use knife on skull for spyglass... off to window to look.

wire right of barrel with monkey sitting on it

got key from 2nd code.

got 2nd rope, presume we need two more.

found a stick in the net above the hangman puzzle

combined rope and stick.

got third rope from winning hangman game.

got rope from monkey - knive and wire
dont know that wordpuzzle

use wire and stick on hole for fish

gave fish to octopus for a rope

mrtelcom - how did you get key pls

two ropes and knive now

gave fish to octupus for 4th rope.

And out, even took an extra banana with me.

use bottom rum code on treasure box for a shaper

pop got hangman puzzle
3 ropes now

swissmiss, key is in 2nd code box. Look at island with spyglass for code.

first to escape.. collect your prize from small-tool! :)

Out, too...short, but sweet. These games are fun. At least you GET somewhere!! :-P

3 ropes, a wire, a knife... and no fish.

I finally found the fishing rod (no hook, no bait... that's strange).

Pascale - get a stick from above the skull, combine with wire and get a fish from the hole in the floor (not out a window)...

Hi, still live?

easy except for hangman

Well it's very nice you all found it easy, but I'm stuck and no one dared to give much hints nor a walkthrough.

Where is shaper?
How can I grab a banana to give it to the monkey?
What should I count to get all those number codes? Tried many combinations of bottles but no go.

I should have written "No one cared" to give much hints, instead of no one dared. :)

Yep, I'm fed up with this too, Valerie. Too many posters on this site nowadays just yell 'I've found ****' without giving a hint as to said object's location.

Yep guys,
That seems to be the new trend.
And I'm still wondering why they even post things like; I have this and that. You're quicker out (and the winner of course) if you don't post at all. Then all you have to post is "I'm out".

So you are whining that everyone should write a complete walkthrough every time they play? I tend to write things that I find that are not obvious. And often forget to post but do when I remember.

Why don't you just go play old games that have a walkthrough written?

Ok EnJoy at 9:03 said to use bottom rum code on treasure box to get the shaper.

SP7O2I4L8ER

Then I used the shaper on the cage and got knife.

Used knife on skull and got spyglass.

Used spyglass on far-away island to get the other code.

@mrtelcom

If you have nothing useful to say, then say nothing, please.

okay, gonna crawl through this...

Warning! Behold spoilers!

one scene with monkey, at the base of the barrel on the right is a wire, the 7428 code works on the treasure chest and got a 'sharper'... I think its supposed to be a nail file?, clicked on the hangman game (you click on the letters which is limited) to get word 'treasure' and rope, used 'sharper' on hanging cage to get knife, used knife to get banana, gave banana to monkey to get rope and on the same screen with the monkey, used knife on skull to get a telescope, used telescope on window to see code on island (2762), used code on treasure chest to get key, used key on chest with window to get another rope...

and stuck @_@

WHOOT!

Found a 'stick' in the netting above the hangman puzzle and combined with wire, used fishing pole on open hole in floor with window and got fish, gave fish to octopi (octopus?), used four ropes on rope holder things (I have NO idea what they're called) and clicked door and now I'm out! :D

HUZZAH!!!

mrtelcom,
I played all the old games and for a lot of them I wrote walkthroughs. So not much fun in that for me.
What I like(d) about EG24 is the team effort to finish a game with people helping each other, even before asked by telling where they found things and giving hints (not the plain answer) for codes.
For example, for me it's a great joy to play with Edgar and Ellie (I'm sure there are more, but those are the first two that come to mind). They always tell what they found and where and then it's easy to catch up and have the fun to play together in the end. But more then that, those are always great comments for other players when the game is not live anymore. When it's some week old and no walkthrough is written, other players are completely lost because questions won't be answered anymore.

I beg to disagree. Mrtelcom, Enjoy, Casual and others were very helpful in the beginning with where things were. Lots of good hints....

small-tool, I don't disagree with you - I disagree that people think there was no help in this game...

