So far, got katana (which I used to poke balloon in front of bathroom and get lighter; and used to cut weird purple thing in cubord beneath TV(got weird balls)), also got test result which I put on logs and used lighter, and have both pieces of CD.
Somewhat stuck :)

Zazie, hint to what you counted for the first digit of box code? I figured out the last two numbers and BF'ed the first, but I'm curious.

I got something like a bent pen nib somewhere in the left side of the fireplace when I was trying to catch the butterfly.
I counted the stars and the green pillows, bruteforced the third.

I used something ? Bottle (burning) or lighter (can´t remember) on the left candle.....there is a dialer in left pic now.
@sleepystudent, what is the "test result" you put in the fire logs??
Bena, bent nib-like thing is the door handle - it can be used as a tool

Use bottle on fire, then on left candle, then repeat this (bottle again into fire) and you can lite the right candle also.

in the scene with the fireplace, click the lower right and you'll find a desk. the test result is there.
Also, painted ball (thought it was a CD) and used the pokeball on the butterfly

I used paint brush also on boy, he is not happy.
Phew. Thought I had a glitch or something. Now that I found the bucket, I couldn't get in to use the sink - but I figured out why. It's ok now.
I am stuck.....after coloring the boy.

Bena, knife thingy is the katana with bits of the purple goo we cut in the cabinet under the big sliced apple

The note that's displayed in the middle drawer is fractured so maybe thats why its 2/8?

PyrateKirk, the string is in the window after you close the curtains, use the bottle on the curtains, then use the lighter on the curtains. there should be a little curl of string there.
Pyrate string was i curtain i guess, use bottle on it then lighter.

Bena these things are on the left wall in the green and blue frame after you lit the candles and clicked the dials.
okay, I have one space left, I have a towel (not sure what to do with it, but I think I need to get the boy cleaned up before he leaves)...
The pokeball is the red white ball (red after you used the paintbrush on it) looks like two halfs of a CD.
I've got both candles lit. Both dials exposed from pictures are at 3 o'clock; they won't turn any more.
Would anyone like to say what the heck is supposed to happen next???

ok, I have no earthly clue what I'm missing, but still no ladies room.CD found and placed....dress, bow, paint etc....hmm
I'd got quite far on my own, until I did the dials, and now I'm trying to zip through comments and NOT have puzzles spoiled for me, just pixel hunt parts, haha.

Zazie, did you cut the CD with mozart on the cover? (you have to click the CD case so the cd actually shows then use the katana on it, then put the broke cd in the cd player then go right and the girls room should be there).
I was out and made a retry because i saved before.

Zazie, Sleepy, I never figured the upper drawer either. Or the corner wallpaper i could peel back. I tried to wash of the paint w/ the towel but no go. And the ladies room has no sink to wet it. So I don't know how else he might have changed back

Maybe the other ending only works if you don't paint your face. That seems to be the only undo-able step.

I think we have to make the towel wet to remove the colours from the boys face to make him a real boy again (to have the men´s toilet again)

Rookwings, no you don't have to use it, the butterfly has the code on it for the closet-type thing,
use the half-cut CD on the CD player next to the couch and the womens room will show up on the right screen (screen where boys room is)

Walkthrough:
click door handle, it is actually a screw driver(click magnifier to see items upclose),
Click left corner of rug,
click brown desk in bottom corner,
take failed test and knock over bottle of pink stuff,
go back,
go right,
take katana off shelf, remove cover from katana,
click TV and see pikachu and pokeball,
use katana on apple and take blue smoke bombs,
click in cupboard beneath Tv and cut pink thing with katana, take grey smoke bombs,
note number of stars
turn right,
click plant, click bottom of dirt and get part of CD,
click box, note symbols,
turn right,
use katana on balloon, take lighter, knock garbage over, read note,
go left,
click middle of couch 10 times, take other part of CD, use screw driver on fridge, take cake and beer bottle, use beer bottle on curtain, use lighter on corner(magnify lighter first and turn it on), take string,
click until you see fireplace,
put test paper on logs, use lighter , throw in grey smoke bomb, use bottle on fire, use on candle beneath grey frame, click frame, then throw in purple smoke bombs, use bottle again and light candles, turn both buttons, then click left wall and take bucket and paintbrush, click bottom right back to table, combine cds to form a pokeball, use red paint, capture butterfly and get code "1169"
use code on cupboard underneath books to get ring, throw cake on bullzeye, click upper corner to move wallpaper,
turn right,
8 diamonds, 7 green cushions, 5stars, take bow,
turn right,
go into boys room,
turn on tap, fill bucket with water, go back to fireplace,
throw water on fire, take piece of burner wood, turn off light, note green number 54 (turn right) note green number 27, turn light back on. turn to closet.
enter green number 5427 and get pink dress, note spit music note in middle drawer, use piece of wood on bottom drawer (code on wood) to get hammer. use hammer on ring 3 times, combine ring with string, go to bedroom and click on window, open window, use ring with string on bird, take key, check bookcase, note girl in red, use key on bottom drawer for mozart CD, turn to couch,
use mozart on CD player (heard bird sing twice), take CD back, use katana on CD to cut it in half, use cut CD back into player, wait for music to finish,
turn right,
click on mirror, put dress on boy, bow on boy, and red paint on boy, enter bathroom,
take towel,
click on window,
and your out!
Note: there is another ending, I have NO idea how to get it though....

use the stick from fire on cushion under window so it can dry out
use stick to the right of coat stand for clue
use clue on tiles in ladies bathroom
can now remove boy's makeup - he's happy again!
and stuck!!!
After opening the secret passage between the two toilets, you must dress as a girl (make up, dress and bow) and enter the girl's toilet, then go to the boy's toilet and dress him as a boy again (remove make up with damp towel, change clothes, take off bow). Then, return to the girl's bathroom and exit through the window to get the HAPPY END :)
and how do you go to boy's toilet?