No one said there was "no help".

I said there was not much hints. To me it means there are some, but not many (and not enough). But I may add that English is not my first language.

And we noticed that many people are there just to say what they found and when they are out without helping the others.

And I do not appreciate someone telling me I'm "whinning" because I ask for some help.

Rubbish, zoe, none of the people you've cited provided information as to the location of their finds.

It is spelled whining in the rest of North America.

Small Tool, I hear you, but keep in mind, many of us mean to be helpful when we are posting, but are not very good at it.

@Mrtelcom: EXACTLY! We're not perfect here - just trying to play the games and have FUN! You, sir, are a very helpful game player IMHO.

mrtelcom, no need to be arrogant. Je pourrais aussi très bien te parler en français mais tu n'y comprendrais rien, n'est-ce pas? Combien de langues peux-tu écrire, dis-moi?

Nihongo demo kaku koto ga dekimasuka?

When you will be able to write in a second language without making any other mistake than a double n in a word, we will talk again.

I would prefer we never talk again, regardless of my education.

Need more????

I played this game earlier. Got stuck and came to the comments. All I needed was in mrtelcom's comment at 8:56 for the second use of the knife and Enjoy's one at 8:58 for the location of the wire.
As for my personal experience, comments helped me out. So, @Siobhán Long's sister, I have to partially disagree. There was good and enough help for me as a late (non-live) player.

But I agree with the other side too, since I've been "lost and confused" countless times, and the "have this and that and stuck" is really no help whatsoever. Nevertheless, we all play live for the fun of it. We come and post hints of our findings and ask to help each other, having fun in the meantime. Yes, we're not perfect. As myself, there are lots whose English is not our first language, and bond to make mistakes. But we all do what we can, don't we? The best way possible. Let's keep on... we are a great community here.

Come on guys. This is not the way we post on EG24.
And maybe my comment was out of line too, so sorry for that.
Maybe we better take this subject to the chat-box, but there also without the nasty things.

And why was all this?
@Valerie not reading enough to get the help she needed maybe? All the things you posted were eventually found by yourself in the same comments. Some stuff can't be got until achieving another one first. I don't blame people for missing comments when playing live. It happens often. People gets mad when questions are not answered, but truth is, we all miss some comments once in a while.
@Siobhán Long's sister, you didn't say what got you stuck. Maybe everything you needed was there all the time. If not, you could just ask what you're missing (something others found so easily that didn't care to post) and probably you'd get a DUH! moment. Tell me about it...!

The way I see things, there was no need to be harsh or rude. Help was there.

@s-t, well. Sorry, but I also think your first comment was completely out of place. It might have served only to heat things up unnecessarily.

Noone is here to say how or what we all should post, as much as some of us hate the first-out race some live games have become. That's so against civility.
Like mrtelcom, I've decided skipping the location of the very obvious lately, but keeping notes and willing to say if needed. Anyway, that's one's own decision. I've also have quit games when apparently can't do anything and comments are not helpful. I've skipped playing live the big games (like Selfdefiant's Sneaky ones) because it's almost impossible for me to follow everyone rushing everywhere, lol... a virtual chaos!

I think what I try to say here is... there was really no reason for any discussion in this thread. There are differences, i agree. We post differently. We decide what's worth posting in a different way. Differences make the world go around, and I'm thankful for that.

I agree with you, Edgar. There is no need to be harsh or rude.

On my side, I just wanted to point out that the few hints were not easy to find in the middle of "easy game!" comments. And if I sounded rude, I'm sorry. As I said earlier, English is not my first language, as it is for many other players here. And you have to understand that in that context, me and those people can't always understand the conversation as you may.

But one thing I won't accept is someone being arrogant with me when I ask for help. Pointing to a spelling mistake I made was also totally out of place.

Yep, you're right Edgar, I shouldn't have posted that first comment and already said sorry for that.
And yep, everybody should post whatever they want and I can't and (even if I could) won't lay down the law to say what should be posted and what not. But I can have an opinion about what's posted and how, imho, that affects the (my?) fun of playing on EG24. And not in this particularly game, but more about how people post lately on games.
But I think it's probably better for me to don't post opinions and just play.

Btw. About not playing Selfdefiant live anymore. Well, I guess you're getting old and can't keep up anymore.
And although I'm sure you know I'm kidding I think it's better to mention that I'm kidding. But in case the mentioning was necessary, then you're really getting old :)

@Valerie, I know exactly what you mean when you say some things can be got in a wrong context during the heat of a live game. Easily to lose the temper.
But you know? Someone has to come to me very often to say I can't change the way things are. To accept them and to learn to live with them. If there's something I don't like (comments), then it's in me where I have to start a change. I love that person :)
I'm lucky.

ROFL @s-t! That must be why! maybe I'm making silly excuses, eh?

Although there was a bit of a dispute in the comments, still EGDAW (every game deserves a...)

WALKTHROUGH

DOOR
- Well, nothing much to do here right now, but you may pay attention to the two numbers on the rum-crates, one of them could be a 4-digit Code Hint #1.
- GO RIGHT.

HANGMAN POSTER
- Take the STICK (from above the poster in the bottom of the hanging net).
- Although there's no real clue in the game you can do the hangman puzzle with a little bit of thinking outside the box. It's pirates right and Harr, harr, what do pirates want besides rum, yep 'treasure'. So put it in and take ROPE #1.
- GO RIGHT (2x).

MONKEY on a BARREL
- Take the WIRE (bottom right behind the barrel the monkey is on).
- GO RIGHT.

WINDOW with ISLAND
- Combine the stick and the wire and now you have a FISHING ROD. Use it on the hole in the floor and you have a FISH.
- And now it's time to try the numbers from the rum. Well, just do the bottom number (7248) to open the chest and take the SHAPER.
- GO LEFT (2x).

OCTOPUS in the WINDOW
- Give the fish to the octopus and you have ROPE #2.
- Use the shaper on the hanging cage and take the KNIFE.
- GO LEFT.

HANGMAN POSTER
- Use the knife on the bananas to get a BANANA.
- GO RIGHT (2x).

MONKEY on a BARREL
- Give the banana to the monkey to get ROPE #3.
- Use the knife on the skull on the left to take the TELESCOPE.
- GO RIGHT.

WINDOW with ISLAND
- Zoom in on the window and then use the telescope on it and see 4 digit Code Hint #2 (2762).
- GO LEFT (2x).

OCTOPUS in the WINDOW
- Put that code in the code box and take the KEY.
- GO RIGHT (2x).

WINDOW with ISLAND
- Use the key on the box on the top left and take ROPE #4.
- GO RIGHT.

DOOR
- Put all 4 ropes on the hangers below the window, click the door and go out and you're out.

Oh btw, if you wanna go out with a banana, use the knife on the bananas again before you go out.

yep, small-tool out with a second banana here, too.

As to the rest, all I can say is:
Sheesh, I go away for a couple of weeks and the place falls apart with the slow walkthroughs. ;)

If anyone cares:
I like those games very much but dont have time to play during the day,so I usually play at night when its quiet and its my way of having a great time and relax.Of course I love to catch a live game but Im not lucky at this hour.Even before I posted for the first and get to "know" you I always came to this site for help. When I play a game (not live) I try it on my own and when Im stuck(usually I am) I run through the comments To get an idea and go back on my game,so if I read comments such as:I have this and that..are not very helpful and Im feeling rather stupid. Of course all that probably has no significance for you but because Im a slow player and worst poster I want for 1000.. time to thank all of you who post walkthroughs and really helpful comments.Even if we dont meet in live games I think of you as my friends.Thank you again!

All I can say is .. "yeesh" I posted EVERYTHING I found and did in this game as I did it! I do agree I hate it when people post "found this, found that" because I frequently need the comments and hints to get me through the simplest games. And those kind of comments provide nothing.

But, people really need to read through ALL the comments if they are starting a game later... before they complain that no one is giving out any hints. 9 out of 10 times one of us regulars has posted what to do and how to do it.

I especially need the help daily of small-tool and Edgar. So thank you both a million times. Oh and Edgar I am still stuck on the Yellow Submarine level of the %&$#@ riddle game :)

Good news for you @EnJoy. There's a hint-through you can use now.

Thank-you @sleepystudent, for taking the heat out of a discussion that I'm not sure you knew was taking place..lol

Thank-you @s-t for the W/T.

Thank-you to all the players who post, whether giving hints that are direct or obscure. Any kind of hint is better than silence.

and..thank-you to good fortune, which let me stab a skull unintentionally whilst having a knife highlighted. hehe.

@clio_rose just be sure not to stab people in the skull in real life.

Police frown upon POP as a legal excuse ;)

HAHAHA...Advice noted @kkf..lol

@ kitkatfox:
Hahahahaha!!!
That is sound advice, unless you want to go to hell and meet that blokey with wings from the picture in the "Lucifer's Mystery". ;)
[He could be worth enduring an eternity of weeping and gnashing. No excuses for my tastes.]

Just to agree with everyone:
Yes - the comments here are a little "strained", but since yesterday [to give praise and thanks where it's due] I have noticed a distinct leaning towards the more helpful comments in all the games, like in the "old days". =)
It may take a little war-of-words such as this to get people' attention, but someone's listening, it seems. So, small-tool, don't sit there with your mouth shut if you have a strong opinion. You have a lot of respect here, and if Edgar is too old to change things *wink*, you are clearly NOT too old =)
[M.A.S.H. quote:
Commander: "If every soldier in the world spoke up and complained that they didn't want to fight, what would happen then?"
Hawkeye: "Then we'd have peace!"]
Well, that's SORT OF relevant, haha.

To people who visit EG24, but haven't commented yet [and we know you shy things are out there] =D
If you see a walkthroughless game, and fancy typing for a bit, have a go! =)

wow i missed a big discussion didnt I lol. I think it is good when people say they will hang around to help when they are out (just thought I would add a contribution lol)

Two pop-ups the moment that I opened the link. One of which was a scam, phishing page. No thanks. This game isn't worth the three hundred dollars that Geek Squad will charge me to remove the viruses that you're trying to install on my computer.

@kitkat...so goood to see you back ;) What...you mean I cannot use the *POP* defense...oh man *she said her tongue dripping with sarcasm* ;P

@small-tool...my friend, am I going to need to dedicate another walkthrough to you ...lol! You know I can really get carried away with my silly stories surrounding the various ways and means to escape ;) How about I kidnap you this time ;P I appreciate all walkthroughs and help you have given me over the years :) I know the time it requires to create a walkthrough and thank you so much for EGDAW *walkthrough*...all redundancy aside ;)

I have read dozens of wonderful, lyrical, hysterical and downright *what the heck was that* walkthroughs, and I thank everyone for their helpful hints, long-winded explanations from our brilliant mathematicians when we all needed to be delivered from the horrible math/physics codes *gasp* and with my last few breaths, to KitKat, Edgar, Ellie, Zoz, Small-Tool and many others who took the time to prepare detailed walkthroughs to bring our poor addled minds back from the abyss and out of the room.....whew!!!!! :D

Irish? Do I need to summon Notty for CPR? You seem to be running out of breath ;)

Glad to be back, and if anyone notices, I played this game long after small-tool did the walkthrough. Just couldn't resist ribbing him. bwahahahahaha

Don't worry too much about the lack of comments. Like most things in life, comments on EG24 swing back and forth. Right now, we are in a low point of chattiness. Soon it will pick up with people coming back or new people coming in, and then Yalcin will be getting complaints that we talk too much lol
